Ohhh I'm so glad I found someone who has been in both Accounting and Finance. I am currently in an Accounts Receivable Role while going back to school for my MBA. I'm becoming more interested in being a Financial Analyst than an Accountant. I have a very data-analytical mind, but I wouldn't mind handling the daily accounting transactions. I'm not sure what to do lol.

MBA! 👏🏾👏🏾 my advice is go with what feels right when it comes to employers and take advantage of internships so you can get a feel for the work before you commit. But both careers are interchangeable in my opinion especially with that mba in your back pocket 🥳
@@LifeofReHC Thank you so much! I've been talking to both of my managers about my next steps during our one on one meetings. I have a Financial Reporting Manager and a Senior Accountant. They are going to give me both accounting and financial analysis tasks to do with the upcoming year, so I can get a feel of both sides. I decided to go back, so I can have a better advantage for promotions and higher salaries. My MBA concentration is Accounting, but i'll be finishing a year early, so I thought about adding a Data Analytics concentration.

New subscriber and I loved this video! I just finished my first internship in public accounting (audit) and WOW these people work a lot. I'm going to grad school now, so I'm trying to decide if I want to stay in public accounting. Also love the advice you gave during you're lunch break! Work life balance is something I value too.

I’m heading towards my last semester of my senior year of my accounting degree. Girl I’ve had two internships and there’s no way I could input transactions everyday 😩 I’d love to do some business analysis instead.
Lol internships are eye-opening okay. Sounds like you may be a better fit for the consulting/strategy side. Also congrats on being almost there! You did that! 👏🏾🎓🙌🏾

Hi. Being a Finance Analyst, is there a lot of talking on the phone with clients? I have an Accounting degree but i have extreme social anxiety+introverted and so looking to get into a field that does not involve talking on the phone, but i'm clueless. xx
Hi! I do think there’s a high level of team and client interaction but more so emails & online meetings. I would suggest aiming for a fully work from home job to cope with your anxiety. you got this 🫶🏾

Definitely up to you!! I think commerce is still a beneficial and versatile degree but it depends on where you see yourself down the road. More times than not, a business degree leads to some likelihood of success 👍🏾
I have an interview for an financial analyst tomorrow and its new to me. I have experience as a performance anaylst and a trading analyst. Any tips?
That’s awesome! My advice would be to use your previous analyst positions to your advantage! It shows that you would have a keen eye on any task given - hope it all goes well! 🥳

Hey there! My job is more accounting and finance than anything. I do think it’s possible but you may have to do some accounting courses or an accounting certification to better your chances - hope that helps & best of luck 😊
I’m currently in audit looking for a switch into financial analysis. Do you recommend this move? I personally find the tasks of auditing mundane and personally just not very interesting. Do you find financial analysis more interesting?

Yea I definitely get it and that’s one of the main reasons why I wanted to pivot from audit. It gets monotonous. I would definitely say financial analysis has been way more interesting and challenging especially when working in an industry that I have interest in understanding 😊 hope that helps and all the best. 🫶🏾
