I remember a time when they used to sweep the roadway like that after an accident, here in MA. Seems these days they just leave everything right in the roadway, especially in the larger cities. I went through an intersection the other day, and there was side molding from 2 different vehicles, plus piles of yellow and red reflector material dead in the center of the roadway - wasn't there a few hours earlier when I had passed in the opposite direction. Seems nobody cares anymore around here ... :(
I always enjoy the ride to the scene as much as watching you work. The lights and siren gets the adrenaline going, as if I were there with you. :)
Also great to see you look out for your fellow man like you do. May the Lord keep you all safe.
I am very humbled by your kind comments. I often just stop when I read the comments and think, "wow, maybe this IS what I am supposed to be doing." Thanks for that! God bless and thanks for watching (and riding along with us).
I believe it is, Ron - no question about it, at least from where I'm sitting. :)
Even though I've always dreamed of living somewhere farther South or West, I believe I'm where I'm supposed to be as well. Too many great things have happened leading up to, and since I've moved to where I am now. The Good Lord sure has a way of surprising us when we least expect it. :)
Ron Pratt ... Sadly there is no way to prove how much impact both you and your videos have had, or the # of lives your efforts have saved. I recently spent some time helping a youth with a new learning permit driving in parking lots and less traveled roads. (Seems her parents could not be bothered and she needed the experience and accompanying confidence. Sad but true.) I sent her the link to your channel before our adventure and suggested a few videos in particular (prom night & drinking, this one, etc,) so we could discuss them. She was angry that vehicles would not move over for ALL vehicles with sirens and lights. I explained I was proud of her anger, it indicated she was respectful and that would make her a better and much safer driver. I also suggested she direct that anger into spreading the word with others and using it as a teaching tool. She called herself 'Ron's Ambassador'. I was so proud of her I actually shed a tear or three.
In spite of all the time and effort you put into your channel I believe your impact is well beyond anything you might imagine. You are certainly to be admired, and you are.
faye austin You say you shed a tear. So did I when I read this. You have no idea how much this means to me. My wife and I were talking about how this channel has seems to have touched so many people from across the world. I receive comments, such as yours that touch me deeply. I receive messages and phone calls and letters. I have people praying for my safety and the safety of my crew. I have people sending me items that they have made or purchased simply because they think it will help make my job safer, easier, or quicker. People send me personal items, some hand-made, like the poster from Mathew. Just yesterday I received a gift of a hand- made, leather-bound journal from Argentina with a cross and an inscription on the first page stating "May God bless you!! Ron Pratt". I was and still am humbled, grateful, bewildered.....that people take the time to think of me in such ways. It is overwhelming and hard to believe at times. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. May God bless and protect you and the young lady that you were helping.
Ron Pratt did the officer say the driver of the second vehicle was going to Jail ?
7:25 "we thought he was gonna be alright and drive that one off, but he's not and now he's going to jail" LOL! Loved that
Yeah, I don't know exactly what happened, but it didn't end well for the other driver. Thank you for watching and God bless.
DUI
The different angle showing Mikes work while still having your audio is a nice touch. 👌
A boss commands his employees from behind his desk. A LEADER gets down and dirty alongside his employees and you, Ron Pratt, are a damn great leader! Keep up the great work and God Bless!
Thank you and I am humbled by those words. I wouldn't ask my guys to do anything I either haven't done or wouldn't be doing right along side them. I do appreciate the compliment. God bless.
Ron Pratt You are very welcome! Also I got the Midwest Truck hat today in the mail!! Representing you in St. Louis!
I like Raymond ,, he hustles , hes there getting stuck in when others are just stood waiting for Ron to say something , he picks up on what you want very quickly
Very Professionally Done and, As Always, SAFETY FIRST.
Thank you very much. God bless.
Mr RON PRATT, I like your videos and I pray May God Be With You & Protect you .
I like how you teach and explain everything thing to your new driver's we need more people like you teaching how to tow and be safe my son been towing for years. You all be safe
Thank you very much for the kind words. I pray your son stays safe as well. God bless.
Hey Rotator Ron! Perhaps Your slogan should be " Slow down! Move over! AND LEAVE THE DANG KEYS IN YOUR WRECKED VEHICLES!
Should be the DAD-GUM KEYS!
People aren't thinking the clearest after an accident - habit takes over.
also, i bet a lot are thinking they need there house keys, and or other vehicle keys and yes, most are probably as ickipoo said, just habit
I like that slogan......might not fit on a shirt very well, but I like it. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Oh yes, I like this even better. Dad-Gum it anyway. LOL Thanks for the chuckle today. God bless.
The more I see of Mike in your vids, the more impressed with his work ethic. I would hire him any time.
I can tell Safety is #1 on Ron's mind, always watching out for his men.
He has been around this type of work all his life and never been run over. He didn't get that way by taking chances.
The more I see of Mike the more I'm impressed with his work ethic. I'd hire him any day.
I agree
Thanks fer taking us along Ol Pal. Not appreciating that siren too much myself. I know you need it to get on scene quickly. ( Code 3 ).... Thumbs up Bud.
Thank you for continuing to watch. Yes that siren gets a bit loud and annoying but does the trick. God bless.
As a truck driver I appreciate the work y’all do but most of all I appreciate that you let ppl know that you believe in God thank you
Top notch Ron,Safety first,I notice anyone with you, you are alway's making sure their reminded safety is first,I hope Raymond is as aware out there as you..Congrat's Raymond on your new job..Take Care out there..
Thank you for the kind words and I will pass along the congratulatory comment to Raymond. He is proving to be a good worker for sure. God bless.
Ron, Raymond will do just fine just keep teaching.
Anyone notice when Ron was talking about the keys for the Buick he sounded just like Jeff Foxworthy? Just thought that it was kinda funny. Also thank you Ron for the videos and also for the respect you show not only the people your dealing with in real life at that moment but also with us as the viewer. I really have a lot of respect for you and your team. God bless to you, your family, and to your team.
Chris
wow they are being nice you got through the lights with almost no issue I can't even do that in a fire truck sometimes!
John Greer isn’t that the truth... that’s when you lay on the Q pedal lol
“Got your camera going” *mike nods* “HIIIII” hahaha that amused me
Great video once again! The best part was, 10:08 "THEY ALWAYS TAKE THE KEYS!" lol
Hey, at least there weren't any overhead power lines in a position to cause them grief for once.
watching from nova scotia , canada, amen
Great team work ! Greetings from Holland Ron and thanks for your nice words yesterday.
Another interesting job.I like the way you teach the safety part of the job.Gotta always keep your eyes all around you.Keep up the good work.
Thank you and yes, safety is essential to make it home to your family. God bless and thanks for watching.
Until I started watching ur Channel Ron I didn't know tow trucks had sirens. I knew they had lights on top. U & Raymond did a great job. God Bless
This must be an older video if you were training Raymond. Raymond is a good hand and can anticipate what is needed next.
You are a lucky Man Ron. Your low esteem is to be judged at a later time. May God Bless You.
LOVE the dual cameras! Switching between them, the editing, and as always, your professionalism. Stay safe boys!
Your level of respect toward other people is amazing!
Thank you so much. I appreciate that more than you know. God bless.
Ron Pratt example...
Dang Mikey's truck is diiiiiiiirty must be working it hard.
I work him pretty hard at times. God bless.
Another great job done Ron and mike.
1st class as usual Ron,
SAFE, efficient and professional.
Best to you and your crew from here
2 thumbs up !!
Thank you so much. I appreciate the kind remarks. God bless.
They take the keys Ron because their house key is on the key ring, their mailbox key is on the ring, their safe deposit box key is on the ring, etc... Plus, they don't want anybody to steal their vehicle... :-) haha
WOW!! You were working faster than the repo man there with that first car. Another great video.
Thank you and God bless.
Ron, you must have watched Bonanza as a child, you sound just like Hoss, one of the characters!!! He would always say Dadgum!!
I always hold my breath when you are enroute to the scene of the accident. I am afraid some dumb cluck is going to pull out in front of you!! Great job, Ron! So glad it went quickly and safely!
My eyes are constantly moving and looking. It could happen and I pray it never does. Sometimes though with the Go Pro it seems I am traveling faster than I really am as well. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Ron, I like your "HI" on Mike's helmet cam. Lol. I had a little chuckle at that. :)
Some days you just have to offer a little humor. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Ron Pratt ... As shown via your videos, your job can be both stressful and dangerous. Humor can be a great stress-reliever. I recall the Sprite can on the top of a vehicle that had flipped. And the officer asking you to be careful re the paint job, he wanted to 'buff it out'. Everyone has a healthy respect for one another so the humor is received in the manner it was intended. Of course that respect was earned.
Amazingly efficient pick-ups. Again, well done!
Ron, growing up my Dad owner a wrecker service and used parts. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I wasn't able to take over. Like you with Ethan, I rode along and listened to his every guidance. In 86 we got out first rollback. He learned (after many no keys accident) to carry a cheap bottle of liquid dish soap. You simply pour some down the bed where the tires would slide and it's better than the sliders. He knew the importance of clearing the road quickly. Only takes about 30 seconds, at most, to lay a bead. It also makes unloading so much easier brother!!! Great channel. Keep up the good work!!!
Reponut talked about how they would carry soap water packs when front wheel drive started to become popular to silently get them out of driveways.
Andrew H the repo industry still does
To bad Matt at Reponut started doing drugs after his wife passed. Sad he is loosing everything else now.
I did some towing up here in Iowa a few years back, one of the best tricks I learned was spraying water on the bed during the winter. It’d ice up quick in the cold temps, and made accident scenes a lot easier to handle. Just had to remember that the rollback bed was coated in ice, then all was well! Probably not the best solution, but in a pinch it worked well. Sure wasn’t easy if you needed to climb up on the bed, but it sure did impress the local police.
Picture this:
You're driving down the freeway and your car suddenly starts shaking. You immediately pull over and your car shuts off. You call for a tow truck. The tow truck arrives and starts loading your vehicle. During this, traffic keeps flying by you at speeds up to if not over 65mph. There's only inches between you and the speeding traffic. All of a sudden a car slams into the back of your car and the tow truck. You didn't have enough time to move out of the way. You are pinned between the speeding car and your vehicle. The tow truck operator is trapped under your vehicle. A passerby stops to help and calls 911. Now you wait. You're bleeding, your seriously hurt, you hear from the person who stopped to help that the tow truck operator is not responding. Fear and anxiety steps in. The police, firemen and paramedics get there. Suddenly you feel like you're going to pass out. You awake in the hospital to find out you have several broken bones, a concussion and possibly worse. You also hear that the tow truck operator didn't make it. The driver of the speeding car escaped with a few bruises and cuts. You start to get angry. If only they had slowed down, moved over and gave the tow truck operator enough room to work safely. Now the tow truck operator has lost his life, you have several months of recovery ahead of you and the family of the tow truck operator has the rest of their lives without their loved one. Again, if only the other car had slowed down and moved over.
Think about this story the next time you are traveling down the road and you see an emergency vehicle, tow truck, or construction vehicles on the side of the road. It only takes a few seconds out of your time to slow down and move over. They are people just like you. With families, loved ones, just trying to do their job and come home at the end of their day. Be a responsible, careful, considerate driver! ⬅️⬅️⬅️⬅️⬅️MOVE OVER⬅️⬅️⬅️⬅️ ⬇️⬇️⬇️SLOW DOWN ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
PLEASE EVERYONE, SHARE THIS POST!
I have read this many times and it gives me chills to think about ME or my son in law or father.....or any of our employees could be that tow operator under the vehicle. We should always remain focused when driving a vehicle down the road at 70 mph or even 35 mph. What could be more important on social media or a text to put someone in danger. Thanks for sharing this Mike and God bless.
Ron Pratt God bless you and your family. I'm on the road a lot especially in the spring. I'm a member of skywarn with the national weather service. I'm on the side of the road a lot too and I do not want to be a casualty either. Amateur radio call sign KG5TFS
This brought a tear to my eye and reminded me of an incident down here in New Zealand a few years ago where a road construction worker was doing some work on a road. They had a large safety truck with one of the big buffers at the rear, not sure what you call them there, however he was working to the rear of the truck when a car ran into him and the truck. Unfortunately the road worker did not survive and the driver was found to have been texting at the time. The driver was prosecuted and was given a loss of licence and a fine, our penalties here are a joke. The family of the worker have to deal with it daily for the rest of their lives. If you see a warning light, it may only be a vehicles hazard lights, PLEASE slow down and give it room and if not all, leave the phone until you are parked.
As a CDL driver, this is so true. But what makes me angry at police, be it State Police, Troopers, DOT or local; when they determine that a SAFETY INSPECTION is necessary on the side of the interstate. If during a stop, they think it is necessary to do a level II, II or IV inspection in ADDITION to any citations for operation of the CMV; they need to be required to escort the CMV to a location off of the interstate or Highway for the safety of the officer and the CDL driver and the public. It is not imperative to determine if my air brakes bleed down at a certain rate, my tread depths are within limits, my slack adjusters are within specs on the side of the interstate with traffic less than a foot away at 80 mph.
Clayton Knudsen You make a very valid point. Thanks for watching and God bless.
That hiiiii sounded so happy lol
Another well done and professional recovery! Prayers to those involved.
Thank you very much. God bless.
@@RonPratt I never thought in Missouri on tow trucks could run lights I live in Oklahoma
RON it's definitely a pleasure , watching your videos, allways , positive attitude even when teaching employees !!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Pratt,
I am watching from northern Alberta and just discovered your channel yesterday. May I say I think you do a fantastic job!
The safety aspect is huge and also the respect you show your coworkers, other first responders and the public is wonderful. I also find it refreshing that your language is family friendly if you will.
Be safe and keep on keeping on.
Bless you and yours!
Thank you very much. I have worked very hard to create a family-friendly channel, not just the videos and language used in them, but the comments as well. I hope you continue to enjoy the channel. Thanks for watching and God bless.
That poor ol Buick...I like those, great roll back vid, keep em coming!
Can't get over the idea of a tow truck responding red/blue lights and siren. It's awesome though! -from a fan in Wisconsin
I get a lot of questions as all states aren't on board yet. God bless.
That was quick and easy. Being safe
Thank you and God bless.
it so nice that you train guy nice video 👍👍👍
Thank you! We are a smaller family business and I do most if not all of the training for the towing and recovery operation. God bless and thanks for watching.
Ron Pratt 👍god bless
Very nice response. I love how you stop at a red light then proceed thru when clear.
I try not to take any chances with my safety or that of others. God bless.
another great job but I'm not surprised! thanks for everything you do! have a great day !
Thank you so much for the nice comments. God bless.
That initial interaction with the officer... too funny. Hope the driver is doing well. God bless.
God bless
Mike cam......."HI!!!" LOL. Good job gentlemen. Be safe.
Thanks! God bless.
Got a chuckle out of me too.
Me too
I watch videos with the captions on and when your sirens are on mine say “woo hoo hoo hoo” Or “ow ow ow ow” and it makes me giggle
Love watching your videos, very interesting and informative. A friend of mine in Dunedin NZ is a towie (tow truck driver). I think I have him watching your videos as well. You have even pricked up my interest in to becoming a towie.
Cheers once again for the videos
God bless
Great, I am so glad you enjoy the videos and find them educational. Thanks for sharing them with your friend. God bless and good luck in your towing interest.
Excellent job. I love the safety consciousness. "Slow Down and Move Over" only works if people do it. It's imperative you have your head on a swivel for not only yourself, but for Mike and Raymond too - which you do. Great learning experience for Raymond about scene management. Efficient and everyone was safe. Again, excellent job!
Thank you, he is a great worker and I have high hopes for the recovery training as well. God bless and stay safe.
ooops Raymond forgot his Hard Hat. He should never forget it Safety First !!
I'm happy to see as myself a highway worker, the care and time you put in to new employees and burning it in their brain that if you do not keep your head moving you WILL get killed not only by your own equipment but also traffic. In Wisconsin a leaf blower moves glass plenty easier 😀. Stay safe great videos! God Bless
Thank you for your comments and I pray you stay safe as well. I don't want to have a loss or injury on my watch. The crew is far too valuable with families at home waiting for them. Thanks also for the tip on leaf blowers instead of brooms. God bless.
I learned something new today. I live in Missouri by the Iowa Illinois line, and have been a firefighter/EMR for 32 years. I've never seen or heard our two wrecking companies run sirens, or use anything but amber light bars. the more you know....
Great, I am glad you learned something. I don't know what the Iowa laws are, but it would be worth finding out. God bless you and keep you safe in your service to your community.
Another great coffee morning with you Ron and fellas. Keep cool and God Bless.
Awesome! Hope your day went well too. God bless.
Another great video Ron. I think that you have the makings of a good driver in that young man.
Thanks for sharing and as always God bless
Thank you for watching and your positive comments. Blessings to you as well.
Mr Ron you are the BEST!!!!! Love your work!
nice to see some one still cleans the road and also cross strap no one does that any more
I don't think the other fella was doing 35mph. As Always, on the scene as fast as possible and just as professional. Great work Ron.
Thank you. I think you may be onto something there with the speed limit...LOL God bless.
My favourite line 'Why do they always take the keys?'
Man I can NOT believe how many people don't pull off to the shoulder and stop for emergency vehicles!!! That was one of the first things we were taught in driver's training!! Most people these days believe they are more important than anyone else on the road. I'll bet your wife is scared every time you go out on a run. Stay safe Ron & crew. God Bless you!
Until I started watching him I had no idea that tow trucks were considered emergency vehicles anywhere so it’s probably just people not realizing that they need to respect tow trucks the same way as they respect police cars or firetrucks or whatever and yes it is absolutely sad to see how many people just don’t get it, if I hear a siren on the road even me on my bicycle I will still pull off of the full road just so that that emergency vehicle and any cars that have to move out of the way have the room that they need and if I come across a place where there’s emergency vehicles by the side of the road, I go around it slowly even on my bicycle because I have heard of people getting really seriously hurt by someone flying down on their bicycle and hitting someone, both the rider and the person that got hit
Great job as always my friend. Stay safe out there, and God bless.
Thank you! God bless.
great video as always stay safe
also thank you for putting the loss of the tow truck driver up on facebook I shared it on my page reminding drivers to move over and slow down God bless and keep you safe
Raymond first duty
from baghdad with love
I think I have watched every video you have made. I try to stay one step ahead of you and anticipate your next step. Sometimes you grunt like an old fat man, but I do that too. I want to be like you when I grow up. I am only 81 now but I am learning.
good job Ron
Thank you and God bless.
Really enjoy the videos Mr Pratt. You have superior problem solving skills, especially when you use the lift. Looks like it can be a bit fun too. Stay safe! Thank you for the videos.
I try not to be all stoic and business all the time. Thanks for the kind words and every now and then you will get a glimpse of my twisted humor. LOL God bless.
One video two tows. How cool is that. Stay safe and God bless.
BOGO sale....NOT! LOL Thanks for watching and God bless.
The two camera are awesome
Ron my name is Jon Ferguson I'm from Illinois I'm one of your follower's I think they should move over for you and Randy the move over law is very important may God blessed you be safe buddy ☺️😊🙂
Great video Ron as always, y'all keep safe out there
Thanks for watching and God bless.
Blessed to live in Missouri opposite end of the state. Roberts garage Route 6 across the creek from Quincy is a rotator man
You and your team is doing a very good job on the jobs you're do
Great work and God bless you too.
Great job
Thank you and God bless.
Love watching you
Thank you and God bless.
A great job done right. My 014 Ram 3500 lock the doors when it felt like it. My 017 has done it twice so far. Blessings to all.
Thanks and God bless.
@Ron Pratt, The truck locking itself is to prevent someone from trying to steal your rig. It's pretty common in Tow/Repo trucks made by Ford.
at least Mike remembers his cam...lol, teach him how to set the time and date... but once again great job.
I sure will, he's a good worker. God bless.
Hey Ron another great vid sir!. Just something to note... I used to have a ford Rollback and had the doors lock more than once. Found out it was the auto locks engaging thinking its moving( The motion of the bed moving causes this) Smart to keep a key lol!
It's nice to see that his Icebreaker collection is still in infancy
Thanks again.
G6. We owned one at one time. It was the only car I ever owned that I wished someone had stole. Constant trouble with tie rods, wheel alignment problems, struts, etc. Was in a shop more than out. Gave it to a friend when we retired in Philippines. Gave it to them for free.
7:30
Ok no need say anymore sounds so hilarious 😂 in a good way for some reason I can’t stop going back and watching it
good job and fast, god bless you all
Thank you and God bless.
that made me laugh when you said hi to Mikes Camera
Love the code 3 action! Stay safe out there :)
Thank you. God bless.
Kia driver got arrested. Sounds like he was talking, when he should have been listening. Ron you make a good traffic cop. Good job helping keep your guys safe from unsafe drivers.
Thank you so much. God bless.
Love your video from Tasmania australia
Your videos are great and god bless
That police officer was Officer Daniels! 😮
Brenden Resnick not officer Daniels. Slowed video down and looked at name tag. Officer Daniels is a cop somewhere in Michigan
Great Job Ron. if only they were all as easy and as quick as that recovery!
The job might just get a bit boring if they were all this easy. I like the ones that need the beast! LOL God bless.
totally agree Ron. That beast is incredible! looking forward as always to more videos.
"They always take the keys" Maybe it's because I'm a locksmith and I know that a heavy key ring can prematurely wear the ignition switch, I always have a second key on a ring by itself in the ignition. In the early 90s there were plastic key blanks available on a snap off card the same size as a credit card so you could cut them and stuff them in your wallet. If they're no longer available I have cut most of the head off a key and drill a new hole so it takes up hardly any room in your pocket. I have a set on a small key ring for house and car that's so light and not bulky I hardly know it's there.
One more good one Ron. TY
Thank you and God bless.
Good training. Roads are swept after accidents in Texas too. Nice video. ~ Richard.
Thank you and God bless.
I love you ron you are good at that stuff
That's pretty cool you guys are able to use lights and emergency horn. There's a two truck driver who lives by my house who drives super recklessly. They don't allow sirens on tow trucks in Chicago. This guy cuts people off, speeds, and I saw him flip some guy off the other day for honking when he blew through a stop sign.
I hate to hear an operator conducts himself in that manner. One of the reasons I began this channel was to work to improve the image of the towing and recovery profession. I pray for his safety and for the safety of those in his path. God bless.
Lots of smaller community operators are decent, but it can be frustrating when your vehicle gets towed to the other side of a large county. Small town cops call local city operators, but local to the county sheriff is any operator in the entire county. I learned that the hard way. The state cops will call anybody in the state. Yes, you crashed north of Atlanta, but we called a south of Atlanta tow truck operator to take your car away.
I grew up in Chicago, the only people the average tow truck operators there are nice to is law enforcement. Car crash tows interrupt their main source of income, parking violations tows and booting operations. The suburban operators are usually nicer, but those areas usually do not have as many parking restriction areas as the big city does.
pretty cool im in nyc i never seen red and blues and a siren on a tow truck but alot of the chase trucks drive like they have them.
Missouri is different. Here is the explanation and a link for more information if you have an interest. In Missouri, towing and recovery vehicles are considered Emergency Vehicles and can run red/blue lights and sirens when requested to "EXPEDITE" by an authorized agency. Also, we aren't given the reason why we are requested to EXPEDITE. When we are requested to do so, we do so without question. The dispatching agencies have their reasoning. I know it is strange to a lot of people, but it is legal in Missouri. Anyone that is interested in the particulars of the Missouri law, I have a link to a video where I explain this in depth that you are welcome to view. Thanks and God bless. ua-cam.com/video/a10si2tvX10/v-deo.html
Hey Ron great video God bless you everyday and keep you safe if you take the truck to Ford they put in a code and it keeps the door from locking I had it done to my Ford truck and the door never locked after they put the code in something to think about it's just something a safety thing that if you walk away from your truck and you don't lock it it locks after a few minutes but they could make that stop at the Ford dealership will they could tell you how to do it it only takes in 5 minutes be safe out there keep the videos coming and God bless you and the new employee teach him right
