that young girl wanting to start a restaurant truly broke my heart. made me think if i can help anyone around my community to prevent them from having to sell their bodies :(
That young girl on the street who has only been at it for 6 months seems so sweet and hopeful. The streets haven’t broken her down yet and I hope she gets out before they truly do. It’s such dangerous and demeaning work, the girls have to convince themselves they like it just to get by. Otherwise they couldn’t do it anymore. It’s sad that as a woman, you can always resort to selling your body if you need money. Women tend to be more emotionally affected by intimacy than men, so this line of work can really break them down.
I started to cry when the first girl said she was doing it for law school, I live in Brazil and it's hard to find a job if you don't have a scholarship, but there isn't that amount of prostitution :(
Its also sad that no one is doing anything to help her. If that was 50's 60's or 70's someone would have taken her home to help her. I dont know any more, maybe always been like that. No one cares.
@minusmartin It would probably be a pay raise at McDs + benefits and they pay for college. McDs is $20/hr in LA. Crazy people would rather sell their bods on the street than work in fast food.

That part convinced me to go to church every sunday
what is moral...
That's the problem. Very few people are religious in US (in the cities). So they don't have a source of morality. Everything is relevant and demoralisation is on the rise.
Satan uses this world to try and twists our mind but our soul feels the absence of Jesus and we feel it when satan and evil is near. I know you said you don’t believe but what you said kinda proves that there is something out there that gives us morals and that had to come from something out of this world bc this world is evil. Moving out there to showcase your talents actually isn't the right approach. If you want to be heard you don't go to the place where the most noise is being made, you just get drowned out. So sorry that people cannot see the LA I grew up in middle class in the 50's & 60's. Yes it was a city of dreams but average people could afford to live there. Went to school and worked in downtown LA for 25 years and left. Had good friends went to high school and kept them. You could get along and even buy a house. You could go to Venice Beach and there were some people camping out but not homeless in large numbers. I use to cruise Hollywood Blvd in my 55 Chevy Bel Air out to Sunset Blvd and listen to AM rock radio. The Doors were playing Baby Light my Fire. It was a special time and place that will never return.

If you’re thinking about leaving your life behind without a plan and MANY back up plans DO NOT MOVE TO CALI. ESPECIALLY if you have nothing going for yourself… this isn’t the place you want to be to find yourself building yourself up, paying rent, bills and will just enough money for an emergency fund that will deplete quickly if it’s not at least $10k depending on how much your bills are as well… Cali is a great place to visit for a week
