What is the best scanner for engine parts and gearbox housings and cylinder heads? Is the HX best for this? And how small of a hole will it accurate scan?

Best would be FreeScan Combo in my opinion. You have the best entering in holes and channels.

Better than an EinScan HX but not at the level of an UE Pro but still very good

The UE Pro has more than double cam resolution and an internal photogrammetry. The Combo go a fan to level inside temperature instead a very expensive composite bone for the thermal stability.@@brezovprut4431
