Cindy's meal looks quintessentially Amish, and delicious! I get the noodles to make the Amish brown butter noodles from a small Amish market up here in northern Michigan. I just love them when my Crohn's Disease flares up. Sometimes, that, and mashed potatoes are the only foods I can tolerate.

I have never fixed Amish brown butter noodles. I always enjoy getting them when we go to Lancaster. My favorite place to get them is Diener's Restaurant in Ronks. We enjoyed our meals at Katie's. The peanut butter spread with the homemade rolls was a great way to start! Hope you are having a good week!

That’s one thing i miss about PA. Hot roast beef sandwich with gravy and gravy fries. Would stop by a dinner on the way home from work.

I lived in the northeast for a few years, and we had the privilege of going to Lancaster County, PA, to the Amish restaurants to eat! This was in the mid-80s, and I still haven’t forgotten how great the food was! ❤ It was absolutely wonderful, so your video made me hungry for the beautiful food y’all were enjoying! Oh my! My mouth is watering for the HAM LOAF!!! And everything else… I had never had the ham balls until we went up there, and I absolutely fell in love with them. They were delicious!
I saw you trying the ham balls on your video. 😋 If I had not tried the sample at S. Clyde Weaver's store, I would not have ordered the ham loaf. It was so good!

The BLT’s (served in different ways) listed for about 11 bucks. Yipes! but everything is expensive now days. It all looks tasty though.
I have noticed that BLT's have increased in price everywhere. Of course the price of bacon has increased in the grocery store too. I'd be expecting a lot of bacon for that money. Whenever you add bacon to a sandwich or order a side of bacon it tends to be pricey everywhere. Thanks for watching!

It was! Great restaurant to visit in Lancaster for authentic Amish food. They stay busy and there is usually a wait.
Good choice! Surprised you didn't have to wait in line. We have eaten there many times. The peanut butter spread is also called church spread and served as a snack after a three hour service. I am not sure my Baptist but could handle a three hour service. God Bless and safe travels.
There were people outside so we thought we would have to wait. We waited less than 5 minutes and they called our name. We could have eaten at the counter but we prefer the table for a video. Makes it easier to record everybody. We are Baptist too and a 3 hour service would be crazy!

The food looked delicious but the portions looked small for being almost 15 Dollars a meal
The food was delicious. I thought my ham loaf was very generous. I'm sure David would have enjoyed a larger portion of the roast beef and gravy. He is a big eater and that is one of his favorites. I think the portion size was about what we get anywhere. It wasn't overly bountiful. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Oh my...I am full after watching this (ha)! The food looked so good and that peanut butter spread on those rolls - well, let's just say I could make a meal out of that and the creamy mac & cheese. I thought the strawberry pie was the best looking fruit pie ever with crust that looked like shortbread cookies (maybe?). 🍓
That peanut butter spread was an amazing way to start a meal! I did not try Carly's mac & cheese but she enjoyed it. That strawberry pie was on point! Yes, the crust was a shortbread type of crust. When I make strawberry pies at home I buy a premade pie shell. I prefer the shortbread crust over the traditional graham cracker pie crust. Thanks for watching!

It looked like you guys really enjoyed your visit to Amish country, It's about a four hour drive from my house, definitely on my bucket list. You do a great hob editing your videos, always enjoy the music 😊. The food at Katie's all looked scrumptious, especially that roast beef, it would melt in your mouth . Like i mentioned in one of your other videos a friend i worked with would bring ham loaf to work that his wife made it was delicious with some mind of glaze sauce 😊 Your ham loaf looked very good too , and your mashed potatoes and Davids were eye appealing, and Carly's mac n cheese looked delightful. I'm like you Cindy i want my hot foods hot and my cold foods cold. Now that strawberry 🍓 pie made my mouth water, that crust was so light and flaky. Liked the picture with Carly by the horse. Also she had a really pretty shirt on , i couldn't tell if that was a rose on it 👍. While i really enjoyed your trip through amish country. Time for me to have my dinner and get ready for game 7 of the Stanley cup finals. God Bless all of you, you always brighten up my day 🇺🇸🍓🏒
We did have a great visit to Amish Country. We all liked our entrees at Katie's. We also enjoyed those homemade rolls with the peanut butter spread. mmmmm The glaze sauce on my ham loaf was pineapple. The open faced roast beef with potatoes is one of David's favorites. That strawberry pie was out of this world good!
Carly actually got to ride the horse with the young Amish man. But the video did not come out of her ride.

When I saw that you got the ham loaf, I just had to comment.
When we arrived last Thursday, our friends in PA prepared a lunch for us in their home. She made ham loaf, and it was also my first time trying it. It was AMAZING! In fact, I would prefer it over standard meat loaf. She used an apricot glaze instead of pineapple, but she also mentioned that some use pineapple. I think it would be great with any type of glaze.

That is so awesome that your friends prepared such a delicious lunch for you. I would not have ordered ham loaf if I had not tried the sample at the store the day before and liked it. Someone else told me that they have had apricot glaze on the ham loaf. I wanted to order something a little different than my normal and I'm glad I did. Thanks for watching and safe travels! ❤

My meal was definitely traditional PA Dutch Amish. It was delicious! I would definitely get ham loaf again. I tried a sample at S. Clyde Weaver's store and really enjoyed it, so thought I'd try it for an entree. David thought the roast beef was so tender and tasty. That strawberry pie for dessert hit the spot!

I like the atmosphere of the small restaurant. I like the open face roast beef sandwich. Rolls looked amazing. But I'm with Carly I will stick with butter on my rolls 😂. I'm not a peanut butter fan. Pie looked yummy too

Now that's a restaurant I'll have to try when in Lancaster! The open face roast beef looked out of this world and the mashed potatoes looked spectacular! Now I'm with Carly on this one I think I'd prefer butter on the rolls over peanut butter although I would have tried some on the roll and I do love peanut butter! Thanks for sharing my friends!

Place looks clean and lots of room.
It is a very clean restaurant. It’s very popular and often you have to wait for a table. It’s somewhat small. It’s very popular.
If there another restaurant near there I believe it starts with a D.?
You might be talking about Dienners. That’s a great place to eat at too.
Yes that it hopefully we will eat there this year. Are there any restaurants open late on a Wednesday night. We might be getting in near Sight and Sound theater about 730 pm then check in our hotel hopefully get something to eat then.
@@jamesbrooksbank9721 I know that a lot of places close early in the area. We do know of a diner that is open 24 hours a day. We have not been there but we have talked about going to eat there but we always run out of time. It' called Park City Diner and it's located outside of the main part of Lancaster. You could look into that and that may be an option for you. Enjoy your visit to Amish country. By the way Dienner's is one of our favorites!
