I just sold my 270 and got a X bolt 300 Win Mag. I'm tired of Playing Around.. Just Ordered a Scope. Thinking about going Straight to a Federal 200 Grain Bullet.
I was given a model 70 chambered in .300 Wetherby magnum many years ago. I have shot it a few times . It really kicks and is extremely loud. Uncle loaded his own cartridges and was proud that they were loaded really hot. Sometimes a cartridge will split, come out dented or the base will be broken off! I don’t shoot his reload but have purchased good factory rounds but have not shot them yet. The stamp on the barrel is 300 magnum, I’m thinking it was rechambered for the weather by cartridge. Any thoughts?
The Winchester chambered in 300 Weatherby Magnum was quite popular then. But mine was picky about loads. If they are splitting then they are too hot. Not all guns can handle all loads. Be careful, I rebarreled mine again in 300 Weatherby with no issue using actual Weatherby Ammunition. Thanks for watching!!! We really appreciate it!!!
Thats one of my favorite rounds. Nice rifle
Thank you!!! We really appreciate you watching!!
Hunting the hills of north east Bama my perfect mtn gun is a 308 Ruger American Compact. Its little and light.
