Deeb won the event for the second time, claiming the $1.2 million first prize after outlasting Ka Kwan Lau, John Beauprez, Maxx Coleman, and Vesselin Karakitukov.

In PLO you have to use two cards from your hand. So he has trip 8s, not a full house

it's confusing if you only know Texas hold 'em with the best 5 card hand. With Texas hold 'em you can use 1 or both hold cards to make your best poker hand. With Omaha Poker you are required to use 2 of your hold cards along with 2 or 3 of the community cards to make your best 5 card poker hand. So Lau couldn't use KK8 to make the best boat with KKK88 as that would be using 3 of his hold cards, his best poker hand using 2 hold cards (required in Omaha) was two pair KK88. Deeb's best poker hand was a boat with the 66555 using the 2 cards from his hold (5 & 6) Calling for Lau with two pairs was risky with 2 possible sets out there which also would have beat his two pair. The odds of your opponent having a set was around 12% so not a horrible call. The only two pair that would beat his hand was AA88 and the odds of his opponent having AA was about 6%. Odds of flush hitting Deeb was also around 10%. Straight wasn't possible this hand.

@@michaelsamchuk1819 You're right, completly forgot about the set with the A. Calling makes a lot more sense when only a boat, flush, or quad 5s was beating him in that spot.
Totally outplayed his opponent heads up. Flatting the turn, the last hand, proved to be a horrible mistake

Wow I would never call there at 9:47 - one pair with no back doors on a two flush, very straighty flop. 1.5 mil into 2mil is not giving the right price surely. I know he's short and you want the KO, but you also don't want to give away easy double ups for the shortys. Not a criticism as obviously Deeb is a poker end boss, I would just love to hear his justification for that call.
because in that spot the short stack is/should be stacking off there light, hence deeb especially with a huge chip lead should be calling very light.

For the people confused in Omaha you can only use 2 cards in your hand so Lau in that case has 888A6 for Trip 8s and not a full house that’s why Deeb wins because he has 5 6 for 5’s full of 6’s
