Just one of the best female performances ever recorded...Just brilliant!..Thanks Sam Brown for 3 minutes of pure music vocal Brilliance!..Frank THE MEMPHIS SUNS.
Best line, "Gov you don't have to live with her!". Just strap yourself in and enjoy the ride...what a talent and joy to both watch and listen to her pure joy of singing her heart out.
I was a DJ at the time & this song was one of my go too songs when the night was dying. Great range that wasnt really noticed the way it deserved, amazing pipes.
I'll admit that I avoided checking out this one for years, as I figured it was useless to cover this definitive song. How wrong I was! What a great job this woman does--thanks for sharing.
Superb ! 1988, Can't believe it ! Stunning voice. Sam you have a great catalogue of work. Your journey has not been an easy one........... Got to hear your awesome voice again live.X
william5177 We all hope for that... Unfortunately Sam lost her singing voice about 8 years ago due to cyst on vocal chord. She's running ukulele clubs now and doing well as far as i know. You can find some videos on UA-cam and articles on Google about this.
You're welcome :) I agree, she did great job here. But believe me, it's not only cover that she did so good. Check some her videos on my channel, like "Drown In My Own Tears" for example.
john e Lawler Yeah, you asked about it 6 months ago :)) But anyway. I read some of her interviews and articles and i think this was her own decision not to be superstar. She didn't want to be treated like some producers' instrument for money making. Show business doesn't care about good songs, it cares about songs that had commercial success. Some artists can do both but even they can't do this on regular basis. Sam wanted to record her own material, songs that she liked, unfortunately they weren't "hits". Who knows how high she could rise, she had everything - talent, looks, charisma, she could sing and play instruments. Anyway, she recorded 6 albums, with a lot of good songs in them, some collaborations, lot of backing vocals work, did some great live performances - quite a good career!
If you haven't seen and herd what is coming out of a production company called Post Modern Juke Box...or PMJ..check it out... they have a stable of new faces, knew to me anyway that are very worthy of peek. Not too hard on the eyes either... Check out the covers of "Bad Romance" "Creep" "Got that Base" and more..
I remember this track when it came out (Was that the guy from the Bill in the video?) very catchy. Her first hit was a really good Sentimental ballad(Stop).
@@BoraBoraSharkBoy No it isn't annoying. You're thinking of the 80s shit like Slagdonna, Sting, Weller, Dexys, Cure, Phil Collins, Weller, David Byrne. If it weren't for people covering old stuff like this, I'd probably never wanna hear the song.
Well guess what, elitist misogynist d*ckhead! Lady Gaga definetly uses her great voice, her voice and music always come first for her. Rihanna uses her amazing voice too. Madonna was never a great vocalist, but she used what she had, music also comes first and foremost for her. Had it not been for her bravery, women would never be completely free and empowered to do what they want with their bodies, the LGBT community wouldn't have had such a great ally during the AIDS outbreak in the 80's. It's funny how misogynist c*nts think that people can only listen to a certain female artist just because she "shows off her body", which is ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!
Marvin gaye the prince of Tamla Motown brought me here .Sam you are one of the best female singers who ever lived.
I forgot how good this song was.
And how beautiful she was too
She's just amazing.
What a great song and what a voice Sam Brown awesome.

Great! I always loved that Motown Sound music. Brings back memories of when I was a young man!

Classically beautiful Sam Brown and her amazingly superb voice!!!

I am used to hearing Sam singing the blues, like the epic "Sam". But, man, she is one sexy rock and roll singer!
Зажигательная композиция.Саманта великолепна как всегда.
Сэм, а не Саманта
Sam Brown how did I miss you in the 80's????????????????????

+Bob Corwin Tell me you heard of this cover from her, As this was a hit for her
mikey p yes.. Sammy's..I didn't say it wasn't?
Damn she is beautiful.
She could sing the phone directory and it would be amazing!
Sadly, not since 2007, when she lost her (singing) voice.
She has gone a similar way to Linda Ronstadt in terms of losing her singing voice (although for different reasons).

Yes it was "Reg Hollis" from The Bill.
Yes it's Jeff Stewart
Can't believe she sings her ass off and her feet are nailed to the floor. But I do love her, I really do.
Voice
I want to go to my trials and just do this !!!
This is how all court cases should be conducted.
Don't think I've heard this since I was 8
Superb cover!. If I'm not mistaken is that not dad Joe as the judge?
Should have covered more Northern soul singles.
Sam Brown and Reg ‘ollis. Power couple.
What is reg hollis doing in this video?
Ahh, well there's more to reg than meets the eye.
As PC Debbie Keane once told her colleagues.

And dear old Reg from the Bill - I think Sam's a bit out of his league though!
Underbara Sam Brown!
....oh my God everyone who claims to miss the eighties should be forced to listen to this
repeatedly
What annoyingly sung cover of a sixties song is supposed to prove about the eighties?

Reg Hollis never looked so cool.

Used to have the serious hots for her...
And this adds what to the original?
A feminine charm for one.
