This has got to be one of the best sounding races we've ever had on THIS vs THAT. Mao's Sheepey-built twin turbo Huracán is almost as loud as his outfit... and Ivan's Toyota Pickup has one rowdy twin turbo LS-swap, making the minitruck an absolute handful down the strip as well.

Grew up with an 89 Toyota pickup and that thing was sketchy with anything over 60mph. This man out here is insane putting 900hp in one and I am all here for it.
Really? Mine is fine up to 80 and that’s where it maxed out, the lil 22re couldn’t go any faster. In the middle of a 1uz swap now
my 89 hit 130 often. Thats about all the 22R would do.
@@boisebiker4713 I mean I have had mine up to 85 but it sure didn't enjoy it. Though it did have a roll bar, a bi9t of lift and mud tires so that didn't help its onroad behavior.

@@TRD_Kyle mine is lifted and on 33s soon to be on a solid axle and 35s. Those trucks where built pretty stout. i would guess something was up with your suspension or steering

I'd have issues paying so much for a build just to have it go into limp mode anytime I wanted to actually race it.

I don't think these guys understand what was said. They are like oh safety feature blah blah without understanding the dude just can't understand why so much money was spent for it to not be useable. Limp mode does not mean race mode.
@@thathemiguy your right, limp mode means you might still be able to drive it home, vs being a oil stain on the back of a flatbed. From the factory they spend millions and countless hours, days, years of R&D to make sure everything plays well or we'll enough with each other. A tuner does this in a mater of minutes maybe hrs all for a couple thousand dollars. With that said, I'll still take the limp mode over and ride my car home, vs my car being carried home.

I think it's rubbing off, less of the "chase is a race" leave early/finish first type of stuff from back in the earlier days...everyone just more professional, still messing around and still so much fun to watch every time
hahaha very true. What cracks me up is when they ask any question related to horse power , dyno , switches , etc like good cop bad cop and both jump in telling the driver he's lying about his numbers or whatever, like the two cops in the 1999 Mel Gibson movie Payback 😆.

That Lambo has an insane launch and the pickup had a insane boost when changing gear. Ultimately it was an even match and should of gone for a 40 roll to the 500.
If the Lambo didn't have that fuel cut issue, it would've absolutely decimated that pickup

Fr there's a 600hp difference and despite the lambo going limp, it still wasn't really pulling crazy on that pickup! I thought it would have been a night and day unfair race but surprisingly no. I think if that guy cab get a better suspension and perhaps push more weight towards the back then he definitely will get out the whole better and be less squirrely on the long run

Literally watch 10:29, the Lambo is pulling away like the truck is standing still...mind boggling how you think the truck had any chance. The only reason it won is because the Lambo cut power multiple times. I absolutely LOVE the Yoda, but you are braindead if you think its even remotely close to as fast as the Lambo.

Quick sidenote, forged carbon is NOT stronger than regular carbon fiber. Normally the weave is nice and orderly before they seal it in resin, whereas the process of making forged carbon just involves getting a bunch of loose carbon weave scraps and mushing them together (similar to how forging works in metalworking) and then adding the resin. Since they're not bound together in any meaningful way you're relying more on the strength of the resin than in regular carbon fiber thus making the end material quite a bit weaker.

This was a really fun matchup, and it's nice seeing the winner get safety gear as a prize. Wild sketchy builds are hilarious but there's no reason for you the driver to be unsafe
