- The Samsung Speaker arrived and I was happy to see it turn on right away, when it starts, the lights turn on as well as a sound with bass.
The speaker comes with manual for the speaker as well as for the remote and best of all the speaker can be controlled with the Samsung Sound Tower App. The speaker comes with DJ Effect Modes as well as different light modes.
I really like that it does have 160 RMS watts, they are not just peak watts. And you get 60 watts when it is using the battery.
The speaker does have a battery that can last up to 12 hours so I can take it with me to start the party anywhere.
The bi directional speakers send the sound in a wide angle, making the sound travel wide and far. I also like that the speaker is IPX5 so if it starts raining or there is dust around, I do not have to worry, it is sealed to resist the weather.
I have another speaker from Samsung with the Group play so I can play the music in both speakers and I can connect up to 10 speakers to get a rich sound.
The Bluetooth Multi Connection is cool so when you have someone that wants to play their music too, they can.
All the light modes are cool: I like both the Dance and Thunder Bolt modes and it has Party, Ambient, Star and off.
The sound effects are also a plus.
I really like the speaker and how well it sounds; there is no distortion from it even at max volume. I enjoy controlling the speaker from the control but even more from the app on my phone.
Sound modes include , party, standard, hip hop, EDM, rock, Latin, house and reggae.

Hello and thank you for asking, I have not tried it at the gym, I have tried it at a studio, and I think it will work for the Super Bowl and it depends on the size of the place, if its a small to medium size then it will work great, if its a large place then the highs are going to be ok but the bass not so much, perhaps two speakers will work best, to get the full sound. Can you talk trough a microprohone over the box? Like can you use it as a speaker with microphone? If yes how?
Hello, and thank you for asking. This speaker is designed to play music not so much as karaoke Samsung has the other version for that , the ST50B has a karaoke mode. And if you already have this speaker, then you can also do a couple of things to get the mic to work. It has a 3.5 mm jack in the back to use with different devices, including a mic. Also, if you have a mixer or a mic that comes with RCA Jack ( usually wireless Mics with their box hooked up to the speaker), that works, too. So you can use it to talk. On the other hand, you will not get the echo to sing. I hope that helps a little. Best to you.

Sorry I should have mentioned, the mic should be pre amped. like the wireless microphones that have a receiver usually are, a direct mic is very low, if you have also a mic connected to a mixer and then connected to the speaker that's another way, Usually you will need something to control the volume or power going to the speaker. hope that explains why the volume is so low.

I think if you can buy a new wireless microphone, try it, if it works to your satisfaction then keep it or replace it with another one, if you don't then you can return it. I have been looking for my wireless microphone to test it out on the speaker I have not been able to find that particular one. I will keep trying and if I do get it to work, I will let you know.

Hello and thank you for asking. JBL makes great speakers, I've had a couple of them, and they do sound great. I think it comes down to how you will use the speakers. If you are a DJ or a job that requires you to move around plenty, I think the JBL is great, it is also lighter to move around. If you like to party and have fun, then I like the MX ST40B, the music travels further due to bi directional sound, both have similar specs, while I like how the Samsung looks better. Lastly look at the inputs, if you use the different inputs the JBL offers then go for that one. Either way they both sound great. please come back and let us know which one you chose and if you like it. And right now, they both are about the same price. Best to you.
When I got mine the instruction manual said when it's charged it turns off but mine turned blue is this right?

Hello and thank you for asking, when you have the speaker on standby and it is fully charged the light turns blue, if the speaker is off and it is fully charged then the light turns off. Yeah, a bit confusing if it is off or standby but nothing wrong with your speaker. best to you.
Is there any way to mount this on a speaker stand pole? I read the manual/online specs and it seems to not have a hole in the center so there is no way to mount this on a stand...?

I do not know how the Echo Studio sounds but I am certain it sounds great since it is smart because you have your assistant built in, it has 5 speakers total and sending the sound in different directions. I think if you are using it in a room, this is a great choice of quality sound. The MX ST40B is different, it is portable because it has a built in battery so you can take it anywhere, has inputs, lights and can connect with other speakers for a party. So it depends on what you are using it for.

Hello and thank you for asking, it sounds good, but it also depends on the space you will use it, if its a bedroom or a small room, it will be loud and you can enjoy gaming or watching a movie. You will not get a surround sound like a multiple channel soundbar but it will sound great, I have mine in a smaller room and sounds and looks good. Best to you.

Wearing AirPods the audio coming through even as loud as it was didn’t sound too distorted which is surprising they have a sale on the MX T40 for 125? How’s the value on that and the only thing that draws me away from picking up this bad boy is the fact it’s not mobile to bring to family events etc most parks don’t have sockets around where I’m at so hard to pull the trigger just yet but I came away from this impressed good content one suggestion try to plan out your videos a little more so it has more info and deeper details people love that type of stuff but good job

Hello and thank you for asking, I also hope you subscribe to my channel, I just saw some of the specs of the W King T11 and it looks great, it is similar to the MX ST40B and I think it depends on preference, the price is similar so I like the Samsung when it comes to the app so I can control the lights and sound remotely. I do like the IPX6 on the W King. You can do karaoke on both as well as play music, and both have LED lights for ambiance. The Samsung has a weird shape but it pays off when it sends the sound in different directions. I like the group play on the MX ST40B so more than one person can control the music. I do like that the W King does have a 6.5mm input vs the 3.5mm but then again you can always get and adapter so you can connect a mic or guitar on either. Lastly the battery is better on the Samsung so I think I would prefer the Samsung. What do you think ? Best to you.

I like the design and brand name of Samsung-- but the form factor of the T-11 and portability might have an advantage when moving the speaker around. I also read that on battery mode-- the Samsung is at 80 watts vs the 100 watts of the T-11. Will be receiving the T-11 soon-- will test drive the unit.

Should I plug in continuously or use and charge intermittently?

And when you take the speaker to the park or to a party that you do not need the volume to be too loud then unplug it and use it. I would say not to keep it plugged in for a long period of time. And when not in use for a long period of time, recharge the battery every month so you can keep the battery in good condition. Best to you.

To answer your question, it does have a 3.5mm input so you can use a microphone but it doesn't have an echo for karaoke. Unless you use a microphone with echo then you probably can. @@technoguy008 The review is using the speaker with the battery, it is not plugged in. If you want a speaker that is very loud check out the other speaker I reviewed Sony XV900 but this last one is plug in only. I like the MX ST40B because it is light to carry and has a battery and you can always pair more speakers for a bigger party. Also keep in mind that the battery on this speaker is good, 7350 mAh, 53.95 Wh, you might want to have loud speakers that also last a long time on. Someone else mentioned the W King T11, look at the specs and decide then, good luck. I hope you come back with your decision as well.

It is both stereo and mono, it does have two channels and four speakers and using bluetooth or wired with both channels it is stereo. If you add another same speaker you can use one for left channel and the other as the right channel. And it sounds great either way but while connected, it sounds louder. Best to you.
