Repairing A Technics RS-BX501 Cassette Deck - Here's How I fixed one with no sound

  • Here I show you how I repaired a, old Technics RS-BX501 Cassette deck which had no audio at all.
    The issue turned out to be a single resistor that had blown.

    I got the same deck and it's absolutely mute as well. Gotta check that resistor, thans for the info! I'll report back later whether it was the same issue.

    Thanks being trying to fix my deck for some time must be a common fault R631 open on my deck.

    Hello, I have the same problem and my resistor is also damaged. Is it just the resistor that got damaged?

      Hello, It was the only issue my deck had, once I replaced that resistor it fixed the issue. I think others have reported the same issue so hopefully this is your problem, it's very easy to check with a multimeter and fix.
