Wow, that’s interesting history! You know, Sonny Barger, the famous (or infamous) leader of the Oakland California Chapter of the motorcycle group “Hells Angels”, died a couple of days ago! This video you just posted, makes me think about the long and storied history of motorcycle gangs in general! Thanks for sharing this moment in history Rich! Hope you had a safe n happy 4th 🗽🇺🇸🎆🎇
Twice in my life, members of that motorcycle club were my across-the-street neighbors. Like most things, I needed to reconcile or understand where I was going to put this in the context of me and my life. Most of us live within a community that has established a set of guidelines to interact. But within that community, there is a small percentage of individuals who have a different set of guidelines they operate with. There isn't just one subset, there are a variety of subsets. I don't know why this is. I just understand that's how it is.
I don't know how much actual/real "mayhem" happened then, but DO know the "infamous" (and often reproduced whenever Hollister is bright up) -- the fat guy sitting on the bike with the beer bottles all around him -- was staged by the press for a story. -- BR
Cool video 😅
