Elevation NextGen exists so that people far from God will be raised to life in Christ. It’s a place where kids, teenagers, students in college, young adults, and parents of all of the above will find tons of fun and resources to benefit and strengthen their faith! We cover faith, anxiety, friendship, depression, identity, popularity, confidence, leadership, and what the Bible says about those topics. (And that’s probably not all we cover.)
NextGen is part of Elevation Church, a global ministry led by pastor and visionary Steven Furtick. The ministry now has multiple locations throughout the U.S. and Canada as well as a powerful musical expression known as Elevation Worship.

Interesting interview. But I was shocked by an answer to a question... At 1:03:57, an interviewer asked Aaron what his time with God looked like, because their youth groups were getting back to the basics. Aaron deferred to his father's comments, which were not actionable. The better answer should've been that the more mature Christian believers should be modeling prayer, Bible reading and Bible study, fellowship, and service for others. Bible reading should be done daily, more than 1 chapter, starting with the whole New Testament. Although Jesus gave us a model prayer, Paul's prayers (Eph 1:16-20; 3:14-20; Col 1:9-14; 2Thes 1:11-12) do not follow that pattern. So youth leaders and pastors should be teaching how Paul prayed, the content, and the rationale and then leading the students to actually pray. Then of course, there is service and life in general. The leaders should bring the teens along with them. Pastors should be doing the same thing with their flocks.
Discipleship is the key to growing in Christ. Paul wrote, "Imitate [mimetes] me, just as I also imitate Christ.” (1Cor 11:1)
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example [tupos] to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." (1Tim 4:12)
One pastor, in 1975, who unwittingly ran his church like a business, was chastened by God and learned the need for discipleship. He wrote, “I gave my life to these disciples. I served them. We went out to the countryside together. We ate together; they slept in my home and I slept in theirs. We became a family.” [Disciple by Juan Carlos Ortiz (1975), p. 115]
