Kuhn Machines use a lot of roll pins, usually double. By the time repairs are needed they are rusted and near impossible to drive out. Have a GA 7822 with a broke stub shaft on the rear rotor . Glad to see what the gear box looks like on the inside. Now I am considering welding the arm back to whats left of the stub shaft rather than attempting to replace the broken shaft.
I have the same rake with the same issue. You didn't show how you removed or loosened the top casting from the shaft. Any tips? Can it be heated? I got the roll pins out but the casting is not separating from the shaft. I am afraid to use a puller in case I break the casting. Any suggestions?
Good day good video picture is worth a thousand words. What did that gear cost.. PA farms was looking at one rake, talk to dealer about gear box, lif he had to buy one, they wanted $6900. for it. H laughed & said on video he could buy new rake, die fferent brand for 6400. Thanks for video

Thanks!
Nuce video!
Is it posible to take out the whole arm without tearing it all apart?
I can't remember for sure. I think at minimum everything has to be loosened up.
@@AndyFromm thanks I have looked all over the tube fore the answer.
Stay cool 😎

I heated(casting) and beat(shaft) mine. I'd recommend some piece that fits ontop that shaft. I mushroomed that shaft and had to grind it flush again.
👍🏻

the bevel gear at my local caseih/kuhn dealer was around $260 usd. that's actually more than I paid for this rake but it needed repairs.
Don Voll I tried looking for a video talking about that but couldn't find it, do you have the link?
Do you know where to get parts and what the part number is.
Sorry, I don't anymore. My kuhn dealer had no problem finding it that time.
@@AndyFromm Thanks I will need to contact my dealer. And thanks for the video. I have the exact same problem with mine.
@@luraymartin8774 no problem. depending how bad it is, may need both gears.
@@AndyFromm I had it apart and it is just the big one.
