Josh’s idea that Harbough would avoid trading out of their pick so another team would take McCarthy makes no sense to me. His job is to make his team better, period.
hasnt he been talking him up too? If anything Harbaugh wants him to be drafted as high as possible since he has some sort of relationship with him and his family as his former coach. Harbaugh wants him to get the bag and be successful to make himself look better as a coach.

Josh's mock draft was awesome, the only person I've heard outside of Simms really go outside the box. Really got me thinking.
A Vote for Josh: I'll admit I usually fall on the Hayden side on who I agree with ......but your mock draft is actually the most convincing one ive seen. Kudos. (As a bears fan I'll be sad to not get odunze even tho he falls, but a trade back for Murphy feels real)

Man, the 3/4 trades make so much sense... but I just don't see Cardinals trading out of not getting a blue Chip WR... I know they have a lot of holes... but that's their biggest.
Norris, as it pertains to NE/MIN trade, you think that’s enough compensation to go from 3 to 11? I feel like the Patriots will demand more, especially because the Vikings are a QB away from contending and that 2025 1st could be 20+….just seems like giving up choice of QB, Alt, and probably the top 3 WRs (all positional needs) would require more compensation imo.

@@alexanderlawson3898 that will change after the draft and during the early weeks of the season if they hit on QB. You have to factor that into any trade offer. You can’t assume you’re trading with a 6 win team.
If the Vikes make Josh Norris' deal, we'll essentially have 1 pick (#3 this year) in the first three rounds over the next two years. I want them to make a move, but I think giving up three firsts to move up 8 spots is too much.
Especially for a QB that isn’t even a top 20 prospect. Nix is a way better fit in Minnesota than JJ is. He is a great decision maker, extremely smart, gets rid of the ball quick, very accurate, and will be able to get the ball to the Vikings elite receivers and let them cook. Similar to what Kirk Cousins was doing. But way more athletic.
So you're telling me the vikes will have to give up at least 3 1st for 4 but the broncos will get it done with 2 1st and a 2nd. Most of the broncos picks in 2025 too.
Edit: also Sutton who is a wr 2 probably worth a 3rd if diggs is worth a 2025 2nd

@@mateusbonorino8991 You're right I did. Sutton is a fa soon on the older side and a wr 2. He's worth a third at most imo considering what players like Juedy, Ridley and Diggs got traded for in similar situations situations.
There’s no doubt Hayden hits more picks than Josh. I’m not sure Josh will get a pick after Caleb Williams right but I loved listening to them.

The Bills would need Denver to restruture Sutton's contract, which would leave Denver with more deady money, so that would definitely impact what the Bills get back.
I like joshs mock, most of them make too much sense and this one take into consideration some gm's just do what they want. Great stuff

Las Vegas Raiders will trade up and draft JJ McCarthy.
Why?
1 - Top 3 talk from Antonio Pierce.
2 - Antonio Pierce was not only the Assistant LB Coach, but MUCH more importantly, the Recruiting Coordinator with the team.
4 - Marvin Lewis was a Special Advisor at this same time.
5 - Not only was JJ McCarthy offered from Arizona State, but he also took a visit to the campus.
6 - His QB coach at Michigan, Kirk Campbell, played for Luke Getsy at West Virginia Wesleyan.
7 - McCarthy called Pierce “a great guy” and “someone I could definitely see myself playing for.”
8 - Former Chargers GM Tom Telesco is now GM of the Raiders.

"Sean Payton lacks patience." EXACTLY. That's why he doesn't want a rookie QB. He's never drafted one highly or developed one in his 25+ year NFL career. He doesn't trade up to get one in this draft. He continues to build out the team, maybe even trading down for more picks, and then hopes to get a veteran in the near future.

Still don’t think the Broncos trade up for QB. I know Payton isn’t patient but I find it much more likely they try to trade down into the 20s (Eagles?), recoup the 2nd round pick, then take CB/DL in round 1 get aggressive in round 2 for Nix

Taking a tackle over MHJ would be 1 foot out of the door for Jim Harbaugh. You can't go in with a 2 WR set of Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston or a later rookie. You just can't.
Except, he just won a natty with a run heavy team and got better every season after abandoning the spread... I see your point but OL is far more likely in this case.

LMAO. Vikings might not think Maye has the cleanest throws. But he is the best QB for Justin Jefferson. He relies on Body Control and adjusting and attacking the ball while in the air. Maye has that touch to make all throws into tight placed. McCarthy throws hard line drives with a lot of power. and needs WR that can get separation in open space with a lot of speed. That will be allot tougher in the NFL. Maye is our guy.
As a Niners fan Josh I don not like that you had a bunch of the perfect guys for them go off the board in a row right before. Guyton, Chop, Newton, Verse, D Robinson, Morgan and end them up with a second rate Tackle imo. Not that you’re wrong just 31 is right off the edge of the cliff. 28+- is where the Niners wish they were picking. Hopefully 1-2 more WRs go in the 20s pushing some guys down

In the first mock the Vikings are getting a deal because the drafter knew he wasn’t going to draft JJ to the Giants. In the real world it is not worth the risk to miss out on the quarterback that they covet.

Sutton trade for the Bills is an interesting one, havent't seen that incorporated in mock like this yet. And I applaud you for Verse over Mitchell, that is 100% the right pick and most of Bills mafia has AD Fattigue at this point lol.

Herbert has a no trade clause. The dead cap for trading him year 1 is $150 million. Year 2 over $220 million. He pushing JJ to push his value and for the Chargers to have #1 non QB pick. 🤯

Bears need a DE, no way they take Murphy. They didn’t even bring him in on a top 30. While I am a bit hesitant to believe Poles trades out of Rome falling to us that pick at 12 would most certainly be a DE.

The idea that someone as competitive and with as much self conviction as Harbaugh would actively hurt his team because of the small odss that McCarthy is better than Herbert is an embarrasingly bad take.
If anything Harbaugh would love to send McCarthy to Minnesota which is widely considered the best QB destination. The logic of Harbaugh not trading because he is scared is so bad and exudes so much small dick energy it is laughable. Do better, guys.

The Vikings draft capital is incredibly overrated. 11, which is outside of elite prospect territory, and 23, which is outside of “1st round grade” territory. Any future first would project as a mid-1st at best. Patriots would be foolish to move off of 3 for that. If they trade back it would/should be with NYG.
