    I installed the spoiler this past weekend with my dad, we used this video to help with instruction along with Hondas instructions. We were super nervous about drilling the holes but it came out perfect!! If anyone installs this at home I would recommend that you leave the gaskets in the sun for a few minutes before installing them, it made them go in a lot easier! You could also put just a tiny bit of Vaseline on them to help slide into place. All in all it was a great experience and great bonding time! Good luck to anyone who does this at home, just have faith and take your time to make sure you do everything correctly!!

    Just got my HPD spoiler installed on my 22 boost blue hatchback for $600 at dealer...$399 for spoiler and $179 for 1 hour labor that took them 5 hours to install it...happy with the spoiler...

      The spoiler makes this hatch in my opinion. It looks nowhere NEAR as good without it, and I’m not usually a big spoiler fan! I did the whole HPD package for $799 plus labor install ($1100 total) but anyone who buys this hatch needs at LEAST the spoiler, which is $399 dealer price plus install.

    • @bojax3434
      @bojax3434 Рік тому

      And the Spoiler addition actually includes an upgraded hydraulics on the hatch as well, I guess dude to the weight change. But these are MYCH beefier than the standard hatch hydraulic.

    Thanks for the video! I work at a honda dealership and I just bought a 22 hatch sport and was curious on what they have to do for the spoiler. Not sure why they say it takes them 4 hours but they only get paid for 1. Seems pretty straight forward, scariest part would be drilling the holes.

    I'm in the process of doing this now and drilling the large holes through the plastic without scratching the metal surface underneath is nealy impossible. As a result, I touched up the damaged metal surfaces with Black Rustoleum 2X Primer Paint in Gloss Finish. You won't see it, but it's my OCD kicking in. Plus, it insures no rust in the future. As for the rubber/foam spacers, I may try to lift up the plastic hatchback surface with a plastic trim tool to make sliding them in a little easier. I'll report back if it works.

    Just used this video as well to install my spoiler on my 23 civic was easier than expected even the drilling portion, its hard to miss the placement of the holes with the tensile. DONT go to a shop and pay 400$ to get it done just do it yourself.

    I prefer the Duck tail spoiler. It's a genuine part in Europe, unfortunately you cannot buy it in the US. However I do know that there is a Honda dealership who will import it into the US. Google search Cox Honda UK. You can get it in Grey, Blue, Red, White and Black already painted AND matched perfectly to your original paintwork. Honda don't do different shades for different markets around the world. Honda use the same paint on the Hatchback for worldwide. Search 2023 Honda civic Hatchback ducktail spoiler.

      Honestly the best place seems to be the dealerships for a lot of these. Most the body shops I’ve called (in Kentucky at least) want $500 or so just for the spoiler. Dealership here said they’d do it for $175. I guess with techs trained on how to do it it’s easier for them to charge less than some of these shops that have never done it before. Which, in that case, I’d trust myself doing it just as much as someone else who is going to read the same instructions and watch the same instal videos 😂

    You guys are using the drill wrong, hence the rough looking holes. You don’t go in with slow rpm with the drill bit already touching. You go full throttle high rpm and then slowly work your way in with your hand on the drill. The lower the bit speed the rougher the hole edges will look. Then you can skip that whole deburring with a razor. Super cringe watching you use that drill.

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  Рік тому

      But you only drill out surface layer so going fast might hit lower trunk.
