Marowak would be cool, since he comes with a weapon which can work as both a projectile and an up-close tool. He could ram into opponents with a bone-plated headbutt for phase shifts and use the terrain to his advantage like Garchomp does.
I was really surprised when I saw that Hitmonchan & Hitmonlee were left out. They would have been absolutely perfect for this game. I would have liked to see Electabuzz, personally. No reason really. I just really like him! Haha!

I agreed with everything on this list... except Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee. They were pretty much deconfirmed instantly, as the creators wanted more "unique" and "fun" movesets (hence Chandelure and Gengar). We already have a powerhouse fighting type anyway. Machamp has punches and Blaziken has kicks.

Great picks! Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan and definitely the best contenders for DLC, but I'm also really glad you included Venusaur and Blastoise. The evolved Gen I starters seem like a no-brainer. At least they included Charizard. I always picked Charmander.

So this guy named WWWWario had a message sent to him from a guy named Arceus2401, and he told him that he unlocked Waluigi in SM64DS. He told him the instructions, and pictures that were IMPOSSIBLE to photoshop. I personally think Scyther will be a better option in the game than Scizor. He looks like more of a fighter to me. I also want to see Snorlax, Staraptor, Greninja, Noivern, Bulbasaur or Ivysaur, and Zoroark.
I like this list. While I mostly agree, here are a couple things to consider: Lopunny - Although a Normal type, can combine the moveset of hitmonchan and hitmonlee like fire punch, hi jump kick ect. It also has a mega evolution. Warturtle (?) - Blastoise can definately fit but I am thinking that this Pokemon simply has better moveset potential. And I just love that thing. Zoroark - because C'mon! That would be cool!
I would love to see Chesnaught as a fighter. For one thing. That Spikey Shield move is just waiting to become a counter attack. Also I could see Chesnaught using certain moves like Wood Hammer, Needle Arm, Seed bomb, or Hammer Arm. Plus Chesnaught does seem to have a pretty good body structure to be placed in a fighting game; with his long bulky arms, partially hunched-over position and needles protruding from his back. It should easily illustrate on how Chesnaught's fighting would look like.
I think the reason the Hitmon's weren't included, was because they didn't want a roster filled with buff Pokemon like Machamp. If you take a look at the Pokemon included, it's more psychic power than brawl to the death.
If you guys notice, the designers mostly try to pick out Pokemon fighters with a more "body-builder" two-legged, fit for a fighting game type body. Besides from suicune (added for no reason), chandelure (added mostly for speed and design), genera (a more chubby, but added for its quick-pace and come up on mega evolution) and pikachu (who has to be in every Pokemon game). I think that's what the designers are looking for, a fighter body.
Absol, I need my Emery. ;w; And give it Giga Impact as well just to emphasize its status as a very hard hitter, but also nimble. Another interesting one would be Hoopa and perhaps Mew(Which would be interesting as they would have a very playful style of fighting.)
I think the Top 10 Pokemon that still need the Most to be in Pokken are: (not really ranked, but only somewhat ranked) 10) Dewott More of a personal choice, but fulfills 2 things: adds a Samurai Archetype fighter to the game, and makes Braixen no longer look like the odd choice out. Even more, Dewott is a dual-sword fighter that has a finite amount of weapons. (Or rather, it can't just create more shells) So you could get a lot of fun out of the complexity of how many shells you have, limiting you attacks based on that, and allowing you to do things like throw them like kunai, pick them up, and do iai attacks/ sword drawing attacks. It would also be able to be a fairly nimble pokemon on it's feet, and more combo focused than a Samurott equivalent (which also could be good, but not in my top 10) 09) Tyrogue I just really wanted a Tyrogue with a Heihachi-like attitude to be the mascot of this game series, and maybe that can still be eventually true! (lol) I just think it would be really fun and nice to see a Tyrogue in a special-original costume/design be a sort of scrapy character that is unexpected to represent Heihachi. I think it could have multiple moves that combo into a judo-styled grapple/grab, some of heihachi's signature-style attacks, and tricky counters that make it a powerful all around character with a fraile amount of HP. 08) Hitmonchan 07) Hitmonlee 06) Hitmontop Aside from Tyrogue, I really think we need it's whole family. Sawk and Throh, maybe they can be assist mon or take their appearance in a future title down the road, but I think we have other pokemon that can represent and do represent Karate and Judo just as well as those do. However, I think the rest of the Tyrogue family fills out the fighting game key archetypes perfectly giving us an infight-close game specialist Boxer like Hitmonchan, a Taekwondo fighter like Hitmontop that can dominate the long-distance game with it's many kinds of tricky and stretchy homing kicks that combo easily in the Field mode, then a Capoeira fighter like Hitmontop that can confound and confuse foes with it's many attacks that shift the opponent between dual and field mode. I think all three (well, four) would bring variety and fun. 05) Alakazam Alakazam would be the ultimate Field type Pokemon, but lack in the Dual Phase with many of it's attacks just be devices to push the foe back into field phase. Alakazam just seemed to be a pokemon really missing from the roster, especially seeing it's main rivals such as Gengar and Machamp make the roster, it just feels like things are missing without Alakazam. I also imagine being such a Field dominate pokemon, it can really reflect it's pure psychic type with many confounding and technical attacks that make it come across as more unpredictable. 04) Feraligatr I think we could make Feraligatr the opposite of Alakazam and make it a real Assault Pokemon, terrorizing opponents that get close. I feel like Gen 2 representation is pretty weak, gen 5 as well. There are so many gen 3, 4, and 1 pokemon in this game that you really need a good reason to have it, but one popular choice is for Feraligatr. I think you could give it moves like Surf, Dive, and Waterfall to make it have a terrifying and fun way to move around and force your foe into Dual mode. 03) Incineroar I think Incineroar would be the perfect compliment to Decidueye as a second Alola selection. I think you could make him be a wink at King from the Tekken series as well as give him a moveset inspired by pro-wrestling and pro-wrestling heel characters. It also would be cool to get a wresting ring area for a stage to come with him. 02) Greninja Fan favorite Greninja doesn't need much explanation for how great it would be. Pokken doesn't really have any true Ninjas, maybe Scizor, but really, Greninja would be best and the lack of water pokemon, for being a basic type, makes it even more perfect. I imagine it would be somewhat lightweight, and have tricky movements with moves like Substitute, Water Shuriken, Night Slash, and Mat Block. 01) Venusaur I think, really for the longest, if any starter trio really should be completed it should be the first, and Venusaur would be the ultimate distance tank. It would be very slow in dual mode, but I imagine it could still do some pretty good throws with vines to get pokemon back to field mode. There aren't that many tanks, if any, in Pokken as it is, so it already makes it better, but I think it could be a lot of fun as a field mode specially, and great with beginners as they could spam projectiles, which also is kind of an easter egg for RBG with bulbasaur being the easiest starting path in those games. Runner Ups: Dusknoir, Hawlucha, Roserade, Blissey, Serperior, Infernape, Heracross, Tyrantrum, Electivire, Magmortar, Zoroark, Rhydon, Poliwrath, Lopunny, Goodra, Sudowoodo, Pangoro, Ursaring, Beware, Samurott, Delphox, Chesnaught, Jigglypuff, Keldeo, Hoopa-unbound, Deoxys, Lycanroc Midnight and Midday, Primarina, Sylveon, Marshadow, Malimar, Landorus, Volcarona, Sandslash, Cacturne and Silvally. The main logic for those picks were Archetypes to add a story mode or Bosses (with the likes of Dusknoir, Legendaries, and Malimar), lesser known iconic pokemon (Like Rhydon, Poliwrath, Electivire, Zoroark, and Magmortar), completing the smash cast (with Jigglypuff), fan favorites and those that make interesting and good fighting archetypes, gimmicks with the lycanroc pair, and then a couple more biased favores like Sandslash, Volcarona, and Cacturne. Although, even though I want more characters in Pokken... I kind of want a sequel. I want Pokken Tag Tournament where we actually can tag and switch between one other pokemon in addition to the single assist pokemon. I also want because of that for them to have type advantage damage multipliers where x4 super effective might do x2 damage, while Immunity might do 1/8x damage with the exception of throws and counters, maybe that charges your assist 2x as fast to combo through immunity. I also imagine you can better balance things by picking custom assist combinations sets.
I mean I'm pretty confused as to why Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee aren't included. Since the characters use the original Tekken moves to some extent, I can't see why Hitmonchan couldn't use some of Steve Fox's moves and why Hitmonlee couldn't use Hwoarang's moves.
I'll be honest with you, I feel Cacturne really deserves a spot here as a fighter, and it's kind of due to my love of the character and the cult following it can have. I feel that it could have a slow heavy-hitter style fighting style, or be a glass cannon style fighter, but I really think Cacturne would be a great fighter in the game.
Personally i would love to see Hitmonchan in the game, but if i only got to choose one Pokemon to add to Pokken, would definitely be Deoxys. Being able to swap forms in battle would be the best. Perhaps they could balance that out by taking away his ability to use support Pokemon, or making his swapping a vulnerability. Like it takes him 1.25 seconds to swap, so it's gives an opening to grab or attack him.
Honestly, I think Samurott should have been in Pokken Tournament rather than Suicune. Other Pokémon I think would have been cool to add would have been, Lopunny, Gallade, Zoroark, Toxicroak, Electivire and Aggron.
My number one pick is darkrai. Just think about it, he's the nightmare Pokemon so attacking with nightmares would make such a unique and fun fighting style, just imagine the move sets that could be made from your biggest fears. He could attack with monsters, bugs, ghosts, ect. Also a hard to pull off dark void attack would be cool along with dream eater. For a synergy burst he could use a large dark void then attack with a very fucked up and scary attack to represent your biggest nightmare

As for me, here's my list. It's a bit revised from one I originally had. They're in no particular order. 1.) Hitmonchan AND Hitmonlee- Two of the first Fighting pokemon ever, a boxer and kick-boxer respectively, good moveset potential, and are just simply awesome. 2.) Hariyama- It's a sumo. Enough said. Either him or Medicham. 3.) Aggron- Very cool looking, very strong, good moveset potential, and can you imagine how he'd look in HD? Also, his mega-evolution looks beastly. 4.) Loppuny- It may look feminine, but she'd have a good potential for combat, utilizing various kicks and speed. Also, her M.E. is half Fighting. 5.) Gallade- Gardevoir's in, so why not add Gallade as well? Gallade's half Fighting, he can learn some strong moves like Psycho Cut and Leaf Blade, he has a cool M.E., nd he has arm blades. Need I say more? 6.) Hawlucha- A luchador hawk-like pokemon that's said to go up against pokemon much larger han he is, like MACHAMP? PUT. HIM. IN! 7.) Scizor- One of the best Bug type pokemon ever, he can learn some strong moves, like Iron Head and X-Scissor, and his M.E. practically yells "Put me in there and let me tear the competition up!" 8.) Heracross- Again, an awesome bug, half-fighting, awesome M.E., and can learn Megahorn. 9.) Tyrannitar- A pseudo-legendary with awesome power and a very powerful M.E. Do I even HAVE to explain this one? 10.) Swampert- Blaziken and Swampert are in, so why not add Swampert as well? H has strong moves like Hammer Arm, Hydro Pump, and Muddy Water, he's very strong, and his M.E. makes him even stronger and looks really cool. If none of the others get in, Swampert NEEDS to. That's my list. What do you think? The game needs more pokemon added to the roster, but I don't mind waiting.

If you ask me, the logic of "Hitmonchan should be in if they add in Hitmonlee" is flawed because that clearly has no hold on the game. For example, if we go by that logic, then Gallade and Swampert should be in as we already have their respective counter-parts but clearly that is not the case. That said, I 100% agree with Hawlucha, it blows my mind that this amazing Pokemon was never included to begin with and he needs to be in. That said, if any 6th Gen Pokemon is going to get it, I'd say Greninja has the best shot.

I decided to post this long comment here, since I didn't know if you'd get notified or not on you're discussion section, so you said you didn't know who Arecus2401 is, well he's like the most mysterious and ONE of the important people in VG history. So this guy named WWWWario had a message sent to him from a guy named Arceus2401, and he told him that he unlocked Waluigi in SM64DS. He told him the instructions, and pictures that were IMPOSSIBLE to photoshop. His instructions were complicated and he talked about tapeworms in them and it sounded so weird, since he wasn't form the U.S.A. He eventually disappeared and was never seen again. WWWWario tried the instructions and made 3 failed attempts trying to reach the negative world in the game, SM64DS. But GUESS what!!! I like this list. While I mostly agree, here are a couple things to consider:
Lopunny - Although a Normal type, can combine the moveset of hitmonchan and hitmonlee like fire punch, hi jump kick ect. It also has a mega evolution.
Warturtle (?) - Blastoise can definately fit but I am thinking that this Pokemon simply has better moveset potential. And I just love that thing.
Zoroark - because C'mon! That would be cool!

I would love to see Chesnaught as a fighter.
For one thing. That Spikey Shield move is just waiting to become a counter attack. Also I could see Chesnaught using certain moves like Wood Hammer, Needle Arm, Seed bomb, or Hammer Arm.
Plus Chesnaught does seem to have a pretty good body structure to be placed in a fighting game; with his long bulky arms, partially hunched-over position and needles protruding from his back. It should easily illustrate on how Chesnaught's fighting would look like.

I think the reason the Hitmon's weren't included, was because they didn't want a roster filled with buff Pokemon like Machamp. If you take a look at the Pokemon included, it's more psychic power than brawl to the death.
If you guys notice, the designers mostly try to pick out Pokemon fighters with a more "body-builder" two-legged, fit for a fighting game type body. Besides from suicune (added for no reason), chandelure (added mostly for speed and design), genera (a more chubby, but added for its quick-pace and come up on mega evolution) and pikachu (who has to be in every Pokemon game). I think that's what the designers are looking for, a fighter body.

10) Dewott
More of a personal choice, but fulfills 2 things: adds a Samurai Archetype fighter to the game, and makes Braixen no longer look like the odd choice out. Even more, Dewott is a dual-sword fighter that has a finite amount of weapons. (Or rather, it can't just create more shells) So you could get a lot of fun out of the complexity of how many shells you have, limiting you attacks based on that, and allowing you to do things like throw them like kunai, pick them up, and do iai attacks/ sword drawing attacks. It would also be able to be a fairly nimble pokemon on it's feet, and more combo focused than a Samurott equivalent (which also could be good, but not in my top 10)

I just really wanted a Tyrogue with a Heihachi-like attitude to be the mascot of this game series, and maybe that can still be eventually true! (lol) I just think it would be really fun and nice to see a Tyrogue in a special-original costume/design be a sort of scrapy character that is unexpected to represent Heihachi. I think it could have multiple moves that combo into a judo-styled grapple/grab, some of heihachi's signature-style attacks, and tricky counters that make it a powerful all around character with a fraile amount of HP.

Aside from Tyrogue, I really think we need it's whole family. Sawk and Throh, maybe they can be assist mon or take their appearance in a future title down the road, but I think we have other pokemon that can represent and do represent Karate and Judo just as well as those do. However, I think the rest of the Tyrogue family fills out the fighting game key archetypes perfectly giving us an infight-close game specialist Boxer like Hitmonchan, a Taekwondo fighter like Hitmontop that can dominate the long-distance game with it's many kinds of tricky and stretchy homing kicks that combo easily in the Field mode, then a Capoeira fighter like Hitmontop that can confound and confuse foes with it's many attacks that shift the opponent between dual and field mode. I think all three (well, four) would bring variety and fun.
05) Alakazam
Alakazam would be the ultimate Field type Pokemon, but lack in the Dual Phase with many of it's attacks just be devices to push the foe back into field phase. Alakazam just seemed to be a pokemon really missing from the roster, especially seeing it's main rivals such as Gengar and Machamp make the roster, it just feels like things are missing without Alakazam. I also imagine being such a Field dominate pokemon, it can really reflect it's pure psychic type with many confounding and technical attacks that make it come across as more unpredictable.
04) Feraligatr
I think we could make Feraligatr the opposite of Alakazam and make it a real Assault Pokemon, terrorizing opponents that get close. I feel like Gen 2 representation is pretty weak, gen 5 as well. There are so many gen 3, 4, and 1 pokemon in this game that you really need a good reason to have it, but one popular choice is for Feraligatr. I think you could give it moves like Surf, Dive, and Waterfall to make it have a terrifying and fun way to move around and force your foe into Dual mode.
03) Incineroar
I think Incineroar would be the perfect compliment to Decidueye as a second Alola selection. I think you could make him be a wink at King from the Tekken series as well as give him a moveset inspired by pro-wrestling and pro-wrestling heel characters. It also would be cool to get a wresting ring area for a stage to come with him.
02) Greninja
Fan favorite Greninja doesn't need much explanation for how great it would be. Pokken doesn't really have any true Ninjas, maybe Scizor, but really, Greninja would be best and the lack of water pokemon, for being a basic type, makes it even more perfect. I imagine it would be somewhat lightweight, and have tricky movements with moves like Substitute, Water Shuriken, Night Slash, and Mat Block.
01) Venusaur
I think, really for the longest, if any starter trio really should be completed it should be the first, and Venusaur would be the ultimate distance tank. It would be very slow in dual mode, but I imagine it could still do some pretty good throws with vines to get pokemon back to field mode. There aren't that many tanks, if any, in Pokken as it is, so it already makes it better, but I think it could be a lot of fun as a field mode specially, and great with beginners as they could spam projectiles, which also is kind of an easter egg for RBG with bulbasaur being the easiest starting path in those games.
Runner Ups: Dusknoir, Hawlucha, Roserade, Blissey, Serperior, Infernape, Heracross, Tyrantrum, Electivire, Magmortar, Zoroark, Rhydon, Poliwrath, Lopunny, Goodra, Sudowoodo, Pangoro, Ursaring, Beware, Samurott, Delphox, Chesnaught, Jigglypuff, Keldeo, Hoopa-unbound, Deoxys, Lycanroc Midnight and Midday, Primarina, Sylveon, Marshadow, Malimar, Landorus, Volcarona, Sandslash, Cacturne and Silvally.
The main logic for those picks were Archetypes to add a story mode or Bosses (with the likes of Dusknoir, Legendaries, and Malimar), lesser known iconic pokemon (Like Rhydon, Poliwrath, Electivire, Zoroark, and Magmortar), completing the smash cast (with Jigglypuff), fan favorites and those that make interesting and good fighting archetypes, gimmicks with the lycanroc pair, and then a couple more biased favores like Sandslash, Volcarona, and Cacturne.
Although, even though I want more characters in Pokken... I kind of want a sequel. I want Pokken Tag Tournament where we actually can tag and switch between one other pokemon in addition to the single assist pokemon. I also want because of that for them to have type advantage damage multipliers where x4 super effective might do x2 damage, while Immunity might do 1/8x damage with the exception of throws and counters, maybe that charges your assist 2x as fast to combo through immunity. I also imagine you can better balance things by picking custom assist combinations sets.
Scizor, Absol(more quadrupeds), Zoroark, Goodra(more dragon types) aaaaaand... Greninja. Cuz ninja frag.

I mean I'm pretty confused as to why Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee aren't included. Since the characters use the original Tekken moves to some extent, I can't see why Hitmonchan couldn't use some of Steve Fox's moves and why Hitmonlee couldn't use Hwoarang's moves.

Personally i would love to see Hitmonchan in the game, but if i only got to choose one Pokemon to add to Pokken, would definitely be Deoxys. Being able to swap forms in battle would be the best. Perhaps they could balance that out by taking away his ability to use support Pokemon, or making his swapping a vulnerability. Like it takes him 1.25 seconds to swap, so it's gives an opening to grab or attack him.

My number one pick is darkrai. Just think about it, he's the nightmare Pokemon so attacking with nightmares would make such a unique and fun fighting style, just imagine the move sets that could be made from your biggest fears. He could attack with monsters, bugs, ghosts, ect. Also a hard to pull off dark void attack would be cool along with dream eater. For a synergy burst he could use a large dark void then attack with a very fucked up and scary attack to represent your biggest nightmare

As for me, here's my list. It's a bit revised from one I originally had. They're in no particular order.
1.) Hitmonchan AND Hitmonlee- Two of the first Fighting pokemon ever, a boxer and kick-boxer respectively, good moveset potential, and are just simply awesome.
2.) Hariyama- It's a sumo. Enough said. Either him or Medicham.
3.) Aggron- Very cool looking, very strong, good moveset potential, and can you imagine how he'd look in HD? Also, his mega-evolution looks beastly.
4.) Loppuny- It may look feminine, but she'd have a good potential for combat, utilizing various kicks and speed. Also, her M.E. is half Fighting.
5.) Gallade- Gardevoir's in, so why not add Gallade as well? Gallade's half Fighting, he can learn some strong moves like Psycho Cut and Leaf Blade, he has a cool M.E., nd he has arm blades. Need I say more?
6.) Hawlucha- A luchador hawk-like pokemon that's said to go up against pokemon much larger han he is, like MACHAMP? PUT. HIM. IN!
7.) Scizor- One of the best Bug type pokemon ever, he can learn some strong moves, like Iron Head and X-Scissor, and his M.E. practically yells "Put me in there and let me tear the competition up!"
8.) Heracross- Again, an awesome bug, half-fighting, awesome M.E., and can learn Megahorn.
9.) Tyrannitar- A pseudo-legendary with awesome power and a very powerful M.E. Do I even HAVE to explain this one?
10.) Swampert- Blaziken and Swampert are in, so why not add Swampert as well? H has strong moves like Hammer Arm, Hydro Pump, and Muddy Water, he's very strong, and his M.E. makes him even stronger and looks really cool. If none of the others get in, Swampert NEEDS to.
That's my list. What do you think? The game needs more pokemon added to the roster, but I don't mind waiting.

DJ L00dBoi Oh I agree, it's just I cannot stand Spinda, it's easily 1 of my most hated Pokemon.
Maybe if they gave it an evolution or a mega evolution I may like it more.
If you ask me, the logic of "Hitmonchan should be in if they add in Hitmonlee" is flawed because that clearly has no hold on the game.
For example, if we go by that logic, then Gallade and Swampert should be in as we already have their respective counter-parts but clearly that is not the case.
That said, I 100% agree with Hawlucha, it blows my mind that this amazing Pokemon was never included to begin with and he needs to be in. That said, if any 6th Gen Pokemon is going to get it, I'd say Greninja has the best shot.

Scizor( speedy character good defense ok great attack but low special defense for supers/command moves)
ivysaur (seed bomb and vine whip playstyle)
hawlucha(kinda like pikachu libre but can fly and aerial combat)
squirtle(shell based fighting like withdraw and skull bash)
heracross(karate and flying with wings to do seismic toss)
Greninja( same as smash)
it's hilarious because i was wondering why those 2 weren't in the game from the beginning as well
instead of having mega eveloution and break eveloution they should also add some break evolving pokemon including greninja and zoroark.
I think they should add the ability to use shiny versions of the Pokemon. Also, I think they should add Blastoise, greninja, steelix, Pidgeoto, Chestnaught, Gyrados, Scizor, and Altaria. Also, maybe so,e break Pokemon?
The first Pokemon that came to my mind when thinking of DLC for Pokken tournament I thought of Zoroark, Greninja, Infernape, and Scyther.
