But they don't. Struts shift the soft soil and settle in, tap the X, engines cold. And then, silence. But beneath the composed face of a man who left home behind, shoot himself on a "carefully" put together rocket across the endless divide and firmly placed his kerbal's feet on the soil of the unknown, the spirit of the explorer wakes up. And you smile. Fun as it may be to observe the glimmering spectacle of failed launches, botched up landings and "meticulously" constructed vessels turning into fuel-less debris on an infinite orbit around Kerbol, it is in those moments when the final part of the journey ends and another begins, with engines silent, crew reporting, EVA to follow, science to gain. That is where KSP shines brightest. This game captivates the mind, during and after playing, at work, at lunch, in bed before sleep, anywhere, everywhere. Endless configurations from first to last stage, the what's, the when's and the how's constantly straining mind. The why already know. I don't know much about this man, this once 9-year-old boy. I don't remember much about him, but one thing I can always look back on is this one comment. From a boy with hopes, dreams, and desires, and even though I'm only 14 now, I wish I could send a message through time, with one simple message: "You'll get there one day. It's going to take time and effort but you will get there." While time may have aged him, goddammit that comment hasn't, and to be honest it really, really made me cry reading it 5 years later. I still don't know, especially today where I'd be without KSP, but for now, I can't really say much. #BuildFlyDream
I can never recreate my emotions of when I first landed on the Mun, after a year of learning and unlearning and scrawled maths on paper (and on finding out about the quicksave button many months after) but it warms my heart that so many thousands of you have watched this video over the six years and shared that radiant feeling with me

This is the point of kerbal space program and real life go to one world and move on to the next one. i am only 9 years old and kerbal space program has inspired me to become a astronaut in the future. You kerbal space program devs are awesome people! thank you kerbal space program you've made my life!!!
I don't know much about this man, this once 9-year-old boy. I don't remember much about him, but one thing I can always look back on is this one comment. From a boy with hopes, dreams, and desires, and even though I'm only 14 now, I wish I could send a message through time, with one simple message:
"You'll get there one day. It's going to take time and effort but you will get there."
While time may have aged him, goddammit that comment hasn't, and to be honest it really, really made me cry reading it 5 years later. I still don't know, especially today where I'd be without KSP, but for now, I can't really say much.
#BuildFlyDream
I can never recreate my emotions of when I first landed on the Mun, after a year of learning and unlearning and scrawled maths on paper (and on finding out about the quicksave button many months after) but it warms my heart that so many thousands of you have watched this video over the six years and shared that radiant feeling with me
I just wanna say that years later, this is still the best fan made trailer ever in existance
Amazing trailer, not gonna lie. 6 years too late but it really hypes you up.
