Wow. Talk about a blast from the past. I was 19 in 1986, and totally head over heels in love with Kim Wilde. There is just something about her that makes me reel. She still looks fantastic after all these years. And her voice...is still as sweet as it was back then. That tone...is gorgeous...just like her. Takes me back to a simpler time....ahhhhhhhh.....the 80's. How I miss those days. ☀️

I have always loved Kim who represents the full blooded, wholesome British Blonde Bombshell that defined the sound of the 80ies with its international yet European sound. I would argue Kim has done more for a positive and Europhile Britain than any politician could ever accomplish. Her duets with Nena have been her testament to a 'Yes' to Europe. For that alone I will love her forever. On top of that she continues to sing live at 60(!) contrary to many of her contemporaries (than opt for the cheap and lazy route). I 💓 Kim.
Actually i she is better than ever... i saw her live 25 years ago and she;d often not meet the note and - human- things like that.. but she always has been "real" and not some madonna playback shit

So while it's great having her back finally-with an album just behind her 3 career-best in pure all-round brilliance (1982, 1983 & 1984 respectively) and nestling with the next best 2 ("Another Step" & the "Complete 80s Unalbumed List") that doesn't change the fact that only the obvious songs, apart from this album, usually ever turn up at her shows, and this lets out half a dozen whole albums (INCLUDING her 1983 gem as always!), every B-side/bonus track and many many singles. Just a massive pity she continues to think so badly of the majority of her own stuff, she barely performs more than 20% overall of her amazing and seamless back catalogue, despite the no. of live shows far outstripping those she ever did in the decades building up her to long long comeback. A real pity too, as the old shows were better in the sense the playlist was far more incredible and covers were kept to a bare miminum and above all, that flaming 'Kids' song wasn't ALWAYS the same bloody tune to end on. Of course her energy, voice and performances are amazing and she writes off anyone saying certain acts "shouldn't do this at their age blah blah blah", but the shows still falter for me, as so many great songs and top albums, not least the amazing 1983 stunner "Catch As Catch Can" just never bloody feature. But yes, always sounds amazing, but actually THE best singer ever & THE best songs & ALBUMS & flip-sides. Just a pity she doesn't know this herself or want to. If I was her, I'd be featuring as many of my songs as possible, changing the setlist regularly and dumping that 'Kids' song for LONG amounts of bloody time and there is no decade/era/year/B-side or album I wouldn't feature songs from. A real lament she can/would/could/will never do this or want to do it. Otherwise-the best!

Yes, but you forget that most of her outstanding songs are from her back catalogue and never ever to be given an airing again once out on record. Most of her albums haven't even had half their stuff picked for performance and never will have. She's back to being brill in the sense she finally doing prioper songs again and dumping the cover shit hell for 5 minutes, but that STILL doesn't change the fact that, unless the songs are obvious and she makes them so, once an album's been and gone, it and it's work is forgotten.

A real pity too, as the old shows were better in the sense the playlist was far more incredible and covers were kept to a bare miminum and above all, that flaming 'Kids' song wasn't ALWAYS the same bloody tune to end on. Of course her energy, voice and performances are amazing and she writes off anyone saying certain acts "shouldn't do this at their age blah blah blah", but the shows still falter for me, as so many great songs and top albums, not least the amazing 1983 stunner "Catch As Catch Can" just never bloody feature. But yes, always sounds amazing, but actually THE best singer ever & THE best songs & ALBUMS & flip-sides. Just a pity she doesn't know this herself or want to. If I was her, I'd be featuring as many of my songs as possible, changing the setlist regularly and dumping that 'Kids' song for LONG amounts of bloody time and there is no decade/era/year/B-side or album I wouldn't feature songs from. A real lament she can/would/could/will never do this or want to do it. Otherwise-the best!
What a very beautiful and professional artist this woman is. It just shows that you don't need to flash the flesh like madonna and the rest of the has beens to still be on the circuit. Well done Kim for showing people it's not about flashing flesh but about talent and self respect which you truly have. and also the band was very talented too! Yes, but you forget that most of her outstanding songs are from her back catalogue and never ever to be given an airing again once out on record. Most of her albums haven't even had half their stuff picked for performance and never will have. She's back to being brill in the sense she finally doing prioper songs again and dumping the cover shit hell for 5 minutes, but that STILL doesn't change the fact that, unless the songs are obvious and she makes them so, once an album's been and gone, it and it's work is forgotten.
