Trunks is one of my favorite characters in the anime. He is in a way a tragic character who lost many people he deeply cared about and went through hell and back just to fix the timeline. And this song is very fitting.

They could’ve let the sword of hope actually overpower Zamasu’s immortality as a sort of metaphor, while Goku could’ve still used the button and said “Hey Zeni! I’m Goku! Are you lonely? I’ve got a friend I’d like you to meet” then return with Zeno to his time and boom, trunks is fine.
Future Trunks is my favorite character of all. He did everything to change the future of everyone, but couldn't change his own, he could kill the androids but couldn't revive his loved ones. The most altruistic character I've ever seen. The true will power. And I love this song. Toriyama sensei forever ⭐

I actually came here from TFS but I first heard the song in Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22 and when TFS used "TRUNKS'/"Hikari no WILL POWER", oh the nostalgia! Today, I also discovered that the song later appeared in Final Bout (arranged) and Shin Butoken (same one as UB22) and I also discovered this vocal arrangement.

That future trunks is so different from the other trunks cuz he went through hell and had to fight on his own after his last friend and mentor gohan died. That is why he never plays around and kills straight and tries to end fights fast not like goku for example. He knows the hell and dont want to experience it again! He even says it in when vegeta wants to become cell perfect!

I think I found a MIDI file of this song first, and then later found a website that had some real-ass DB songs and was blown away by it.
