You should be very happy with this journal, it's beautiful and the papers you have chosen are lovely ladies and I really like it a bunch. So enjoy your videos and you have a great laugh !! Thanks again for sharing 👍🏻😀 !!
Cheryl, this is so lovely! You truly are talented and inspirational. I look forward to your future posts, and treasure the past projects you have shared with us.
I think your journals are all exceptional Cheryl and this one is also. Your attention to detail puts it over the top as usual. Very inspiring. Gorgeous! TFS
Another beautiful journal Cheryl. I love the flexible and tactile cover. The Digi Kit is gorgeous and I love the way it has been embellished. Your work is so well put together, so neat and tidy. I strive for a similar outcome but somehow never quite achieve it. Thank you for sharing your craft. It is inspirational.
Really cool huge journal and still with all your mixed media and and shimmery beautiful touches throughout the book. Your swap partner will be thrilled.
It's another Stunner, beautifully done. I just recently found Punkin Patch and enjoy her work as well. She is very lucky to be able to swap with you and she'll love this journal for sure. Thanks ever so much D.
This is absolutely stunning Cheryl! She is a lucky person to have something that you have a created. Your work is done with so much thought and love. Hopefully you are thinking seriously of starting your own Etsy shop. I love watching your videos.❤
This journal is beautiful ! , I love Vintage and I'm sure your swap partner is going to be thrilled when she receives it , it's so gorgeous . Tfs sending hugs Sarah xx
Gorgeous journal and I know your swap partner will love it. I love the music paper with the butterfly on it and your note cards. Your did a great job on them. You really need to come out with your own journal kit. I know it would be awsome. I'll be your first customer.
Gorgeous, Cheryl. Now I have to try the Kraftex for myself. :) And I can't wait to see what all you come up with for some digital journal designs. What I've seen so far is just lovely!!
and i have made 13 scrapbooks in about 6 different styles. i always didnt like how vulnerable the cover paper was. i like the idea of gluing. it DOES make the paper wavy and warped, but i think it adds character and life. i'm doing a "simple" style and then i cant WAIT to try this kind. a client was going to throw out a bunch of the manilla envelopes so i am re-purposing them and so excited just typing the words. i have so many favorite little scraps that will find a good home!
i have also found that glue really reinforces the strength and stability. especially on a hidden hinge binding system, i ALWAYS glue cuz no tape holds in together. maybe i make my books so big and chunky? i dont know but glue is my preferred method. what did the world do before glue? haha
stunning book! love every element and detail about it! Val is amazing. you scored a gem of a swap partner! love your work and miss the frequent postings. pinning this one when i get to my computer to be certain! tfs!
Such a beautiful journal Cheryl. I'm not a fan of the collection but everything else is so beautiful and detailed. As always, thank you for sharing your process and your beautiful art. Have a wonderful week.
Beautiful journal Cheryl and thanks for the shoutout! You might be glad to hear that my regular shop digis can be used in journals for sale. I love that you ended up using the last flower on the elastic. And the spine is gorgeous. Tfs :)
So very pretty, I loved it ... I have to admit I'm not a huge blue fan either myself .... and agree on the swapping, it's stressful and exhausting ... But a lot of fun at the same time ... TFS .... xox Fiona
The name of the paint brush is called "scruffy", a scruffy brush, I have different sizes to it because I do paint. To many comments for me to read so I hope I'm not repeating if someone else already named it. The book is very nice. I have a bit of the EVG paper collections from Betsy, and they are so pretty. Thank you for sharing doll. Sending hugs...Carolyn...
Just wanted to say hello and that I'm a fairly new subscriber and I think your journals are fabulous. I enjoy watching your tutorials and am learning a lot. You are an excellent teacher.
All your work is so beautifully put together, you are THE PRO, in my opinion. Everything is so pretty the way your coordinate colors & the little Cheryl touches. Thank you so much for sharing your special work. Do you have a video showing how you tea/coffee stain paper. I love the grunge/splotchy look & mine does not come out that way? lol Mine sounds like yours but not nearly as colorful & antique looking as yours. My inquiring mind wants to know if you did, will or can show your process. Rest & get ready for the next project...you know we will be waiting. (Felicia, Texas)
No I don't Felicia, but I can tell you how I do it. I put my tea or coffee in a spray bottle. Lay your papers on a cookie sheet and spray one side, flip and spray the other. The more times you use your cookie sheet the more grunge you get from the build up. Make sure you get drips and not an even spray if you want the blotchy look. Bake in a 300 oven for a few minutes, when they start to curl, flip them over. I tend to use tea now because it doesn't leave such a strong odor. I use about 1 teabag per cup of water.
Your work is so perfect, creative, and clever that i feel like i may just as well give up making my pitiful journals. They are so lame in comparison to yours!
I so enjoy your videos of your journals. I always come away with tons of new ideas and ways of using the stuff I have. Plus I find list of sprays and supplies I want to add to my stash. You mentioned your Facebook. Is a closed group, awe you accepting new members?
I'm re watching all your videos for like the 20th time. Go to this video and around 22 minutes, there is a pic of a lady. I have a real picture I found at an antique store and it looks kinda like her but a little crazier. If I forget please remind me to tell you the story and send you a copy of the picture. Lol
Hi. Thank you so much for showing your creations and techniques. I have been so disappointed in seeing the brushstrokes on my lovely covers. If you could possibly find the time to show how you do the dabbing to avoid this i would be so grateful.
This journal is gorgeous! I just discovered your channel, now I'm going back and rewatching your videos. I don't know if you've shown it already or not, but do you think you could do a video showing how you do multiple signatures in the same journal? I'm having trouble conceptualizing that.
I haven't done more than a single signature tutorial, but I can show on one of my tips tricks and tools episodes how you would figure it out if that helps
hello! im new to your channel, your work is absolutely wonderful!!!! could you please tell me if you use cross stitch spine for signatures? do you stitch the signatures one by one or all together to the spine? thanks for your time and Regards from Chile to you and your mom :)
Charming Nails and Crafty I have a new video showing how I use a cross stitch. Yes I sew the signatures at the same time. I don't stitch them together first.
Another beautiful journal, Cheryl! I love the way you put together the cover. So, you sewed the chipboard to the 2 pieces of Kraft Tex? And then you bound the signatures in using the pamphlet stitch? I've been really indifferent about making another journal lately, but watching your video , the wayward mojo has snapped back into place and suddenly all kinds of ideas arise. So, please don't worry that your videos are too long! Tfs!
Hi Gita, I first scored to find my center spine, 1 inch off center on either side to get a 2 inch spine. Cut my chipboard slightly smaller to allow for the bend, and shorter to allow the sewing machine to get past it. Stuck the chipboard down with just 1 strip of double sided tape so it wouldn't get caught in the stitching, but would stay in place. Then sewed my first stitches on either side of the chipboard to hold it in, then finished around the cover. Glad I could help with the mojo
This is absolutely beautiful, Cheryl! Did I miss it or did you say what color the Kraftex is that you started out with on the cover? Do you tea or coffee dye that before starting? This looks like it is wonderful to work with. Am I right in thinking you can only order that on line?
do you sell any of your journals? I would love to buy one and use as a memory book for pictures and memories of my lost loved ones. I love your work, it is all so beautiful and inspiring.

Really like this idea of Kraft tex. And chip board spine, just wondering how you stitched your signatures to chip board.. Beautiful book. Diane
I didn't use a heavy weight chipboard.

Not sure of the name, but I got is from Donna Dewberry

Another beautiful journal, Cheryl! I love the way you put together the cover. So, you sewed the chipboard to the 2 pieces of Kraft Tex? And then you bound the signatures in using the pamphlet stitch? I didn't actually, it's 6x8.5

It's just the kraft color, and no I didn't tea stain it. And I'm not sure if you can buy it in store.
do you sell any of your journals? I would love to buy one and use as a memory book for pictures and memories of my lost loved ones. I love your work, it is all so beautiful and inspiring.
Not at this time Shawn. I hope to in the future
