    For me, THIS is what I consider dj'ing. I know some people think just switching between prerecorded mixes is dj'ing. but for me, THIS is what actual dj'ing is. for me

    Bought beginner and pro flx4 courses which helped a lot understanding all the functions and techniques, but these videos are gold to have ideas on how to apply them specifically to a genre
    Very good inspiration, even if i’m mixing faster techno

    I guess I am a bit old school - I get how creating a 4 beat loop on the outgoing track can make it easier to phrase the mix but is it always necessary to do this ? I am looking forward to updating my equipment so I can do some of these things :)

    I wish techno had more build ups and hard hitting drops, guess that why I like hard techno, but even that needs better build ups.

    I would like to do this kind of mix, but the style that I play is more melodic and it's very hard for me doing very long transitions, because most tracks don't sound good together.

    Would the Techno Mixing DJ course be suitable for me if I mainly play genres like Deep House, Tech-Minimal, Tech-House, and Organic House? My goal is to master FX, Color FX, and to learn when and how to use these effects properly to enhance my mix without overloading it. Thanks a lot

    can someone explain to me, so in this video its mostly eq mixing, but I send techno mixes with the same sort of eq blending and they all tell me, your mixes are boring, they also said "eq mixing is dead" but I never mix house in that way, I always do fancy tricks, my question is, should I be mixing the way I know how?

    • @Lostin2024
      @Lostin2024 2 місяці тому

      Mix and DJ however you see fit. You said you send your mixes to people and they say it’s boring. First and foremost stop sending your mixes to people. You don’t need anyone’s approval. With the power of social media you can create your own path. Look at somebody like James Hype. He has the worst DJ style I’ve ever seen in my life but he was able to find worldwide success. He used his social media to put his work out there and the people that do enjoy his style were able to find him. Just like James Hype did, put your stuff out there and curate the audience that does like your style of DJing. There are 8 billion people on this planet. I guarantee you there’s a few thousand or maybe even a few million people that like exactly what you do. It’s up to you to hunt them down. You just have to have thick skin and not worry about what people think of you. James Hype definitely doesn’t care that I think he’s a terrible DJ. He’s entirely too busy traveling the world living his dream. You can do the same.

    make a video on how to dig for tracks, especially online… i know discogs is there and all the etc… but it’s beyond me how DJ’s have an arsenal of NEW tracks.. like how do they find all these new tracks? i swear it must be that they get a zip of tracks sent to them via email.

      thats excatly what happens, thats why on every set you see the tracklist guy with a bunch of unreleased songs.
      Some producers prefer that their songs get played before going mainstream on any platform.

    I've stopped at 3 minutes...sounds great, but way too much input for me to cope with for one transition. I have around 200 hours mixed genre deck time and I found this just mind blowing...
    Maybe next year I'll have the experience to be able to make all those coordinated moves...
    My decks a lower spec and doesn't have all the features your using either....
    This is why I'm sticking to mainstream events and not attempting any club introductions. There's a lot to it as you've just proved...

    • @danielcraig9666
      @danielcraig9666 4 місяці тому +7

      Most people at a club won't even know if you did anything fancy here.

    • @mikkliish
      @mikkliish 3 місяці тому

      @danielcraig9666 speaking from my own experience watching expert dj's like Danny before I ever even knew what dj'ing was: the crowd will definitely notice that the music never stops and has no obvious switch from one song to another... like it's one long song
      that's why I always wondered what the dj was actually doing because the mix was so continuous
      if you can clearly hear one song stop and the next one start then it's not rocket science to know what's happening
      obviously, you're experience and how / why you got into dj'ing may be totally different than mine

    • @danielcraig9666
      @danielcraig9666 3 місяці тому

      @@mikkliish I'm just saying you don't need a lot of fancy tricks in order to have a seamless mix.

      start slow you don't have to go full speed like him. as your confidence improves so will your movement speed.

    • @PartyAnimalDJ
      @PartyAnimalDJ 2 місяці тому

      @MrDMario Yes, that's true. I'm getting back into this as I want to progress to clubs next year. The local function rooms and small back bars with 20 guests wanting 80s pop is not lighting my fire..
