- With more and more photo/video light modifiers introduced every year, it is sometimes difficult as a photographer to make the correct choices for lighting. Renowned commercial photographer Joel Grimes discusses the basics of choosing the correct lighting modifier for your photography. Bigger = softer doesn't tell me anything about the difference between an Umbrella, Octabox, Beauty Dish, and Rectangular Softbox. And the one thing you liked most about the Softbox was the fact that you can put a grid on it - but most of the other modifiers take grids too.
Would be much more informative with comparison images
Agree!
agree
EXACTLY smh
I use the 59 inches Zeppelin, and I can tell you that the light it produces is just gorgeous. The only problem is that I find it impractical for traveling. But for studio,it's great.
I am yet to find a comprehensive independent review and comparisons of the new beautydish to make my decision for travel modifier.
And yet... no examples.
ftbalz Just search for Joel Grimes, he has loads of videos and samples of his work on UA-cam, using these modifiers.

For soft light for babies and even coverage of a larger areas for family photos a large softbox, octa or umbrella is a good choice. www.fjwestcott.com/shop/light-modifiers
Too much lecture. Not enough action.
Way too expensive
Joel, I would have liked this not to be Westcott sponsored.
