Congrats on the gladiator! I went from a jk to a 21 Willys gladiator. That longer wheel base makes it a more comfortable smooth ride on and off road! Felt the difference in anza borrego !
I would get a drive shaft made at a local shop. My JE Reel had vibrations and was out of balance. This required me to go to a local driveline shop anyhow.
Huge congrats on the new toys! Can’t wait to see the build progress. I’m in the process of putting one tons and 40s as well on my JKU so this is perfect timing.
Congrats on the new rig! In terms of towing heavy stuff, doesn’t the gladiator have the same anemic motor as the JL? With the weight of the build you described plus a heavy trailer, how will this work? Or are you going to swap motors in a separate video lol
That is the question I am asking myself as well 😂 I'm hoping the 5:38 gears will be enough and given that I'll be about 1,500 lbs under the max tow rating. This will be a fun experiment. But yes, 3.6 gas engine and 8 speed auto.
I’m watching with interest! The gladiator will be sweet. Have you seen the motobilt bob kit? So cool. Vector Offroad has a lime green bob version that is so cool
Do you have any payload concerns with the Overland if you're going for a camper (tongue weight)? Isn't it the Sport with the Max Tow that has the highest payload capacity for the Gladiator?
I wondered how long until this question! Based on my research and talking with my rep at the dealership the only difference in the regular tow package and the max is slightly wider axles. The gauge of the axle is the same, brakes are the same, transmission cooler is the same. So because of the axle swap we’re doing I wasn’t concerned about it. Someone feel free to fact check that info! But that’s my understanding. Payload is also the same I believe. If anything, payload would be affected by spring rates in the rear which, again, is all part of what we are swapping out anyway. Hope that helps!
@@4XTRAIL Thanks for the thorough response. Especially considering the axel swap. I think on the door jam it'll have the official payload for that specific vehicle. I'm about 2 years behind you on getting my own Gladiator and I'm in Arizona too. So, I'll be following your channel closely for ideas.
@@4XTRAIL I’ll be in the market for a JT next year and have been looking at several dealers that do go 7%, one is right by you. But the bottom line is really the final “out the door” price. Thanks for the response.
Dana 44’s work fantastic. People overspend but that’s ok, they can but Dana 44’s are flawless for the outdoorsman ! It’s a Gladiator not a one ton off road racer.
D44s are strong no doubt, especially the HD ones on the JT. I am still running a trussed D30 on my JK with 37s and it’s hanging in there. BUT when I figured up the cost of the parts that are included with the UD60s (gears, brakes, chromoly shafts, track bar, ball joints) and because of 40” being the minimum tire size for this build, plus the types of trails we are planning to do, plus towing w/heavy payload on longer overland type trails in remote areas with my family, UD60s we’re an easy choice. Not to mention the re-sale value of these stock HD D44s!
@@4XTRAIL Oh I totally understand and agree ! My comment mostly for average joe that buys one of these. To many people get caught up in thinking they have to mod them ! I personally like the Detroit tru Trac over lockers, mine have been flawless ! Your rig is sickly sweet !!!!!
Hey Brandon! I’m not going to give the number but I’ll say this: it was a good deal but not the steal of the century by any means. I’m sure I could have found one cheaper if I looked hard enough, but high quality customer service and location also meant a lot to us. Hope that helps! Appreciate the comment 🤙🏼
Ha! I’m about to do a video on this after owning my Wrangler for 4 years - looking at the long term reliability. But I get your sentiment, there was a time when that was very true!
Welcome to the club!

Dude!! So excited for this build. Lets go!!!!🎉🎉🎉

We almost match!
Congrats on the Gladiator!
Super important thing to know before you begin: Gladiator owners don't Jeep Wave - we Gladdy Horns! 🤘
Thanks! Haha and I’ll try to remember that! 😅
i just bought my overland and love it! already taken it out multiple times and i bought mine from the same dealership lol
Awesome!

Appreciate that. Planning to do some designated driveshaft videos as we dive into it. We will see how well the JE Reel shafts integrate!
Got a 21 sarge green jt, love it - you made the right decision in switching over !
That's great to hear Bibi! Thanks for the comment 👏🏼
Congrats man, Super excited for y’all! Hope to see it around town sometime👍🏻
Thanks, and same here!
You deserve way more subscribers Caleb! Very well put together video! I look forward to watching this Jeep Build
Appreciate the comment! Thanks 👊🏼
@@4XTRAIL no problem man! Keep it up 👍😎

Come on bro!!! This is freaking awesome dude!!
Bro I miss wheeling together man! Hope you guys can come out to AZ sometime real soon.
You’re going to love the gladiator platform! Love my 22 JTRD!
Also, I’m running the 4” long arm Teraflex Alpine lift with the adjustable 3.3 Falcon shocks on my JKU. It’s been a solid upgrade.
That’s great to hear! 👏🏼 If you’re ever in PHX you’ll have to hit us up!

Thanks 875fps 🙌🏼 and that’s great! We’ll be on a similar track it sounds like. Parts are rolling in but probably still four weeks out from starting.
Great color! I have an ultimate Dana 44. It’s beefy!
Thanks Austin! That’s awesome, yeah the front UD60 alone is almost 700lbs 😳😅
Congrats on your new Gladiator! Just subscribed to your channel.
Thank you Mike! Glad you’re along for the ride with us 🙌🏼
Same here but I’m gonna keep it stock except the. Camping gear I subbed
Fantastic - you can do a lot with stock. Sounds like a great camping rig!
Congratulations on the new rig. New subscriber. BTW, I live in AJ
That's awesome! Thanks for joining us! 🙌🏼
nice car

Might’ve missed it, but did you sell the JKU?
No, still have it! It needs a little TLC at the moment. Will do an update soon.
do they sell 7% under MSRP? Nice gladiator
Hey, thanks for the comment. They didn’t go that low, but they were very upfront and easy to negotiate with!
