Just finished watching your podcast and had to come and see what is up here. I also had a Pomeranian. They do bark at everything. We had a chi-poodle cross at same time. The barking was so bad but i would not have gotten rid of either of them. Will you put up a greenhouse for MaryCarl? I have not seen her orchids since you built the greenhouse for her. Just wondering.
Those look really good. I would put some skids under them myself. Get a little more height, adds weight that way harder to blow away. The new truck looks good as well. I honestly need a 1 ton myself but with the gas engine. A crew cab in a work truck package wouldn't be bad I think. Have a great weekend and week
You have so many Cute buildings on the original Cog Hill Farm, and I know when you're all done you'll have just as many cute little buildings on the 40! 💗
Farm owner/homesteader is farm manager and livestock psychologist. Who would have ever thought that investing in a sizeable land project and dealing with God's Creatures Great and Small would require so many hats!!!!!!!!!1🤨🤨🤨 Farmers/homesteaders are some of the smartest people on earth. Speaking from farming family roots from both parents.
Aren't those shelters going to bake in the hot sun? I'm hoping you have a plan to plant a number of shade trees -- the switch from your present farm to the new property is gigantic.
Step by step. You all have been finding some great deals! I love hearing your planning. You are very wise in your decisions. I'm glad you have an approximate date. Now you can know better how to put things into action. God bless.
You should get a bird gps tracker (it’s a real product!) for Scott when you think he is ready to be let out at the new place. Just to be extra super safe :)
Those Port-A-Huts are pretty cool? Will they get hot in the sun? If they're not tall enough to comfortably stand in for clean out, maybe make a frame to set them up on and use corrugated metal to cover the sides!
Love your podcasts and vlogs, I know you guys probably get that alot.. but everytime I open my youtube and see a new video from you guys, then its a start of a great day!!!
I like your truck. You can do more with that. Great! I like the steel shelters but I’ll throw out a suggestion: In your hot climate they may get very hot inside when in the sun, despite being open in the front. Hang a thermometer in there at goat height on a hot sunny day to check it. Metal heats up.
Just a suggestion for your new farm setup. Do a vision board like a map to follow with the actual size of the land and the size of the two homes, buildings, pens, bird sanctuary, etc. Including where the roads are, power lines, Internet, water lines, pond, orchards, forest, etc. This will give you all a great visual of how everything will come together when finished.
One thing I love about your current property is all the trees that offer so much protection from the heat for your farm animals. Once you decide on the permanent layout, will that include the planting of some large trees?
I agree with another viewer. Add lower walls to raise the height, add fence around a lil porch and these can be made permanent eventually. Can't wait to see all the buildings. The old ones are so cute, the new ones will be just as cute. Blessings 🙌 and continued prayers 🙏🏼
Jason, it’s so nice to see you back at it. I can tell by your voice, you’re still not 💯 %. Please don’t overdo, I’ve been hearing if you relapse it’s a lot more difficult to get well the second time. I wish I was healthy and 20 years younger, I’d be out there in a heart beat to do whatever you needed done. You guys are the best❤️💗
port a huts are wonderful for all kinds of animals, we have used ours for our goats & our miniature horses for over 20 yrs. now, we even had a tree fall on one of ours. Smashed it down a little but just got the sludge hammer and pounded it back in shape. The animals love them and so easy to move around plus hold up well under the tons of snow that we get her in Northern Michigan
@@bobbieyounce3851 Hi Bobbie, I'll have to go out & measure, they were called "hog" hut size when we bought them. We have seen as many as 5 minis squeeze in one of them
Would you have to suspend some shade cloth over those shelters to keep them cooler in the summer heat? If one end was a little open would that cool the inside a little?(cross ventilation) Blessings!
Wow-wee! Will those stay down in a storm? They look like they would take off in wind. Hopefully, you can place them in shade as well. Jason take it easy, you can hear your breathing on film. Please be careful. So glad you have a date. Time to start packing the out buildings and move them. Good luck.
I’m so happy to see you better ! I have been having a lot of issues with lung issues since I had covid19 ! I wake up with tons of fluid in my left lung every day and some days I can’t breath
Your channel should have 500K subscribers…Best channel on UA-cam, as well as podcast🙏. I can’t believe the Triad area of NC will have high temps in 70’s and low 80’s next week. A few days of hot, humid days this week, but a cooler July then normal. God blessings for your family.
But we have made up for those temps in the 80s this week. Ugghhhh, it's been 96-100 several days this week here is the triad. The humidity came back with a vengeance as well. The weird rolling temps those year has been crazy.
Hey yal!!! When you get to the new farm, and settled, consider some genies. Get them as chicks, give them lots of human contact as they grow, so that they know you. As they mature clip wings for first year or so. They can fly for a good ways. They are good for tick and fleas and mites. Feed them in same area and water in several places to mark their space. One rooster to about 6 hens.
Every single one of your animals was in the shade until you gave them their morning breakfast. And Nugget sees the 'no-see'ums' you can't see. Emus' eyesight is sharp!
I used those kind of humpies for my goats. I put a star dropper either side and tied then down with wire so they didn't take off in the wind. I had Nubians and yes the young ones used to jump on the top🤦♀️
I’m interested in watching the process of your move. There’s lots of planning and work involved! I’ve been watching Roots and Refuge in their move-more miles than y’all have but just as challenging .
So awesome! Glad you are feeling and looking better Jason! Mrs Cog Hill I think you are just amazing! (not sure if your name is Brook, or Brooke and I did not want to type it wrong) I love how you guys are honest about how you are not going into debt. Love your content! Praying your move goes smoothly, your house can be built quickly, and that the animals love being moved to the 40!
I hope y’all get a headache rack for your truck to protect your rear window. You should still be able to use a tonneau cover with it. Hauling stuff in your move , you don’t want to break out the rear window of the truck. Plus it makes it a real farm truck !!! 😃👍. Y’all have a blessed day !
My goodness, how are you going to get all the ducks and geese over to the new farm? I can see how you can get the chickens over because they are pretty contained but the other fowl are everywhere.
P.E.I._Kathryn - Maybe they'll set up some portable fencing and lure them all in there with their morning breakfast and then close it, making the area smaller. Then collect them.
Oooow things are getting real now Jason and Brook and Marycarl of course ;) I feel for you though as any moving is stressful and you have the added stress of moving animals, looking forward to the next video and Jason,,,,Y'all be good lol
You will need to put Posts on each side of the Open End to tie them down, or they will tip over in a Strong Wind, also wouldn't hurt to put those Sun Shades over them as they will get Hot :-) also have you taken some Cuttings of your Rose Bush to Plant at the New Farm??
It’s great to see things moving forward for you. Now the work begins. I can’t imagine how you will catch the alarm system. Love your family and your videos.
Jason...now your a U Tube full time professional video grapher how about each of yall getting your own camera and with yer editing skills putting them together into one vid...LOL
Plans, plans, plans and going forth on your huge, huge, huge journey. Yes!
I love old farm that time best videos we watch when you woke up and do your daily routine 😢😢
I know you know all this but I sure hope they have plenty of access to the wooded area for shade...the pasture looks so exposed!
Let the farm begin! Those are great and will last a very long time.
Those look really good. I would put some skids under them myself. Get a little more height, adds weight that way harder to blow away. The new truck looks good as well. I honestly need a 1 ton myself but with the gas engine. A crew cab in a work truck package wouldn't be bad I think. Have a great weekend and week
I’m very happy for you. Great start!
Hey ! Good morning Cog Hill Family and thumbs UP to you !
Oh my gosh! Where’d y’all get that bobbin rooster on your dash? I want one!!!
Does Mary cross have to go to a different school I said that the prices for trucks at rippled even my 1979 Ford is worth a lot more money
Farm
1 for boy goats, 1 for girl goats, 1 for MaryCarl, 1 for grandma...
So glad to see you active again Jason !! You look like you are feeling much better ! But still don't overdo in that heat !!!
You have so many Cute buildings on the original Cog Hill Farm, and I know when you're all done you'll have just as many cute little buildings on the 40! 💗

Mrs Cog Hill sure is a hard worker! She’s a keeper for sure Jason! ♥️♥️
Those are pretty nice! You could even mount those on a wooden frame with wheels to make them mobile if you wanted to move them around.
Step by step. You all have been finding some great deals! I love hearing your planning. You are very wise in your decisions. I'm glad you have an approximate date. Now you can know better how to put things into action. God bless.
I just enjoy your family so much and enjoy your the time you share with me.
You should get a bird gps tracker (it’s a real product!) for Scott when you think he is ready to be let out at the new place. Just to be extra super safe :)
I hope for Scott's sake ,he doesn't want to challenge Nugget.
I would never think I would enjoy watching someone feed their animals, but I love your show, why ? You ask your so soothing to listen to
Right
I feel the same way. It's not this interesting when I feed at water my turkeys and chickens in the morning.
Yes I agree
Upbeat, positive and happy 😚🤗
I know I feel that way about 3/4 of them
Those Port-A-Huts are pretty cool? Will they get hot in the sun? If they're not tall enough to comfortably stand in for clean out, maybe make a frame to set them up on and use corrugated metal to cover the sides!
They are just unloading them there. And the bottom have tracking that you can raise them on poles/stakes to make them taller.
And the dream begins. I love it. GO FOR IT.
Just finished the podcast that was post 10hrs ago and now the vlog..Saturday morning is awesome watching both...Yay!!!
Love your podcasts and vlogs, I know you guys probably get that alot.. but everytime I open my youtube and see a new video from you guys, then its a start of a great day!!!

Love how you keep the feeding and water containers so clean! Makes my heart happy! You are awesome farmer's!
If you decide on a permanent spot for those shelters you could just build little stem walls and make them tall enough to walk right into.
One thing I love about your current property is all the trees that offer so much protection from the heat for your farm animals. Once you decide on the permanent layout, will that include the planting of some large trees?
The trees won’t be large enough in their lifetime.
two vlogs from Cog Hill in one day - that makes it a great day.
I agree with another viewer. Add lower walls to raise the height, add fence around a lil porch and these can be made permanent eventually. Can't wait to see all the buildings. The old ones are so cute, the new ones will be just as cute. Blessings 🙌 and continued prayers 🙏🏼

"Where there's a will there's a way ". You both work so very well together. 💞
Love the new truck! That was such a great find Brooke! 😎🇺🇸

What size do you use for your mini horses? My daughter has mini horses and Nigerian Dwarf goats.
One more project accomplished. Onward y’all go.

Patt Dunn - I saw at the bottoms where you can anchor the sides to the ground.
I’m so happy to see you better ! I have been having a lot of issues with lung issues since I had covid19 ! I wake up with tons of fluid in my left lung every day and some days I can’t breath
So sorry about that.

For small chicken houses try Lowe’s or Home Depot for medium garden sheds they can save you time!
I still can’t believe you’re leaving your beautiful property. So pretty with all the surrounding trees and creek!
I know 😏🥰
I agree…..they have such a secluded farm now and all their animals are going to go thru a huge change…especially Nugget and Peaches.

I love those Porta Huts! Looks really good & well made. The goats are going to be living in style!
One of my BIL worked for PortaHut for many years. Hope the goats enjoy their new homes :)
Those huts are great. Put railroad tie on each side raising off ground. Leave end open for ventilation.
Jason, ur like a new man. Dude, you were really hurtin there for awhile.
Every single one of your animals was in the shade until you gave them their morning breakfast. And Nugget sees the 'no-see'ums' you can't see. Emus' eyesight is sharp!
I always enjoy seeing Nugget get taken out of the pen but would love to see how y’all get him in!!! That has to be some kind of strategy!!
They employed their Secret Weapon - Mary Carl , the Bird Whisperer.
Lol
He actually goes in, on his own, at night!
It's in this video. Mary Carl walked him right in
Thanks everyone! I saw their secret weapon just walk him in!!! (Right after I posted my query!!) lol
i love coghill farm and i could watch nugget all day
Looking good. I bet the animals will love wherever you put them.
You are my light in the world these days
I love watching your videos. Thank you for being who you are. You show what families ought to be.
Thank you for showing the animals just doing what they do!
This move might be hard on the animals. I'm so nervous for y'all
The animals will be fine. Roots and Refuge just moved their farm and animals 700 miles. 👍
put wheels on the bolted wood frame added to the portaHuts so they are even easier to move around to take advantage of the property
This is actually your step 2 of moving, step one was buying the camper. Keep up the awesome job love your alls video
I really do appreciate the opportunity you give me to be a “part” of the Cog Hill Family. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers
The lawn is growing awesome :) I love you guys always talking to your animals cause I do that too ❤
So excited for you all, thanks for allowing us to follow along your journey.
So awesome! Glad you are feeling and looking better Jason! Mrs Cog Hill I think you are just amazing! (not sure if your name is Brook, or Brooke and I did not want to type it wrong) I love how you guys are honest about how you are not going into debt. Love your content! So glad you are feeling almost back to yourself jason
Yes after 20 years with the same truck we just broke pur rear window. Just as we are trying to sell it and $500 later
Then collect them.
if you put them up on wheels they will be really easy to move around
Best time of the week.... New Cog Hill Video..... I can't wait!!!!!
so happy for you guys!! I love how all of you always look so genuinely happy!!!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Nugget has to sample all the feed. haha
🤣🤣🤣
Exactly he is the Inspector Nugget (instead of Inspector Gadget) and Scott the Peacock Tommy 🦃 🦃 are SO FUNNY TO WATCH DEBBIE from Texas
he doesn't have his own feeder, that's why.
I just love watching you all, it’s exciting watching you getting ready to move ❤️🇬🇧 x
i think the animal will be fine as long as their with the coghills
The goats will love it! Things are happening fast! God bless your family!
Awesome…you’ll be on the 40 in no time! I can hardly wait.
I am so thankful I have FINALLY aligned myself with this kind of living...thank you always, for sharing...
Nice shelters glad you found such a deal for the goats. Now get some trees around them because roast goat isn't very good.
Since you’re going to have the peacocks in a run can’t Tommy and his girls run free while the peacocks are being home trained?
Coyotes...
I ❤️ MaryCarl’s new house!!! 😂😂😂
The Great Mayberry build begins LOL! Take care, God bless 👍🏻✌️
Oooow things are getting real now Jason and Brook and Marycarl of course ;) I feel for you though as any moving is stressful and you have the added stress of moving animals, looking forward to the next video and Jason,,,,Y'all be good lol
Awesome Guys!!! I'm So Excited for You!! Have a Wonderful Weekend and God Bless!! 😀⚘❤
I am so happy that you are getting there love watching yuall. Love and prayers ❤️❤️🙏🙏
…and everything else. That’s how our “to do” list goes. Keep moving forward.
I want to see the whole catch all the birds, haul and release! Time lapse maybe. I’m sire it will be a hoot!
Those are nice. I could use two or three of them.
You need to order forks for the front of tractor bucket. I ordered from Amazon and it was the best thing I did for the farm
OMG That's where we live. They are great people there at Patrick Trailers. ❤️
They were super!
You will need to put Posts on each side of the Open End to tie them down, or they will tip over in a Strong Wind, also wouldn't hurt to put those Sun Shades over them as they will get Hot :-) also have you taken some Cuttings of your Rose Bush to Plant at the New Farm??
Yeah yall convinced us...we will be getting some huts for sure
It’s great to see things moving forward for you. Now the work begins. I can’t imagine how you will catch the alarm system. Love your family and your videos.
Georgia, I'd pay to watch those 3 catching The Alarm System! (Grin)
How will nugget be able to do his morning runs
We can't wait to get our animals and start that part of our little farm.
Wow when u guys bought the land I thought it would be a year before u guys go over to it moving quick .
Awesome yall. I think yall are doing the right thing and going with movable shelters to start with.
Jason...now your a U Tube full time professional video grapher how about each of yall getting your own camera and with yer editing skills putting them together into one vid...LOL
Still watching and you two work so well together, Unlike Mrs. Twin Creeks and I.
Good move on the truck too.
We are still praying for you Brooke and family....frame. And Grammy
