Fortunate Son, Born on the Bayou, Run Through the Jungle, I Put A Spell on You, Have You Ever Seen the Rain? Hey Tonight! Down on the Corner, and on and on. I could go on and on. They literally don't have a bad song. John Fogerty is the genius behind it all- lead singer, lead guitar, wrote their songs. He still tours today.

Absolutely one of their standout best deep cuts.
    A quick piece of trivia.
Up to this album they had never made a weak album.
Coming out of the1960's San Francisco area and not really swinging with the Psychedelic days commonplace.
They approached the 1970's with a masterwork! Of AMERICANA!!

Hey, this was an unlikely one but always one of my fave CCR songs. Glad you gave it a listen. Other CCR recommendations are Green River and Fortunate Son. Thus one was one of their very few where they dipped their toe in 60s psychedelia. And as I've said on a few of your clips, don't sweat the lyrics unless you get into Dylan, Cohen, Simon or Floyd.

I just listened to a female singer, and thought maybe you could add her to the channel some day. Our generation loves her, but on reaction channels she has been lost among memories of the great bands and the men. (A few listens, so not 100% list) The song to start with is Diamonds and Rust. It's evocative poetry. Acoustic guitar. Her style of playing is described as "elegant". She wrote it in '74, and we all know who she wrote it about. Her voice is quite special. There is a lyric video with photos of her and her song's subject, to take everyone back in time.

It’s pretty hard to find a bad CCR song, but this album, Cosmo’s Factory, is one of those perfect albums, like Boston’s debut, (and The Who- Who’s Next, and Descendents- Milo Goes To College), that’s amazing beginning to end! Some tracks might be a tad weaker than others, but none are, by any means, weak.

I like your intelligent approach, honesty and emotional intelligence. I also ennoy the lack of histrionics 😊.
I'd love to see you react to Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds playing "As I sat sadly by her side"
Nick Cave is an iconic Australian artist, known for his deep dark voice, songwrriting abilities and kind of gothic foreboding aura.
Despite the name the song isn't a 3 kleenex weepy, just a little ...bleak. Lyrically very interesting.

Yes, to Heard It Through The Grape Vine! And if you want to use it for a version comparison between artists, there are quite a few, from which, to choose (Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Marvin Gaye, Isley Brothers, Temptations, Gladys Night and the Pips, and of course, Creedence). Most (except Creedence) are quite short - so I'd suggest that you do three: 1) Gladys Night and the Pips (first one released as a single), 2) Marvin Gaye (iconic), and finally 3) Creedence. Make sure you do one of the longer Creedence versions - not the abbreviated radio cut.

Wonder if Proud Mary by CCR should go alongside Tina Turner doing her version? Especially for the novelty of seeing what Tina could do to a song. Live, to wake up even a TV audience. Wake UP and look at Tina. Haven't seen that in a long time. Well it was more novel then, than now. She broke the ground for those to come.

CCR is an absolute goldmine. throughout the late 60's and early 70's they dropped PERFECT singles, one right after the other. You'll find so many good songs in their catalog, you won't believe it. The only modern band I can compare them to, in terms of consistent quality, is Nightwish. Dig as deep as you like, you won't find any mediocrity.
And yes, we DO want you to do "Grapevine". You do too, you just don't know it yet.
