Very nice and fairly accurate with the exception of the staged photo that appeared in Life Magazine. As Chairman of the Hollister Independence Rally Committee (downtown venue) back in 1997 I was contacted by a life long friend of the man in the photo. He actually gave me the guys name which I can't recall at the time of writing this but have the email correspondence on an old computer I have stored away. The guy was nineteen years old at the time of the photo and was working in the shipyards in Long Beach California at the time. He was originally from Rockford Illinois. According to his life long friend his family actually disowned him after the photo appeared in the magazine. He died a few years before the 1997 Rally. One of the stories his friend shared with me was he actually pencilled in his mustache which you can clearly see in the original picture. There have been many myths about him. One is that the bike was borrowed and used for the staged photo, it was not, it was his motorcycle that he rode up on with friends from Long Beach. I offered to fly in his friend for the 1997 Rally and have him publicly tell the story. He declined due to his own health issues. I continued to contact him in the following years until he also passed away.

"A lot of people come here, whether they're on BMWs, Hondas, or Harleys." Yeah, well what happened to Triumphs? You know, "Triumph" the bike that Brando rode to your bar. Triumph was "the bike" back then. And, it still is today!
