Thanks for your wand videos. They help to reinforce things I know and teach me things I don't. I've wanted to do my own videos, and this just might inspire me to get that project going.
Thanks for the support! I find myself watching random maker vids all the time. You never know when something totally unrelated to what you do may inspire an idea.
Highly recommend you add links to products. I came to the comments to buy the paint pen, sadly, there were no affiliate links. Great work, love the videos. Help yourself out and add a few links to make a little bit of money too!
Wish I was popular enough for things like affiliate links, but no such luck...LOL I use the gold and silver extra fine point paint markers made by Pilot. I couldn't find them on their website, but here is a link to an Amazon seller: www.amazon.com/Pilot-Metallic-Permanent-Markers-41400/dp/B0058NNA74/ref=sr_1_2?crid=DCS1U1D9VQCJ&keywords=Pilot+Gold+and+Silver&qid=1707877034&sprefix=pilot+gold+and+silver%2Caps%2C465&sr=8-2
Sort of. One of the things I currently playing with is mica powder. My intent is expand to color shifting options as well once I settle on a method and application I like. One of the things in the pipeline I guess, but right now I have way too many wands in stock. I have a show coming up the end of March though. Hopefully I can make some room in inventory and afford to continue experimenting. LOL
I have a link to a recent vid about options for altering wood color in the description if you'd like to check it out. I've tried different dyes, but found Feibing's leather dye to work quite well with a proper finish coat to prevent it rubbing off. I discuss it as an option in the linked video and explain in more detail.
Awesome! I only use the alcohol based dyes as it suites my leather working needs, so if you ever try any oil dyes, let me know if they work as well. A further tip: i find using light red or kelly green still tend to be darker than I like on both leather or wood, but that cutting them with about 50% yellow works great. It's interesting to me how much leather and wood have in common. I often think of leather as "wood fabric" LOL

Thank you, truly, for sharing your techniques. God bless!
Very attractive wand. Have you tried color shifting gilding flakes? They might look great on that style of wand.

I think the bleaching turned out great for this project, and I really like the silver pen addition.
Thank you. I'm really looking forward to playing with some other color options in the future.
What type of dye do you use?

@steampunkedout thank you so much, I work with leather, so I have a lot of hat dye already. You are a real inspiration.
