This design is unreal. The way the original features of the house were retained but blended with modern updates is just perfect. Brought out the potential so perfectly!!
The new homeowner kept saying it was "perfect". You can't get much better than that. What a beautiful restoration and modernization of an old home. Hopefully they will have many years of happy memories in it.
I really enjoy this show. Jenny's designs are beautiful. The person I really get a kick out of is Joe. He's quiet but when he does say something it makes me laugh.
A lovely house with lots of interesting character. Love the yellow door, the colorful pillows on the porch swing and of course the US flag. Great curb appeal.
This doesn’t say but notice the stairs now go on the other side of the mantle wall. This means there was enough space to do a fire box with an electric fire or that illusionary faux fire by using the space under the stairway.
I'm surprised they didn't put in an electric fire or something more real than what they did. Looking closer at the before fireplace, it was pretty shallow, but it probably worked somehow. @@j.j.9123
I really really love y’all show just 1 comment no one talks about how they adopted children just because they have so much love to give them got blessed with their own 1 thing Jenni please find and take your daughter at least once a month to get her hair done u will see how it grows and will be easy to manage
I love your work. You are very good at what you do. You work together so beautifully! But there is one thing I see you do that makes me cringe. I know this episode doesn’t have a wine rack but others do. Wine is subject to temp. Please don’t put wine racks next to bright windows that are subject to temp variations, please.😮
They took away the master bath to make a powder room 1/2 bath. Huge mistake. Now there isn’t a three piece bath on the main floor. There’s only one bathroom to bathe or shower upstairs for this large family. One could have configured it so there was at least a three piece bath even if it was just used for guests. What if someone breaks a leg? You have to somehow go upstairs? The large bathtub in the large bathroom that was originally the master bath could have been reconfigured so there were two doors and it became a shared bath, just take the bathtub out and put it a shower. Smaller footprint with room for an extra door. Or keep it as a three piece bath and move the door. To just make it a guest bath but you have the option of using it if you need it on the first floor.
you people complaining about the house losing interest coz its not old and ugly anymore have zero taste I'm sorry but give me a break it was not lookin all that good. i do wish they kept the original doors and doorways/transoms
No black or African American would put a cotton plant in their home, Because of slavery. The negativity of American history. The house is beautiful and old love it.
Let’s be honest. These people are so full of themselves and incredibly shallow and self-absorbed. It is nauseating to see people idolize material possessions and be so obnoxious in wanting so much more than what they need. It’s appalling actually. Especially in today’s world.
The no master bath would’ve been a huge deal breaker for me. You don’t build your home for “guests” that visit periodically!! You build a home to be convenient and comfortable to the FAMILY living there! If they needed a guest bath just build a small 1/2 bath underneath or near the stairwell. The beds room were so tiny. I would never want my daughter in a room that felt that claustrophobic! The design was great but the practicality not so much.
How do you work on roof tops without safety gear here in Australia we have to put up a scaffolding around roof edge of roof.scares me to watch what you get away with in your country.
It could have just said home sweet home Just because you were born somewhere doesn't mean that is your home I know a lot of immigrants who came to the states as children in who feel like the United States is their home
He seems like a super husband and father but she seems like shes short tempered towards him and needs to manage it because it shows no matter how you try to cover it up, just sayin!
I love Dave and Jenny Mars! They deserve more publicity 🥰
Absolutely 🌈👏👏👏
This design is unreal. The way the original features of the house were retained but blended with modern updates is just perfect. Brought out the potential so perfectly!!
How refreshing to watch an American design show that's not filled with fake drama and silliness. AND beautiful homes.
Jenny, Dave and their fantastic team did it again...perfect!👌
The new homeowner kept saying it was "perfect". You can't get much better than that. What a beautiful restoration and modernization of an old home. Hopefully they will have many years of happy memories in it.
They are my absolute favourite couple ever in HGTV home video ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I really enjoy this show. Jenny's designs are beautiful. The person I really get a kick out of is Joe. He's quiet but when he does say something it makes me laugh.
They are just the sweetest couple ever GOD BLESS!!!!!!
Sweetest couple? As long as Jenny gets whatever she wants I suppose she could be considered sweet. I think she is anything but sweet.
I couldn't agree more. I like this couple. I like their humor. I hope they have another season.
All features of ur home r extremely beautiful. A beautiful home for a v lovely family.
The Ghanaian word “waka” for home was perfect and very thoughtful ❤️👍
Its used by many bantu speaking people, given their adopted kids r from Uganda, in Luganda language home is called waka. it was indeed thoughtful
Beautiful...very peaceful
Heel mooi in elkaar gezet....
Great job! I like darker tones but that looked great kept it bright inside
I love the window!
A lovely house with lots of interesting character. Love the yellow door, the colorful pillows on the porch swing and of course the US flag. Great curb appeal.
My girlfriend loves you guys, she thinks your work and love for your customers is genuine ❤️
Watching from Uganda, Kampala city. Thanks !
Where is the bench space in the family bathroom
Amazing transformation
Omg as a Ugandan , this makes me so incredibly happy 😊
Am from Uganda, hope you guys enjoyed Uganda and thanks you for adopting in Uganda
Yes because there no kids in America that needed homes.
Lovely job indeed. Well done.
Love the kitchen and love the non traditional upper cabinets!!!
Wish you could have made a bathroom with shower to work for the parents and visitors
No upper cabinets makes no sense. Looks nice but seriously. 🤦♀️
yep hate that trend along with the dangerous microwave over the stove.
@@maryelyse5633 what’s dangerous about having the microwave over the stove?
7:13 what happend to the walls ? The paint looks like it's peeling
Stucco.
They should have given them more kitchen cabinets.
No master bathroom 😳
so why didn't they keep the fireplace, was it not functional?

I hate unusable fireplaces
The best rehab I've ever seen. Those boys won't fit in that room for long. I wonder how much of the stagging actually stayed in the house.
Nice project... I think it is time to level up on the script!
Sorry but it looked like the room for the boys - the older two? - was tiny and low-ceilinged... Am i missing something?

Lovely but why is the plaster so bumpy?

Love love love 🥰 just sucks that I'm sure as they get older they will need more room so they will probably sell 😣
fab
another historic home destroyed.... breaks my heart
Homes are for living, not monuments
@@mtgela yes, but the historical elements should be kept thats what makes them beautiful.
The colour is perfect it’s white no colour lol
WHICH STATE IS THIS ?
No black or African American would put a cotton plant in their home, Because of slavery. The negativity of American history. The house is beautiful and old love it.
Should have kept the fireplace working
Beautiful - I do wonder how much work she is going to have with all that white and three kids. Also those beds for the boys need railings to be safe.
Who pays for the remodel? Do the owners get the new furniture and decor?
Needs a geology lesson. That is not granite!
Lol I thought the same. They should've edited that part out

Come si fa a buttare una vasca da bagno vecchia, oltretutto ben tenuta. Assurdo.
if i m gona hear one more OH MY GOODNESS i m gona slap somebody
On Fixer Upper it’s “OH MY GOSH!”
Start slappin'

They're ok but they are way too monodimensional all their houses look alike . There is nothing unique
The owner said “This house has so much character.” But really, it doesn’t anymore, at least not on the inside.
Good thing it's not your house.
Dave is awesome, she is a disaster. Me, I, me, me, i, we, me, me....
My favorite is Fixer to Upper
Too bad they had to give up their bathroom to get a guest bath. Strange.
How do you work on roof tops without safety gear here in Australia we have to put up a scaffolding around roof edge of roof.scares me to watch what you get away with in your country.
Why are these people driving those huge cars? Isn't the planet burning fast enough? Or is it American Freedom? Driving tanks, shooting kids?
“Home sweet waka” against a shiplap wall is the most basic, Caucasian thing ever 😂🤮
they meant well.
It could have just said home sweet home
Just because you were born somewhere doesn't mean that is your home
I know a lot of immigrants who came to the states as children in who feel like the United States is their home
I thought it was very thoughtful. Their birthplace is part of their story.
He seems like a super husband and father but she seems like shes short tempered towards him and needs to manage it because it shows no matter how you try to cover it up, just sayin!
A boring house on a busy street. Too much grey and beige.
