- Ever since I covered the best moms in fighting games, it was only natural that I’d followup with the best dads in fighting games. Same rules as the last list, where they’re parenting skills, backstory, and moveset factor in the most to their rankings. However, since there were more dads than there were moms in fighting games, there’s also a one per series of origin restriction to share the love. My mom joins as a cohost for this list to add to the parental influence.

Dong Hwan being the rebellious older brother who goes against his father to prove he's not always right
And Jae Hoon who is obedient and really admires his father wanting to become just like him and is grateful for the way his father treats him.

Johnny Cage is definitely one of the top Dads for me considering how much he developed because of it. I really enjoyed this list. I hope you are your mom have a pleasant Father’s Day in memories of your Dad. You have my condolences as well.

or
C. Who gives a hecc either way? your mom is an amazing mom

My mom writes all her own lines. She even has a word doc for each video. Our sense of humor may be similar since I got part of mine from my parents. I'll generally fill her in on backstory that wasn't shown in gameplay or story modes, but what she says are all her thoughts.
Excellent video. I have an idea to keep this series going. How about the top 10 siblings in fighting games? You can even do a seperate list for brothers and sisters and have your own siblings (if you have any) co host..if not, PLEASE bring your mom back!
Honestly it seems like Ken and Johnny Cage have the most growth in any fighting game I think they deserve the top spot

I really got into fighting games with MK9, with my two mains being Sonya and Johnny. I really grew to love both characters and they've always had a strong place in my heart. When MKX dropped and Cassie was revealed it kind of blew my mind and told me I had a new main. I'm with you in that I really love New Johnny's treatment in the series even if some other choices in the rebooted timeline were... uh... questionable at best.

An aside l like the sibling relationship between Daigo and Akira in Rival Schools and for other family members outside the nail focus would be Ken and Ryu's senses who a father figure in Gouken. Finally for families even if it is not by blood relationship would be the Jolly Pirates of Johnny of Guilty Gear. Cheers!

Sorry to hear you lost your dad man. Know what that's like as my dad passed away last fall but hey you and your mom make good hosts. Also totally agree on Johnny Cage being the number one video game dad. Yeah he can be embarassing and a show off but they make it clear not only how much he loves Cassie but how important their relationship is. And honestly it's nice to see a story where the MOM is the one whose too busy with work and duty that leads to a divorce or issues and not the other way around.

Back when I announced it in 2018 as an update just so everyone would know why video production had to slow down at the time, I got a massive amount of support and kindness from the community, and I'm happy to see everyone still has the same compassion. And I've always admired how modern Mortal Kombat has very realistic relationships for the human character and strays away from cliche parent relationship using Johnny. Even though they focus a lot of the Special Forces gang in recent games over some of the other lore, I like the way they're portrayed when they get the screen time.
@@MrTopTenList I admit I've only been a subscriber recently and though been aware of you for awhile took me a bit to really get in as I'm weird like that even with youtubers I really enjoy so yeah still haven't gone through your full backlog but may do so if I find time at some point. And yeah do like the stuff they do with the special forces in the latest MK games... some of the other story stuff I'm not a fan of. Making Sindel full on evil and where they took her plot in Aftermath was so not a fan of and feels like a betrayal of her character... hmmm that's a list actually. "Top 10 characters from fighting games who were horribly retconned" or something like that.
@@DianaGohan Great to have you on board! I understand that newer viewers won't know the history of the channel and I'm glad you're catching up. I agree with you on Sindel. I generally praise isolated parts of the modern MK story since they've done more help than harm to the lore, but some of the retcons are pretty bad. On my Fighting Game Moms list, I talk about Sindel and how I hope the retcon is just for MK11 and she gets changed back. Sindel is probably my second favorite MK character and I essentially just acknowledge the MK3/Deception part of her story as the main story when going into what I love about her, alongside the fun powers.
Having your mom on is super cute. She sounds like she really knows her stuff and loves what you do. I'm sorry about you dad. He raised a cool dude. Sol would actually be Sin's grandfather. He made the Gears with Justice (Dizzy's mom turned mech-thing). So, for me he's raising his grandson. Their Thanksgiving's must be odd.

I generally like this list. I didn't expect some of the picks and glad they showed up. I may love Ky but Sol stepped up...sorta like doing what he couldn't do for his daughter. Johnny is also an option as the girls of the Jellyfish Pirates he adopted and most likely why he will never look at May the way she looks at him. BlazBlue now that you mention it doesn't have many dads and Relius is Goku tier. One more possible dad to look at could be Takuma because I understand SNK loves dads and your list can't be just SNK. Not for nothing, but sol, I feel, would have been the better choice. As Dizzys dad he’s done a crap ton of things to protect her. The fact that sin is his grandson just gave him all the more reason to protect him.

Actually in the Tekken 4 story Lili beat Forrest in a street fight to get his invitation to the King of Iron Fist Tournament. I guess Namco was afraid of pissing off fans by passing the torch to Forrest or they didn't know what to do with him. I wouldn't have mind him coming back in Tekken 5 since his loss to Lili would have motivated him to enter the tournament. Who knows. Maybe he'll come back in Tekken 8.

I agree with that! I was going to add him to the honorable mentions segment, but since I was just talking about characters whose fighting game of origin was covered I omitted him since I didn't want to confuse anyone by including him with the King of Fighters origin guys. Still, he deserves his shoutout!
Btw I'm trying to find an obscure PS1 Japan only fighting game that has...well....photo mechanics to put it mildly.
Might've seen it here or somewhere else but if you happen to know what its called lemme know..
EDIT: Found it. Its apparently a doujin game and its called Line-Kill Spirits. And the Two best friends played it on their last Fisticuffs.

@@BJGvideos Thanks! I spent a lot of time in the character creator/costume editor when Soulcalibur V came out (mostly to make copies of existing fictional characters) so I like to show off my custom costumes or characters in each video that uses b roll from SCV.

In a way I understand and question why jubei from blazblue is not here in the list (even though nine the phantom was in top moms in fighting games) because he is a cat and everyone are humans. People might question this how he is a dad

Hello Everyone I'm Prime Zero L from looking at this video I would say what a better way to watch this video on Father's Day knowing my Dad is a good person in the family and also knowing he is formally a High School Wrestler and formally U.S. Military Airborne Paratroopers after high school and then a formally Landbacker Football Player during his College Days and after that formally Amateur Boxer during after his College Days and since after hearing all of his storys he became inspiration for me to create a character in my book of a fighter character that is a Pro at: Boxing + Wrestling &+ Football Skills, but the name part is a little difficult for me right now so that I'm still thinking about it and knowing this character is base off of my Dad knowing he is best thing that ever happen in my life and sure we may had bad times but we know when to have good times by forgiving each other and others I may had lost my Mom but I still have my Dad and I will always will I just hate to see him join her one day but I will always keep the good memories of him and Mom and along with others that had left the life they once had with me and the family but one for sure I always have the memories and some of you Fans & Players & People would have to at least agree with me on that one.!?¡¿ ♤♡♧◇🤼♂️👨✈️🏈🥊✌👍👍
