- The Starfield Pronouns Debate and why it's irrelevant:
I recently saw on Twitter that Az from HeelvsBabyface was sounding off rather passionately about Pronouns and 'Current Day'-ism. This also involved Hassan Piker and Jeremy from The Quartering.
Clarification: When I say in the video that I don't care what your opinions/political views are, it's not from a place of ignorance or disinterest. Your beliefs are your beliefs, I'm not about to judge or call you out on what you believe. Paul Harrell said in a video of his that he always takes into account that people form their opinions based on what they have experienced, seen and done (paraphrasing obviously). So when I say I don't care if you're left wing, right wing, pro or anti LGBTQ+, it's because my channel's scope is not political in nature. We're here to learn, to laugh, and to enjoy each other's company. The world is depressing enough as it is, and as someone who used to be really political in the past, I've moved away from it and I just want to be an internet funny man and brighten people's day.

Bro, I love your rational chill takes. Youre open minded and truly dont let your biases interfere. Lets just enjoy good games and have rational discussions.
Ayy thanks bro
greetings stranger. Granted i dont care for starfield and Hassan and the drama but the thing with heel vs babbyface is the anger is also part of his gimmick of needlessly angry video game nerd like the older days of youtube, and the pronouns was a spring board for the rant that took place 6h later or some shit from the start of the game. As for saints row, I as a 20 year old, witch i think places me in gen z. do not relate to whining about loans and waving around pride junk and fighting for social justice in what is supposed to be a satirized extreme gangster fantasy so the older saint rows more appealing to me than the remake.
I can respect that. I grew up with the original saints row games, which is why the reboot stood out so much to me with how tonally messed up it was. I’d rather be kicking it with Johnny Gat than being reminded of my own student loans lmao.
As for starfield and HvBf, I played to a point where I think kicked his rant off but it, to me, didn’t really make sense to why he would be angry. There’s a character that was a clone of some legendary admiral, and while the template was male, the clone turned out female. I could be wrong but most of what I see in starfield looks to be at the very least narratively consistent with itself. With the angry video game nerd gimmick, it kinda falls flat nowadays because everyone is angry about something and as you can see, people just look for a reason to start shouting and throwing furniture around but idk
@@the_other_jackal I am biased I can admit that much. So my views are probably heavily scewd to side with HvBf. But I think his point of "modern shit everywhere" still stands in his case at least since his sphere of the internet pushes him to it more than others. While usually having extremely poor reasoning for it
@@kalev_knight see this is where I can’t seem to get much sense, with the whole ‘modern day shit everywhere’
I get seeing ‘pronouns’ and maybe some at face value appraisals of things in game is one thing, but Baldurs Gate 3 allows you to make a non binary/other character, but everyone seems content to deep throat BG3 despite this.
Both games are pretty good, and being watchful of ideological agenda pushing is also good. I quit playing mirrors edge catalyst after spotting similar things.
I suppose it has to depend on your personal point of view. I can handle the pronouns thing, I can handle the odd options in BG3. But there are some absolutely horrendous takes and equivalencies being drawn to starfield that I think is outlandish as far as a fun space game is concerned. If starfield was pushing “everything for the good of the collective, faith! Individuality is evil, faith!” A La mirrors edge, I’d be right on board, but as it stands, I can’t see it tbh
@@the_other_jackal fair enough tho I think in this specific case it's a bit of hypocritical favoritism because BG3 is part of a beloved franchise I have herd a fair bit of the people who complained about starfield didn't play bauldurs gate3 at least in HeelvsBabyface case
@@kalev_knight yeah, I feel you
