Hi Anita, I too have been suffering anxiety, lack of sleep, brain fog etc too and just started HRT. I’m hoping it kicks in soon! A lot of my friends think it’s wonderful and I follow the menopause doctor on Instagram who is fantastic. I hope it helps you. Look forward to seeing your Darla dress xxx
Thank you Rebecca! How have you been feeling on your HRT? I've literally just been back to the docs and asked for Body identical progesterone, based on all the wonderful info Dr Louise Newson has spoken about. I was put on synthetic progesterone, and I wasn't happy lol. I've just got it changed! My anxiety is through the roof right now so I'm hoping this works 🙏🏻 I'm loving the Darla dress pattern ❤👗 xx
So sorry you’ve been feeling this way Anita! I hope that the HRT will continue to make a difference. I think it’s good that you’ve mentioned it on here as it will resonate with a lot of people, especially us ladies who do go through the mill with our hormones. Sending you a hug. I don’t have any advice for the shelf bra, but I do like the look of this pattern, so I’ve bought it to make a version at some point. Xx
Thanks so much Karen! 🙏🏻 It has been a turbulent time for sure, I've just returned from the G.P once again. My anxiety is through the roof 😰 I have tried to do a bit of reading on the subject, it's important we feel supported and know what to ask for. I'm going to talk more about the HRT, as it may be helpful for people who are lost like I was. Yayyy! So good you bought the pattern, I'm loving it. I also think I've found an inexpensive way of dealing with the bra issue, fingers crossed 🤞 Thank you for the hug 🥰💕 sending one right back xx
You have my sympathy! 🤗 it's a rocky road and trial and error. There is so much info out there, some not helpful. I will talk about the hrt more next time, as I feel there is too much conflicting advice. Each person is different, my advice is, note down all your symptoms, even if you think it's not related, it's helpful when talking to your Dr. Sending out huge hugs! 🥰 xx
Oh Anita, hearing you talk about what you’re experiencing in your body and emotionally brought a lump to my throat and made me want to send a big hug through the screen. I’ve been there with anxiety and so forth, amongst other horrid symptoms, I’m most embarrassed at the sudden overwhelming rage that came upon me at times - it’s scary isn’t it! Don’t want to burden you with my story, so to cut a very long story short, I had BRCA2 breast and ovarian cancer which ended up with a double mastectomy and total hysterectomy and an early menopause with horrific symptoms - just as you’ve described. I couldn’t have HRT, so the only way was through. I’m so glad you’ve sought help from your GP though and I really hope your HRT provides you with some relief, once it thoroughly kicks in! You’ll need no reminder to keep up your yoga practice and meditation too - they are literally life savers during that time. Re your dress - the shell fabric is gorgeous. Please can I ask if you bought it online? It’s going to look gorgeous. I found a You Tube video of a dress that looks very similar at the back - the lady inserted bra cups into the dress - might be worth a look if you haven’t seen it already ua-cam.com/video/Fhc28PAUGyI/v-deo.htmlsi=CfN0cFz2vk_5SLF7. Take care lovely and we’ll look forward to seeing your dress when your ready.
Thank you so much for sharing your story Dee, I appreciate you telling me and being open. What you went through, must have been incredibly tough. With everything you had to deal with on top of hormone imbalance, I can only imagine, my heart goes out to you ❤ Thank you for your kind words 🙏🏻 I'm sure I will get through it, my yoga is a saviour! I'm hoping more support is given to women, even though it's talked about a lot more, the help isn't really out there for many. Oh Dee, thank you for video link, I will check that out 🙌 it may be what I need. The fabric is a market buy 😄 you know me! However, just email me lovely lady, I can see if they still have it on Tuesday? I'm going anyway, as I need elastic 😘🧵✂️ xx anita.sewingyogi@gmail.com 💕
Hlello Elizabeth! Aww I reckon you should definitely ask your G.P, I've been reading up lots on the subject, and it can effect us ladies for years and years. You may need a small dose of certain hormones to help. The hormones help our bodies function correctly, help heal our brain and heart - It's amazing really. I hope you can get some support and stay young at heart ❤ xx
Anita, I'm so sorry you are not feeling well. So many of us struggle with similar issues. Hang in there and be sure to take care of yourself.

I had this same thought with this dress---I would like a built in bra too!!
Watch this space, I think I may have found an inexpensive solution 🤞 I will reveal it, once I've managed to get it finished 😀 xx
Omg, I’m on the Perimenopause boat and this is a ride I want off of. I’m considering HRT as well.

Do take care of yourself. Glad you’ve reached out for help.
Thank you for your kind comment 🙏🏻 💕 I am very grateful for your support xx
I have thought about sewing in bra cups like with a swimsuit. Now support but some coverage.
Hi Heather, yes I was thinking of this too, for other dresses I have, that don't quite need the support 👍🏻 👗
Hi Anita, recently I've felt like you & now wondering if hrt is the way to go although not sure they'll perscibe for young at heart 69yr old.xx

You could sew (power mesh) as a self lined bodice. 🥰 💖
Ooh thank you so much for the tip! 🧵✂️🙌 I have heard of power mesh, I will do some investigating 💕 xx
