Famously livable... for the select few who can afford to live in a 20m2 box for 2000 €/month.

Yeah. Coldest major city in the nordics. ^^

Oslo is way colder, and Helsinki is about the same as stockholm. Winter is way shorter in Helsinki than anywhere else in Finland

@@yeahnoway111 Helsinki annual daily mean: 5.3 degrees celsius.
Oslo annual daily mean: 6.8 degrees celsius.
Stockholm annual daily mean: 7.6 degrees celsius.
Couldn't find the source, but there are some pretty extensive diagrams on each city's respective wikipedia page.
Right now it's 12 degrees in helsinki 16 degrees in Oslo and 18 degrees in stockholm. Looks like helsinki is the coldest of the cities you mentioned.

@@ngs8022 prove me wrong. I looked at annual diagrams. the only way I can imagine Helsinki being warmer than Oslo is in the type of heat it gets; in that oslo has less relative humidity. Oslo is still warmer based on the data I've examined.

:D The winters are... /Please Please Please Let Us Know/ (!). Everybody says that Finnish men don't talk (apparently Finnish women make up for that). With temperatures in December ranging from a max of 0 C and a min of -30 C (but better than Minnesota), overcast days (but better than Ireland) and 4-5 hrs of sunglare (in the southern tip), /Please Let Us Know/ if it is Salmon-and-Coffee-and-Sisu-and-Northern_Skiing (not vodka, I take) what keeps people up.

Many stereotypics about Finland don’t apply in Helsinki, in Helsinki people are way more social than in other places in Finland.

You could always fly, unfortunately since the shithole that is Paris takes up the majority of flights in Europe, it's going to be pricey to get there. The cheapest flight to helsinki I found was $620 and involves flying with Tap Air Portugal TO Finland and Multiple Airlines with *Three* stops back to America. (I'm also looking from Boston, so results for you may differ).

PORTA AVIONS I don‘t know. I visited Helsinki as a tourist and in my opinion it was a pretty boring city. Maybe there’s a great quality of life but I can’t say anything about that.

No problem. I think it isn't about weather. I visited Tallinn in the winter and I liked it more by far.

I guess it's a matter of taste. I find the Baltic nations very interesting as well, especially Estonia and Latvia. The old town of Tallinn is really picturesque.

2 useless reasons(just works+superb quality of life), summers is also useless
3 reasons that should be combined into one
incredible is repeated in 4 of the reasons
"For a number of reasons,10 to be precise"
    How it should be:
    1. Close to nature
    2.People trust each other
    3.Easy to get to places
    4.Modern
    5.Citizens cared for
