love the little history lesson at the beginning more of this !
I spied the Mad Spotter dumbbell hooks in the background. Love those things, use mine often.
I have the pros and anything over 70lbs for me doesn't help.. Using my 110s to 120s.. I need to have the weight on my legs and have their feel of the weight transition in the old fashioned way in order to actually get the lift in multiple reps.. Using the mad spotters it takes more thought process and muscle balance to get them off the barbell and to get them back onto something that's 28mm. If you can get used to them and make them second nature sure.. Otherwise.. Not really worth it for heavier weights
Any chance on some Powertec gear?
I have Kensui Ankr - a little pricey but i like that they have an opton to keep the bottom flat and you can walk with them on. That being said, i only use them for single leg for hip flexors and hanging leg lifts for abs. They are kind of annoying to set up and dont feel great for leg curls/extensions since the weight at the beginning of the movement is too light
Interesting design. I already own Kensui Fitness ANKR, but I rarely use them because IMO they are too inconvenient to put on. The Monkey Fit Pro seems easier to put on but unless they come down in price, I'll keep using my regular leg extension/leg machine exercise equipment.
This was a very nice and objective review. You called things out but were honest about how it does work but where it is limited and where it is strong.
I agree with your recommendation of sticking to the original Monkey Feet for most. The price for such a small thing isn't worth the mildly better convenience.
Please keep pushing companies to improve their products and let's make sure they don't get away with cheap parts that cause moderate durability concerns. It helps keep those prices honest too.
There are other brands that do loadable ankle weights and more for less too. Not adjustable sure, but like already discussed, this is a niche product already for most.
Nice job Coop and GGR.
BoS DREADMILL SIGHTING!
Genuine question for you coop. say i were to get the originals. Could i pair them with my rep quickdraw's and use them? or do you need regular dumbbells only for these?
Regular MonkeyFeet work with any handles that are 5” or more wide, and 1.45” or less in diameter. Rep Quickdraws are "5.4" (without 2.5lb add-on weights attached)", so they should work!
@@animalhousefitness thank you for letting me know def interested in the product then!
Cool product and I think it'll be really useful for a small subset of people, but I think overall a better option for most is some nice ankle straps with good padding (or bunch up your longer socks to pad around the ankle a bit) plus an adjustable height cable system and FID bench, basically allows you to do a lot of the same exercises but with a better resistance profile that you can customize and not be restricted by weight limits much.
I use my all-in-one rack + smith machine + functional trainer + FID bench (with leg rollers) with ankle straps for leg extensions, curls, lying knee raises, tibialis raises, etc... and it works great and lets me ensure I get max tension in the stretch position for improving mobility and optimal hypertrophy. Having a spreader/multi-grip bar or some short chains can help too so you can spread your legs a bit more for bilateral exercises.
I use Monkeyfeet with my MX select 85s. They work great. MF don’t work with all adjustable DBs. I bought the MX Selects because the dimensions worked with the Monkeyfeet - would love to see a review of Monkeyfeet and the various adjustable DBs. If the price came down on the new ones I might consider them
Good review. I like that you were honest about the exorbitant cost.
My dad had a pair. I used them to train my left foot. I was born with CP. it was very helpful. So there you go. He had the Hoffman version
What is cp?

Whats that BOS Equipment in the backround lol
I love my monkey feet, dont have enough room in my single car garage to justify a dedicated machine. The pad has worn down on me but it’s not an issue, I do use adjustable dumbbells with it, works very well. It doesn’t feel as good as a machine but thats a given considering the product however adding resistance bands and utilizing different joint angles I am able to play around with the resistance curve
What adjustables do you have with the monkey feet? I have the nuobells 32kg version and the handle is 4.25inches, monkey feet state they only fit handles 5in or bigger. It's stopped me from purchasing them
@jarrarrizvi1778 Incredible use of MonkeyFeet! Thanks for sharing 😁
Please review the MAXUM SX2.
Love the channel and love the review but as a bald man myself just let the scraps go cut them down. Don’t gotta go razor but at least a one clip you’ll look way younger.😂🙌🏾😂
Nice job Coop! ❤
Costly, but pretty cool
I like my monkey feet. My biggest issue is my feet fitting in the boot at first. Took me a bit to get it where it was conformable. Second had to get the XL strap for a better fit. Why they don't add the XL strap right off the bat I will never understand.
Hey Mike! You are totally right, that's something we learned along the way. All MonkeyFeet units now come with our V2 strap as stock, which is just about as long as the XL Strap. Sorry that we didn't get that correct right off the bat!
Also - MonkeyFeet Pro has a wider base than the original MonkeyFeet, so it can fit more shoe heel "widths". Since we didn't have to design around narrow dumbbell handles we were able to expand it a bit to fit all shoes easily!
I have the nuobells adjustable and I'd love to get monkey feet but they only fit 5inch handles and nuobell are 4.25inches. So I'm interested. 35pounds isn't much weight though. I need something to mimic hamstring curls as I have a bad back and rdls and straight legs deads tend to twinge it.
They can get fed wirh that pricing. I think they think being adjustable it compares to say the nuobells which are pricey as well but they are amazing for limited space gym. You can use them for so many exercises. The pros.....i dont think the cost equals the useage. So that makes me not want them. The price is crazy high for a limited useage.
Just 35 pounds? I will stick with my cables and ankle cuffs.
Most people aren’t able to do much more than 35 pounds for meaningful rep ranges. Most cable trainers are 2:1 ratio making the weight half as heavy as is labeled. Also, the lower body, especially below the hips, is shown to respond better to slightly higher rep ranges 15-30.
@@OfficialLeverKing The weights on my cable Ares reads the half pounds, so a 45 lb label means the stack weight is 90 lb.
Get monkey feet. They hook into any size dumbbell
This feels like it's not really targeted at people that have ready access to cable machines lol
The only reason I stopped using my monkey feet was how annoying it was to change weight. This would honestly be something I’d actually continue to use
This was a main factor to why we created MF Pro in the first place. Appreciate the feedback, we hope you decide to try out MF Pro! 💪
Their website says that you can get "2.5 lb sub-intervals possible with tools" but nowhere does it say how. Did they give you that info?
Good eye! We are working on a video to explain this now. The 5lb base "boot" has two plates on it that can be removed with one screw each. Once removed, the stack then changes to 2.5/7.5/12.5/17.5/22.5/27.5/32.5 lb increments instead of 5/10/15/20/25/30/35 lb increments
Not sure how would you do the knees over toes guys exercises with these. You can't even do the tibialis raise because the weight is on the heel.
doing leg curls with this is nice but I think its primary function is strengthening hip flexors, so getting a leg curling machine instead of a heavy ass dumbbell doesn't make that much sense, they're not tools that serve the same purpose
I used ‘hang ups’ simply drop a dumbbell in the hook
Hoping this is not an endorsement 🤔 for this product⁉️
I was thinking that he only showed one because the other broke already 😂
I just attach my regular monkey feet to my 50 pound adjustable dumbbells. Then I can still quickly change weight
Too. 💪. 😎
We need a video about the rogue functional trainers
Can you stand and walk around with the product on your foot?
Yes you can! Walking in between sets is doable but obviously doing more than that can be tough with weighted feet
Please review the bullet proof vts when it comes out
These seem descent but for the price it seems like you could get ankle weights
I'd rather use a foot/ankle attachment for a cable setup for most movements
Kensui’s ANKR is better and cheaper.
Pass 😂
FYI you dont need to hang from a pull up bar to do knee raises lol
It stretches your body more and allows more core engagement
YIKES!!!
Monkey foot is just too expensive. They keep sending me advertisements and ignore it.
Youz gonna be sleeping with the fishes if you wear these in the ocean.
Meth!
if you have a rack just learn how to set up a cable system and it is better.
“Yikes”!!!!!!
I have an original one. I regret buying it. Its to much work for a less than ideal movement pattern.
You can literally buy a used or Chinese leg extension/leg curl machine for $500, it just doesn't make sense
I thought he was saying $300 for a pair. No thanks at $300 for a pair and definitely no thanks $300 each. I would rather spend money on other training equipment
waiting for rep to do thier version of this
Fairly useless product IMO. Once you put them on, its just incredibly weird and any of the exercises you're trying to simulate feel nothing like working with an actual machine. We just are not used to having free weights attached to our feet. The range of motion for something as simple as a standard leg curl feels totally awkward. I highly recommend against buying these. They sit in my garage and collect dust.
Same deal.
I feel like homegym fanatics sometimes just have to accept you need a full blown machine for a movement to feel good and nothing diy and "compact" will ever emulate that perfectly 😂
@@samj8932 plus the fun of trying to do a superset with a weight or weights on your feet.
These are mostly for hip flexors. The other exercises are mostly marketing fluff. But even for that they are too expensive and there are better monkey foot out there
little bro had to pass on meth that young? thug life
0:17 Muscletown USA? That's what I call my house when I'm talking to the ladies.
Hey baby wanna come back to Muscletown USA?
I ask them if they would like to come my town……. Pound town.
It makes no sense to buy the pros, the original idea behind monkey feet were to throw in your gym bag and use it wherever Dumbbells are available, with the weight preloaded on it, it’s no longer convenient to throw in a gym bag.
really dislike this style of product. It looks like a nicer version of it but I’m not a fan of workouts with weight below the foot.
300 bucks.... HELLLLL NOOOOOO

I’m trying to remember if I ever cared less about a piece of equipment reviewed on this channel. I know I got excited more about the leaf blower.

Useless overpriced garbage 🗑️

Original Monkey Feet is 🚮 same as the Pro version 🤮
