- in todays video. i show you guys how i carry my 5" knipex tools. plus a few other tools i carry with them.
the stuff highlighted in the video:
#1: knipex 5" cobra pliers
#2: knipex 5" pliers-wrench
#3: crescent tools 4" crescent wrench
#4: olight i3t-eos
#5: leatherman LARGE multitool sheath with elastic slips on the sides.
I edc the 150 Cobra only, because it can do more, than these 2 both can. Then I also carry a Spirit X and an Explorer, as also a pen that has in it, a dozen of small bits. I could do without the Cobra, because the spirit X has pliers, however, what the Cobra can't do, the Spirt X pliers can, and vise versa. Also, it's a great idea, to have to pair of pliers for some jobs. As for the Spirit X and the Explorer, it's the same with them too, what tools the Spirit lacks, the Explorer has them, and vise versa again!
That's the perfect tool combo for my needs. Half of these tools are on my belt and the rest are inside my edc bag, which is a Maxpedition Fatboy Versipack, that works and looks like new, even though it has seen, a decade of serious abuse!
Actually, the only thing, that shows wear, is the plastic slabs, on the Explorer. All the other tools, even the shiny Spirit, look like new and believe me, I've also sued those at my work, where they have seen abuse, that common tools can not survive!
I also carry. 150 cobra and a 125 but have a 125-150 pliers wrench coming to carry and will rotate them
I’m always edc cobra xs with my leatherman pouch. Planning to add the 125 wrench but wondering if it fits on the leatherman pouch, thanks to you my 125 wrench is on the way.
Awsome! Please let me know how it goes.
It may be a bit snug at first, then fit better the more you use it.
I'm guessing that the large pouch you show here is for the Supertool 300 and maybe Surge? Whereas the medium sized pouch is like the ones I have for my Rebar and Bond. I'm not a pouch carrier unless I'm in the outdoors, but just for fun now I'm going to put together an EDC kit in one of my medium size LM pouches, it will definitely include the Knipex Cobra XS and I'm thinking something like my Victorinox Farmer X, and a Wera mini bit set with the very basic Wera mini screwdriver handle/bit driver. So arguably a better and more capable toolset than either of those Leatherman multitools I own, although it wouldn't have wire cutting or filing capability but I don't really use either of those tools much anyway. I reckon it would have room for a small flashlight and pen too.
Can you make a video the plier wrench or Cobra without rubber handle. I wonder how they look like.
I wont do it to my cobra, cuz i like that one as is. But i'll show the pliers-wrench without the heat shrink i put on. I'll also post on instagram if you have that
I should also add, if you're wanting to strip the handles, melting them wont work. You'll need a knife, & a wire brush. But the result IS worth it for the pliers wrench. The metal has a kind of orange peel texture that is grippier than the glossy rubber that it comes with.
I have short uploading right now showing the knipex pliers-wrench with bare metal handles. It should be up by 12:00pm cst (noon)
@@jspr_edc Thanks a lot. I'll always keep in touch with your channel.
