A phenomenal mansion that was once built for a family that envisioned it exactly how they wanted for the era. Let me know, which room would you hangout more in ?
The pool room, or the living room? It's hard to pick ! Thank you guys for watching and having continuous support ❤️

The pool area is the most attractive part of this home, with the passageways coming in 2nd.
People are saying it’s a shame this structure will be torn down, but there are plenty of outdated and uninspiring features to the house - notably the dining and living room areas and the dark, windowless kitchen.
Personally, if I purchased this property, I’d see if the pool area could be saved -and the rest could go. Then, I’d design a new home in place of the outdated structures - incorporating the pool room.

      @zachmoyer1849 2 місяці тому +2

@@jenniferlynn3537 the utilitarian design of the kitchen is likely very intentional. Easy cleaning being able to reach all surfaces. The low ceilings make it easier to adequately and accurately light all portions of the kitchen as well. A kitchen is going to be used at all times of the day so you cant rely on natural lighting. I think with those windows uncovered and it simply being updated you would not find it so odd its just the most dated looking part of the house.

Knowing this level of beauty and craftsmanship is going to be demolished and likely replaced with some bland, soulless McMansion is honestly depressing. This place could be restored and turned into a workshop of some kind. Not only would it make a great recording studio. But it could be a retreat for architecture students, artists, writers, etc.

Beautiful...but too big for anyone who isn't super rich. Just the cost to re-do the roof would be more than what most of us would pay for a brand new home. I love 70s architecture so much from the beginning of the decade to the end. I was born in '76 and can still remember a bit of the late 70s designs changing into the early 80s. Lots of brown and orange for sure, but everything looked so good. It was so great to experience and much better than the drab, plain, lifeless desgins and colors that we have today. If I ever get a house I'm going to decorate it in early to mid 70s with a lot of brown, orange, yellow, green and red. Even with vintage appliances, lighting and shag carpeting. And I'm going to have an early 70s station wagon to go with it. Who here remembers the 70s and enjoys the designs too?

Me! Born in 60s but really dug the 70s. I lived next door to a Czech family who had a house reminiscent of this (on a smaller scale) and it was built to last and very much celebrating light & space, wood, rock, glass, angles, levels, beams. Love the terrarium in this place too. Had that quadrangle feel to it. Imagine a big white stereo egg chair suspended from one of those great wooden beams with a white long fun- fur interior? Man! I've been in one of those!! Imagine the parties in this grand house?

Shame about not filming the ceiling above that little bathroom window, I got the idea there was a window (for ventilation?) up there. Would be a smart move. Also did you notice how these three upper deck reclined seats are for sunbathing? This house has a really smart designer. Calendars look Indonesian, like the interior. That game table is Foosball. And thank you for being so respectful. That place was most likely built in the mid 70's by magnificent master carpenters and stone masons. And the massive glass panels! Stunningly beautiful. Those craftsmen are very hard to find today. The knowledge has just disappeared. Hard to believe there's not much more water and sun damage. The globe light fixtures and gold bathroom fixtures throughout the house are definitely 80's. To me, the core of the house, the entertainment spaces seems to have been been the original portion of the structure with several of the bedrooms and smaller hallways etc, added later. Just going by the building materials used. But that place is/was truly incredible. And you are so right, it's such a sad thing for a house with so much beauty and artisan quality to be demolished. Those weren't records, they were Laser Discs. They were scattered and broken all over in the hallway to the pool. Laser Disc players were more popular in Japan then here overall, especially due to Karaoke, hence all the karaoke discs. Kinda hard to do Karaoke on vinyl, they don't do video too well. That stereo setup was typical 70's Hifi, though probably a fairly expensive one for its time. They just had a custom cabinet made to hold it all and built in the speakers on the ends. The stereo tuner is just a typical cabinet kind, hung down in there by it's faceplate to save space. Ditto for the turntable. Tapedeck was probably a very early one. It's pretty obvious that the place had a significant remodel in the late 80's/early 90's, then probably another one in the early 2000s judging by the decor. There's really not a lot of the 70's left in it other than the kitchen appliances and that sound system. Still a neat house. The sink in the office or whatever that room had been was part of another bar. Would have had all your liquor and glasses up on those glass shelves.
The thing in the garage was a fooseball table.

A nice receiver for that time period, but being as wealthy as they were, I'm very surprised the owner didn't get the KR-9600 - 160 watts per channel - an excellent receiver - top notch by Kenwood, possibly the best they ever made. The reason why I bring the stereo up is you can see the music center was built in to the house around the time that the receiver was brand new 1974 thru 1976.

Whoever bought or is buying that place will likely NOT reclaim anything unless the contractor has some interest in doing that. This is a very, very affluent neighborhood and the new buyers will just build what they want and not give a crap about the existing house. Sad but I think that is true. Hopefully the demo contractor has some sort of plan for that material.

The contractor who is knocking down the house will know the score in relationship to reclaimed timber.. He’ll have a friend and a deal will be struck, I doubt there’s going to be a bonfire with toasted marshmallows etc…..

Wow this music at the beginning is so fitting in.
The living room is my favourite of all rooms.😁
Just imagine, this house could be a place for an old James Bond movie from the 60s. So beautiful. Maybe if I would have that much money, I also woul buy me a house like this.

Shameful to leave the beautiful land behind❤a modern ranch. This house is very well maintained even though is abandoned...huge & massive house!
the large windows showing the outdoor greenery... beautiful pool, entertainment room with levels for entertainment, wow, that was a very expensive home to built... best feature the wood ceilings, unbelievable !

This place kills me. So angular and cavernous and groovy. Great video, bud. 🖤

5:20 Of course the drawers had labels printed on them with fake wood. This was STANDARD for refrigerators of the 1970's. 😂

I love how the guest rooms look like hotel rooms. It's like they were reminding guests that they can't stay forever.

Thank you for documenting this beautiful piece of history before it was demolished. Something that really saddens me is the destruction of gorgeous works of art like this, only to be replaced by modern mega McMansions. It also saddens me that we will never see this kind of architecture ever again.

That house and the architecture is so dope. If I won the lottery I would build something similar with the wood, stone, and natural light. The green house between the kitchen and family room is the chronic. 😊

I typically like traditional architecture more than modern architecture, but this house is an example of modern architecture that I like just as much as traditional architecture. The architect of this house created a modern masterpiece.
This is a beautiful, well built, well designed 1970s modern style house that makes perfect use of stone, wood, and windows. This house seems to have all of the positive attributes of 1970s architecture with none of the negative.
The pool room is more impressive than the living room in terms of scale, but I would spend more time hanging out in the living room as it has a cozier atmosphere.
It’s a waste and shame that this house will be torn down.
It’s impressive that the former inhabitants had so many records from the mid-1990s as records were hard to come by then.
Records had largely been replaced by CDs and cassettes at that point and were not yet cool in a retro sense as they are now.
