    The fact that you see Ed actually go for a kill shot just shows how much he truly cared and how angry he was.

    Since everyone else has already commented on the whole Greed/Father situation, I just wanted to say: Shout out to that one Briggs soldier that had the balls to just up and shoot God in the head. Briggs men truly are the GOAT.

      Precisely. So sad that, while Wrath and Greed (and even, to a lesser extent, Pride, Gluttony, and even Envy) came to realize and accept their true desires, Father never did.

    It is so good that the first shot against Father is from a nameless soldier. It isn't Ed or Roy leading the charge, it's humanity itself rejecting Father.

    I like how Greed's true desires were visible from the very beginning. Even Greed 1.0 was surrounding himself with people. Moreover, they were people who likely shared the need for friends, given their inhuman bodies.
    Also, the details. Long nails on the returned arm, because of course. Also, Al's truth and Ed's truth being in the same void because they are connected (as explained when Ed hypothesized how Al's is basically draining his sleep and nutrition)

    Let's give massive props to Lt. Carly. He was able to plan and organized a counter attack and redeploy his troop from perimeter and holding positions to the central bailey with heavy weapons in less than 10 minutes. Magical instant travel aside, that is a very capable officer and needs to be promoted tomorrow. General Armstrong, you trained him well.

    Don't know if someone mention it, but do you remember what Father said to Greed a few episodes ago? That he knows all what Greed wants because he wanted it first. So that means that all that Father wanted since the beginning was friends and a family. Like Hohenheim said too, he created the Homunculi as his childs and make them call him "Father" because he wanted it, in contradiction to his ideal to become something far from a human.
    In the end he was just lying to himself.

    • @CastSenpai
      @CastSenpai  2 роки тому +3

      Potentially, yes. Another possibility is Greed learned it through his own experiences while using people. His original chimera group was probably him taking advantage of them initially, only to find he cared for them later. Either way is possible how I see it.

  • @noremac7216

    You are right there are rules to equivalent exchange, that's what stops Ed and Al from just doing basic alchemy to get their bodies back since their bodies were taken as a toll to the truth. Ed couldn't just restore his arm through normal means because his arm was taken to exchange pulling Alphonse's soul out of the gate and bonding it to the armor. But as Alphonse stated he's just reversing the deal. He's putting his soul back in order to give Ed the price he paid to pull his soul out in the first place. So that tracks with the law of equivalent exchange. And in a really funny cosmic way Al basically just asked for a refund lol

      Although They’re not the same in the English dub, but they are the same in the manga and anime (Japanese dub and English sub)
      “Come here, you third-rate. I’ll show you the difference between you and me.”
      (Or somewhat similar)
      In the manga, the first time is the end of the first chapter, and the second time is the end of the chapter before the last (signifying the series is about to end).

    I watched series as good as Monster and Neon Genesis Evangelion before FMAB, as well as very iconic series such as Attack On Titan, Death Note and Hunter X Hunter, but right after I finished FMAB last year it became my favorite anime. I wouldn't necesary say it's the best because there are too many good stories out there and not everyone will be touched by the story of the Elric brothers, but men, what a great show FMAB is. Episode 63 is my favorite episode of the show, and probably my favorite episode of any show.

    every attack does something....in this show's world most of all. No attack is shrugged off 100%. It takes an equivalent amount of energy to neutralize or recover from the force of an attack or blow...and Father is not exempt from this rule. While some form of God lives in him, it can only be held in place by a proper amount of human souls, and while it's never truly detailed, in time these will burn out as well since they must be consumed as energy to exert the force required to restrain it in a physical body....a thing which itself decays over time as mere matter. Everything requires the use of Father's stone.

    I love this episodes example of how strong the Briggs soldiers are as a unit. General Armstrong trained them to ensure that, regardless of what might happened to any officer, they can continue to function as a strong, lethal unit. General Armstrong can step back and trust her men to finish the job

  • @firerath

    Greed was never an evil character. Selfish maybe, but he was always a good person deep down. One of the best examples that didn't make it into the anime was when he first kidnapped Al and demanded to know how his soul was bonded, but when Al told him Ed did it and that was wasn't around (he had to get recertified as a state alchemist in central) Greed's immediate reaction was to back off, ask his team if he was insensitive, and apologize for Al's loss thinking Ed had passed away. He didn't even bother thinking about how he had lost his key to supposed immortality and was more worried about this kid losing family. Greed valued those sorts of connections more than anything else, which is why he does upon regaining his memories is go after Bradley for killing his friends. His greed made him able to accept people with nothing else and no where to go, which is just like Ling. They really were a perfect match.

  • @Shax22132
    @Shax22132 Рік тому

    One of the many things I love about this show: people matter, even in the final battle. There are a lot animes that go on about the power of friendship and comradery; yet in the end, only the main character, and maybe his rival, are really able to fight the Big Bad. Typically, everyone else is reduced to either being cheerleaders or are incapacitated.
    Not so in Fullmetal Alchemist. If Ed and Al had tried fighting Father on their own, they would have absolutely crushed in an instant. It truly is a group effort to take down Father: soldiers, alchemists, chimeras, ninjas, homunculi, etc, all attacking with everything they've got.
