- It has been a while since I shared my vintage finds with you. So, I thought I would share some pieces I have picked up both online and at brocantes here in France. As always, I love to regularly trawl Vinted and pick up any true vintage pieces I find for cheap. But I really hit the jackpot recently with some beautiful 1950s couture dresses from an unexpected location.

I love your nails, and I wondered if you ever did a video on vintage manicures ? It would be very interesting to see your tips and tricks in this topic if you have any. I love how women's nails looked especially in the 1940's-50's and 70's, and I think a lot of vintage lovers would like a video on the subject !

That yellowy changeable taffeta dress is so stunning, the cut is gorgeous on you! I would almost suggest having her cloned and remade in another fabric that you find more flattering because her bones are immaculate! You can see the quality workmanship on all three of those through the screen.

I really love your finds. They are totally gorgeous! I would love your tips on getting a small waist. I used to have a very small waist until I had a baby. I know that's life. Your camera is very crisp and clear, looks great. Love your haul!
I haven’t got any tips I’m afraid. I just buy for my natural body shape. At the moment I’m almost 10kg overweight, and most of it on my waistline, due to grief and not looking after myself diet and exercise-wise for over a year. I’m only telling you this because I don’t want you to compare yourself to me and feel bad. I’m trying to be kind to myself and accept changes during difficult times. I’d rather encourage others to be kind to themselves and make healthy choices, than give you tips on how to become skinny. It’s ok to change size and buy clothing that is comfortable in the now ♥️

Bee, I might be wrong and I've been burned before, but when you lifted the skirt of the beige dress I think I spotted a decent amount of seam allowance!
Sometimes they taper them off at the waist to reduce bulk and then there's not much to be done, but it's otherwise doable!
It's a tedious job reworking each seam, but the reward would be priceless, that dress is just**wow**

It’s true I could probably alter her but I own a lot of vintage and these days I largely purchase to resell…and then I try to keep everything! Supposed to be paying bills over here! 🤫🤣

When I go shopping I take two things with me:
1. Measurements of different clothes that fit me really well. Eg. Bust and armhole measurement of a dress, waistband and hip measurements of a skirt, bust and armhole measurents of a jacket etc...
2. I also take my trusty tape measure.
These have been invaluable in helping me find clothes that fit me well.

Yes! So true. Unfortunately in Dijon there’s is next-to-no vintage so when I find it in completely unexpected places I am unprepared and need to take a gamble 🤣 I know to be prepared for the next visit to that brocante!

Thank you 💕 Yes. I should really give up after MANY purchases that didn’t fit thighs, calves, inseam etc and just make them to measure 😂

Vintage pieces can be fixed by a tailor they used to keep extra lining to change the fitting
So true. I have a couple I have recommended over the years here on my channel. I am lucky enough to have a pretty constant supply of vintage coming into my life so I prefer to pass bigger pieces on, rather than making them smaller, as they’re difficult to come across. Unless you mean the pants that are too small…in which case there’s no hope 🤣. Like, they’re WAAAAAAAY too small.

You’re right that’s a great option. I just really wanted the real-deal 😮💨 Still haven’t plugged it in. I want to wait and try the hot rollers (when I find some) and the hairdryer in a video 😃

I agree with you that the design and style of the time was very cool and classy. Personally, knowing what my grandparents on both sides endured during those decades, I’m very glad to be able to enjoy the aesthetics of the past from the present day.
