And the way he talks. Ever since that episode of Justice League aired, I’ve had that tune in my head for quite a while. “Rain, rain, Go away, Little Johnny wants to play…”
Toyman in Superman: TAS is easily the best version of the character in my opinion. His design and mannerisms are in equal parts childlike and creepy uncanny, and his backstory was also really interesting.
I agree. He was creepy and mysterious. I liked BTAS more than Superman, but the first Toyman episode was real good. I think him and Metalo were the best villains in the Superman show.
My fav villain from the animated superman and JLU series. "A childhood is a terrible thing to loose miss Lane, but I'm getting mine back... with a vengeance"
I still get teary at the moment when he "Killed" Superman in Justice League. And when everybody is just like "....... did that just happen?!" and Flash trying to calm down Wonder Women.
From what I understand of his tech ability, he can create devices that are beyond even his understanding. He once "disintegrated" Superman with a disintegrator weapon. He didn't know he actually created a temporal weapon. Superman was transported to the distant future and found a way to jump back in time through a dispowered adventure.
Sort of Like a Superman version of The Ventriloquist and Scarface. Surprisingly dangerous for what amounts to a normal human with some fairly impressive gizmos and gadgets
Toyman was actually the villain of an issue that shocked me as a kid when he murders the son of one of Clark Kent’s coworkers. That was dark stuff even by 90’s standards. And I remember Superman bursting into Toyman’s hideout and being horrified to see him dressed up like a giant baby and how much he’s mentally regressed.

I was just watching the Superman Animated Series from 1996 for the first time and looked this up and you just uploaded it. I really appreciate these videos. Perhaps Purple Man and other unknowns from Earth's Mightiest Heroes, next? I already suggested on the website...
+Jordan From Krypton Yes, like toyman from animated show, who being control from their creator who resembles Otacon from Metal Gear Solid series who loves toy of modern era so be one Modern take on Toyman. Inspired by also Anime and Manga and video games. I forgot to add Comics. Use for DC movie universe. This version has sick mind who kill his own father with own toy version of himself and his father. "(World Class) Engineer of the year" as cover for his crimes. Who Lex Luthor best friend/rivalry during their University days. One is Genius-Eccentric Scientist and other genius Robotics/Computer Engineer.
In Superman (Vol. 2) # 84 (December, 1993), The Toyman (Winston Schlott) abducts and later murdered Adam Grant, the son of Daily Planet reporter Cat Grant. Adam and several other children were captured by Toyman tried to escape, but when Schlott found out and he stabbed Adam to death for being the leader of the group. This caused Schlott to developed a hatred of children, as he blamed them for not appreciating his toys. Later, in Superman (Vol. 2) #85, Cat Grant confronts him in prison that he cruelly tells her "You're a bad mommy. I'm glad I killed your son." The Toyman continues to taunt Cat for calling her an adulterer and an alcoholic. She pulls a gun out of her purse. Makes he beg for his life. She pulls the trigger but...the gun was just a toy.
I love Toyman because he weirdly grounds Superman. Even though Superman nowadays deals with extra terrestrial threats, and even his arch nemesis is literally the most powerful and influential, he’ll still occasionally have to deal with this random crazy human who’s gimmick is deadly toys. It kinda shows that even Superman isn’t above just the run of the mill wacky cartoon villains the DC world seems to have plenty of.
I once made a character based off toy maker from spy kids three I just used the name toy maker, the character is actually more like Dr wily then anything. Then I heard of toy man and realized I thought of a character similar without even knowing about toy man. I later called him toys commander as a reference to cobra commander. To describe him he’s basically a young prodigy due to his intelligence and when he was young decided to be a villain, he made his first two basic robots after killing his parents for getting in trouble for pulling a school prank and once he entered middle school started being a villain. He made his first robot henchman and called him mystery man as he based him off a character from a cheesey game show i made up in the same universe. After making his first robot henchman he made two more robots and they made the rest of the robot army. He makes machines usually based off toys like a giant teddy bear with a machine gun barrel in the torso and missiles that shoot out the hands like the Ed 209. He also makes weapons that are basic house hold objects and furniture. A main gimmick I gave the character is that some how one of his machines always end up somewhere like in a mall, or a court room and it leaves to question how on earth he managed to get it inside. He also has a sort of dr claw/ Michael myers vibe to him where he is always in a different location and his voice sounds different compared to his laugh. He also usually stays quiet but when he speaks he talks very sophisticatedly. As for his look he wears a plain gold colored mask with a black mask under so you can’t see his eyes and a long men’s blonde wig.

U know toy man is one my favorite dc super villain makes harmless little toys into deadly weapons guess that's the meaning to play nice with your toys.
Da only reason I watched dis is cuz Winn on Supergirl is da son of The First Toyman. But he's not mentioned in da Comics. Why isn't Winn mentioned in da Comics?!? Someone tell me!!!
As silly as Toyman first appears it's actually a very clever and dangerous way to commit crimes. Even a weaponized Toy Tank could be dangerous. All it takes is a few toys that can actually shoot. That one cop that picked up the toy tank gets shot right between the eyes and dies.
Toy man tries to kill Lex Luthor? In Supergirl circa 2020, Lex Luther brings Toyman from the future. He works with the heroes and doesn't seem particularly creepy. It's also revealed that he's a family man and works with Supergirl, Dreamgirl, and other heroes in the future.
The Toyman from the 90's Superman animated series and Justice League is the best version. Creepy and menacing.
Don’t forget about Static Shock
And the way he talks. Ever since that episode of Justice League aired, I’ve had that tune in my head for quite a while.
“Rain, rain,
Go away,
Little Johnny wants to play…”
Toyman in Superman: TAS is easily the best version of the character in my opinion. His design and mannerisms are in equal parts childlike and creepy uncanny, and his backstory was also really interesting.
I agree
Toyman was quite creepy in Superman TAS. he was more like a Batman-villain: mentally ill, no superpowers and relies on technical equipment.
No kidding, I loved him as a villain though. He also made apearances in Justice League and even Static Shock.
I agree. He was creepy and mysterious. I liked BTAS more than Superman, but the first Toyman episode was real good. I think him and Metalo were the best villains in the Superman show.
CampingMIG and they gave him an interesting backstory.
+CampingMIG nah, Darkseid and Lex were
+Merete Nora He was creepy in last night's episode of "Supergirl" too.
My fav villain from the animated superman and JLU series.
"A childhood is a terrible thing to loose miss Lane, but I'm getting mine back... with a vengeance"
@Mr Orc Shaman Rain, rain, go away. Little Johnny wants to play.
Yup Winslow got cheated out of his childhood.
I still get teary at the moment when he "Killed" Superman in Justice League.
And when everybody is just like "....... did that just happen?!" and Flash trying to calm down Wonder Women.
and that scene where the flash and the little girl hug
honestly I was pretty shocked too, 11 year old me did not expect him to die
@@raspberrycrowns9494 but he didn't he was just sent into the future.
@@brockragni1053 yeah
From what I understand of his tech ability, he can create devices that are beyond even his understanding. He once "disintegrated" Superman with a disintegrator weapon. Toyman is one of my favs...very underrate villain..I love all versions of him.
In superman doomsday, I thought that particular representation seemed more batman villain-y with killing a toddler and his general manner
I got that vibe too
I remember Toyman was once played by Sherman Hemsley (Mr. Jefferson) in Lois and Clark.
S. T. Striker If I recall correctly that episode also features a young Denise Richards.
Signed,
KG
I think I remember that too but it's been so long since I saw it.
Yeah, that was a Christmas episode
Toyman is the superman villian who creeps me out
Sort of Like a Superman version of The Ventriloquist and Scarface. Surprisingly dangerous for what amounts to a normal human with some fairly impressive gizmos and gadgets
But toyman was first idiot fatman fanboy
Hardly my point. All im saying is the guy is something like Ventriloquist and Scarface of Batman fame
Ismail Mounsif You call them a fanboy, but you are the one who's acting irrationaly.
My favorite Toyman moment was when he took out some of Darkseid's demons by shooting them with exploding suction darts.
I'm a big fan of the toy man I would love to see him in Superman movie
Toyman in Superman: TAS was creepy
He was
Nice to see Toyman finally being acknowledged by WM. Thanks for the video.

I would like to see Gary Oldman as the Toyman go up against Henry Cavill as Superman on the movie Man Of Steel 2.
Toyman from Superman TAS was the best! 👌
I like the justice league version

TOYMAN: WINSLOW PERCIVAL SCOTT.
CRIMES: MURDER, ATTEMPTED MURDER, THEFTS, CONSPIRACY, ECT.

They should use toyman in the DC movie universe.

Jordan From Krypton Thanks.
We will probably see soon in the DCEU :)
0:14 Hugh Laurie looks like he could play that guy!
I really liked Chris Gauthier as Toyman. Smallville has a list of bad casting of characters but they got Toyman very good.
Please do Killer Moth from Batman

The image of Toyman was completely different in Super Friends series.
What is the name of the comic in the minute 2:28?
MISTER FUCKING SINISTER. How have you not done this yet??
How about origins for The Doll Maker, Black Bat, Stephanie Brown and Owl Man?
It would be interesting to see Toyman appear as a DCEU villain, similar to the 97 Superman cartoon series.
Just like calendar man, he sounds like a robot master from megaman after they ran out of ideas.
My toyman will always be the one from the super friends.
I saw this coming for a long time.
Toyman sounds like he'd make a half decent Mega Man boss.

Can u do a origin story on black spider?
I prefer his design in Superman TAS, he looked creepy and cool
Who's the actor who played Toyman in Smallville?
Funny. I was reading about him yesterday.
A Criminal Who Invents Dangerous Toys As His Own Deadly Weapons Is Awesome!
Jack Nimball definitely had the coolest costume
So is the toy collector from the Batman TAS episode Beware The Gray Ghost considered a version of Toyman?
I promise I wasn't gonna say this. But that toy man dude use to scare the crap out of me when I was little. But now I find him cool, and awesome.
Why do I like the idea tat the Living Puppet thing best suits him
I remember seeing Toyman in the animated series. I had no idea who he was, at the time. Now I do. :)
Leave it to DC to come up with the creepiest super villains
I'd like to release crippling paralyzing gas as I make a mad dash for the greenbacks too.
He's quite unsettling in the Smallville series ;3;
Can you please upload a super villain origin video for Firefly. Thank you.
Can we please get a Superboy Prime origin?
He is awesome. (and needs to get out of the damn source wall)
But....If he gets out he might come for me I don't want to die again

Hey superman you know how you could have stopped the toy man, SNAP! lol
i still get scared of wind up chittering teeth because of this villain. he know what he invented!
That Smallville episode looks interesting, should I watch it?
This is so cool
Toyman is like the joker for Superman
0:06 OHH SHIT BALLON BOY
They should have used Walter Dunhill instead of Bruno Mannheim in Superman the Animated Series.
Toyman was my favorite villain from super friends
Hey yo try to do Kang the conqueror orgins cause I'm half confused with this guy.
How about top 10 most tragic superhero back story.
Toyman maybe creepy but he's no match for a superleader like Darksied
Have they done an origin for Wildcat?
Can you do a Humpty Dumpty (batman villain) origins
Da only reason I watched dis is cuz Winn on Supergirl is da son of The First Toyman. But he's not mentioned in da Comics. Why isn't Winn mentioned in da Comics?!? Someone tell me!!!
Now I feel bad, what a lonely soul.
Awww... no showing of the Superfriends version of Toyman.
The only incarnation of the toyman I know was from the Superman animated series and justice league.
Now I want to see one on Arcade for some reason.

Woop woop woop woop woop woop woop woop...!
Pretty creative character

Do Ragdoll next.
4 This Supervillain, Crime Is👦Play! Literally?
well at least in the animated series and the Smallville version his name remains the same Winslow Schott.
Do Swarm and Scarface.
Please!
Isn't dollmaker(or one of them at least) his son? and dollhouse (one of the dollmakers) his niece? and if so, I guess kids do take after the parents.
Please do a video on rag doll
He would be a dope marvel character
I hope that he shows up in the Flash or SuperGirl shows
He will be one of the main characters in the Supergirl show.
It took a while, but he finally arrived.
