Wow! I have in the last couple of years begun to not only plant more shrubs but then of course have to do some pruning as they get settled in and put on growth. I do believe that those shrubs can take care of themselves and will put our more growth and improve their general vigor. Having said that I still approach pruning them with a lot of caution and worry when I mistakenly leave a big hole (which always seems to happen right on the most visible portion of the shrub). Looking at this video gives me more confidence to just go ahead and do it with the knowledge that any of my mistakes will be just a memory after a bit of time. It's "on the job training" which is a pretty good way to go.

You don't have to convince me .. I'm a pruner (by hand) 😊 It's my nature. I've cut hair all my life ☺️
It can be more time-consuming, but also more relaxing using a hand pruner ☺
