a pulley is any system of ropes and (grooved) wheels a winch is a specific system that uses a rope wrapped around a cylinder and then rotates that with a motor to pull a weight
A Pulley and Winch are separate things but related to each other. A pulley is a "wheel"/pivot point with a rope/chain wrapped around it and is used for "pulling" heavy loads and/or changing the direction of force applied through the rope (it also does a bunch of stuff related to force distribution and lifting). A winch is a mechanism basically does the same thing, but without the ability to change the direction of movement, it is designed to coil a length of rope/wire and pull in a single direction. You can use a Winch and a Pulley together.
Flag because maybe the US is the greatest country on earth...that fuels the production of the greatest rocket on earth Hard to believe folks have a hard time understanding old glory
6:18 nothing fell, it's the lens flare from the light on the chop sticks on the opposing side of the focal point. I belive you have even talked about these lens flares in an earlier episode.
Texans love their country, I'm guessing that part had some significance possibly a new iteration for the declaration with the flag .If some of you don't like it, tough. Personally I think it's a great declaration for representation of incredible work .
@tmikkelsen8066 they started with grain silos ,I remember when hoppers nose blew off , I don't care if it's one ring section, they are on the verge of doing something never accomplished by man . A fully reusable space craft .
I remember when they laid the 'wooden mats' on the highway with Front Fork Loaders and 'rushed' Frankencrane to SN9, when she fell over in the Highbay. (SN9 was then called Eileen forever after). Yup, those were the days........
Elon has expressed strong opinions against the excessive use of acronyms and abbreviations, particularly within his companies. Around 2010, he sent an email to SpaceX employees titled “Acronyms Seriously Suck,” he emphasized that overuse of made-up acronyms hinders communication, especially for new employees who may feel uncomfortable admitting they don’t understand certain terms.
Everyone can have an opinion but you might want to think before you share yours. There is no reason not to allow Amazon packages on Starbase unless you were joking in which case that joke wooshed right past me.
@basbekjenl Jeff Bezos, owner of Blue Origin sued Elon Musk to slow SpaceX down in hope of catching up (That's my opinion)... the post was more curiosity than a juke... how many people I could trigger!
Sorry, Thumbs Down. NASA helped birth SpaceX as we know it today, as part of a deliberate policy- not the other way around. We always need positive reform of particular government agencies; but, government agencies work Of, By, and For the people- both those currently living, and those not yet alive; NOT for just any one company, no many how good. - Dave Huntsman

I do love the small little funny things SpaceX does lol
@nasaspaceflight. The flag usually means 'topping out' or finishing some structure.
This entire Starship project is the coolest thing I've ever witnessed.
3:06 Hoppy on guard 🫡
thanks for telecasting it
thank you so much for all that you do Mary
That Flag probably has an intended audience of one.
For our country which we love?
Yup
Proud Americans :3
Try 71 million CHUMP
71 million Americans actually love our country. If the American flag bothers you, get the fuck out.
@@blueg6demon423 be mad chump

Thank you Jack, John, Mary and the entire NSF team for these amazing updates.
Good one das! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! ❤😊 Gobble gobble .

Makes me sick. Those who oppose our flag need to take the next flight to China

Ive met a bunch of spacex employees here in florida. Great lot of people.

It's das 😊
A winch provides power to the line. A pulley changes the direction of the line.
Frankencrane was cool.
Starship can potentially send equipment the size of an excavator to Mars…imagine that.
"Sheaves" Das, "the pulleys". 😊
American flag ? Maybe national pride 😮
I like the 'Koalabear' for the carriage
Loved the scale joke at the end. 😂
Frankencrane those were the days 😂

Those pads , may be targets for booster/Starship alignment for landing----
Regarding the flag, someone on twitter said it was someones last day working at spacex
that one plate on the OLM that had a dip in it, i think it was actually longer to cover a portion of the stairs
^ Proud American right here! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
SpaceX use acronyms.
OLM, OLIT, OLP, SQD, QD, BQD, etc
Nah. The people that cover them do
SpaceX should cut pieces of a used rockets and sell them mounted on a nice display. That would be so cool.
The guy who runs the assembly for that specific section of the rocket retired and they put a flag on it to celebrate him😊
I am guessing wildly here but we may see the US flag instead of a banana this time on the ship or the booster. Just a wild guess.
I think woody might be hitching a ride soon
It’s a piñata party. Put it on the chop sticks and let’s take a swing
Hey John, how come you know so much about all this hardware?
pullys for belts sheaves for ropes wire ropes included
05:27 - FYI; we don’t call them I-beams any more… 😉Structural engineers call those ‘Wide flange’ beams or ’W shapes’ now. Hope that helps!

SpaceX uses an N.A.P: No Acronym Policy
Laying pipe hard and fast.

I miss the crane nicknames

No abbreviations except for the name of the company haha SpaceX aka Space Exploration Technologies Corp.
Scaffolding = railings
Why did they disassemble the 11000 in the first place when they just could've move it out of the way?
Great intro music, what is it please.
it's just a youtube generic intro video
😮
Hey what’s behind the flag? Ummmm🤔
His confusion at someone’s patriotism is amusing.
🙏🇮🇳
They see the display of the flag at Starbase as a symbol of their fascist victory, and to serve notice that things are about to change...
Imagine being so dumb 🤣🤣
those painting works are useless, waste of resources
when is space x set to take over nasa .
