Jim Gold, president of Jim Gold international, is a folk dance teacher, choreographer, musician, writer, and classical and folk guitarist. His one-man show: “An Evening with Jim Gold” features international folk songs, classical guitar, ad-libs, and off-beat, imaginative stories has appeared on TV, in schools and in universities throughout the USA.
His varied life is chronicled in the fourteen books he has written. Zany! An Entrepreneur’s Guide to the Next Universe, gives you an idea of his unique humor and imaginative business approach while his A Treasury of International Folk Dances: A Step-by-Step Guide details his folk dance choreographies. His latest Covid Trilogy, Dancing Through, Out Of, and Beyond Covid explores adventures during that historic time.
Jim graduated from the High School of Music and Art in New York City as a violinist. He attended University of Rochester and the Eastman School of Music. He spent a year in southern France at the University of Aix-en-Provence, returned to America, and graduated with a B.A. in history from University of Chicago. He later received his M.A. degree in Music from New York University.
