What a pairing. Whoever decided to get Lance to chop it up w Steve, I appreciate you.
Great format and two of the most honest tape evaluators.
That's would be me lol
I love Steve smith for draft breakdowns, he is my guy for wrs. His breakdown’s are just so on point and not for media clicks
Steve Smith the Real wr evaluator. If I were an NFL team, I would pay him to look at all the wr in the draft. He knows what he is talking about .
Adonai Mitchell is better than odunze
@@123shoshanhe’s not
Except when he was hyping up that bum Jonathan Mingo
@@marinh.7514you don't have to agree with a suggestion of mine. I did Mingo break down just like everyone else. However calling him a bum after 1yr on a team who didnt have a identity! Thats what im saying!
He’s a beast! Do you think he can be a true alpha WR1?
@@kevinblue1976yes. I was super low on him for a while but revisiting him after this video. If DK can fix his routes, so can Thomas. Not quite as freaky, but IMO clear cut WR4 in the draft.

Watching this video felt like a masterclass in drafting WRs. Great chemistry, fellas!
Steve wr analysis and breakdowns, are GOATED!
Man I love Steve Smith Sr. Breakdowns I learn so much from these segments. Littler things that I overlook and Steve breaks it down so great!
I like that he explains why he likes or doesn’t like certain traits. He was one of my favorite all time players and I respect his opinion

Steve we need this duo more! My brain doing backflips with this duo
Lance holdin it dine for us in HTine! Love this collab!
Y’all need to make this a regular come draft season!
And Steve, Lance talks about you and your breakdown ALOT on the radio!
This was even before you were hitting in the draft picks! He already knew!
Much Love from Htown! Keep tha content coming!
This makes me feel better about Xavier Worthy pick by the Chiefs 😊
Love you're work SSSr, We're at the genesis of the WR revolution. The Art of WR. Definitely an opportunity to talk more about this. The evolution, the revolution and the future of the position.
Yes. Yes. After watching the evaluations this is a good way to bring it around !
Love this content!! Great insight and perspective.
Loved seeing these two do eval together, great pairing, great video, loved the long format discussion
Man, great show guys! So much knowledge and education 🤟🏻
The fact that Thomas was cool with whatever role they gave him made me like him more lol. Don't have to worry about him being a diva, he'll come in and do whatever a team asks him and be great with it and at it.
This should be a regular podcast pairing. It would be amazing. Awesome insight and info from both Steve and Lance. 👏🏼
Steve love the shirt and hat combo brother. Great breakdown as always from a phenomenal person and player. Very much appreciate it. Considering these players for Dynasty 😄
"then theres some.. who.. who like blueberry bagels" 😂😂
This is a great interview, I need more of this
Thanks guys
Nabers is one only because u can move him all around inside outside. He can win Marv is your classic X Wr u leave one side of the field and let the defense choose how they wanna slide to his side. Nabers u gotta think of a different plan from when he’s lined up outside, in the slot, goes in motion, pre snap motion, and the backfield if he OC is creative. U can’t go wrong tho
Also I would say Nabers RAC ability is going to be special if he breaks a tackle he's gone
Modern offenses would move MHJ around. Act like teams aren't moving guys like CeeDee Lamb, Chase, etc around so they can get even more open.
MHJ can easily play inside. His route running is ready NFL great. He just can succeed at X outside at a high level so offenses can move around someone else to help them out.
Nabers can't just line up at X every play. He has trouble with press sometimes.
MHJ offers much more flexibility.
Isn’t it true that Nabers mostly stayed in the slot because he struggles with press on the outside? Also mhj can play anywhere with no problems at all.
@@David-eh3ht complete cap if u wanna talk about his best traits his release package and being able to beat/ get off man press coverage is what makes the marv/ Nabers convo even tougher. Cuz they both Can beat man, but marv is gonna do most of his work out wide
@@ARSP33LS if u watched the video of smiths breakdown of Nabers he said the complete opposite and I have marv at 1.
Steve you should be the GUY EVERY TEAM in the league call's when they need an evaluation of a wide receiver's talent.
Panthers called him. He said draft Jonathan Mingo. ELITE talent evaluation

Steve and Lance are two of the guys I love to hear when discussing prospects. Mad respect to Steve the HOF baller and getting better everyday as an analyst. This video was so informative and entertaining. I have to admit, I was getting frustrated not hearing Legette's name. Then, Steve dropped him in at #9. I just see this young guy built like AJ Brown, DK, and Deebo. So many analysts have Legette outside their top 10. Thanx for not letting me down Steve. I really like Corley and Pearsall too. Thanx again.
There he is. THE REAL STEVE SMITH. BRAVO
Raiders fan here:
Good example of not getting caught up with technique over end impact: Maxx Crosby
He is one of -if not the best - at meeting players in the backfield:
Qb sacks + Hits, and TFLs /fumbles
He don’t have awful technique but it certainly isn’t elite technique all the time
He wins a lot with his lateral ability to change direction
Great point (Charger fan btw)
@@koldtruth4961 i wanted to get your coach as our coach but i do like AP in Vegas
I just thought an opportunity at such an impressive resume like Harbaugh was a no brainier
@@Rob-gf3pb yeah however AP is the real deal...he will definitely maximize the potential of your team for years to come
I must be living under a rock!. I never knew the Mr. SSS has his own channel?!!! One of the very few that could talk the talk and walk the walk in and out of the nfl. One of the few you should be smart enough to keep on the kewl while on and off the field because he will show why he is a true dawg and has humiliated the trash talkers and backed it up every time. True game changer when he was in the league. Happy that you still bless us with the breakdown of players, plays, and the game for us and get to see a different side of things and the perspective from one who was a dawg and db killer in the game!!!! Much appreciated 💯🙏
Double rods lance. You and Mr. Smith dynamite. Consulting firm incoming. Great job men. Learned a lot.
Great show.
Great pairing RT! So much insider game and knowledge from these two. Maybe get a podcast together…it’s like two professors
I learn so much about the WR position from listening to Steve Smith. Like the F WR . Thanks for all the knowledge
Real life humble dude
Steve, you’ve always been my guy…. Lance I just gained a new respect for you.💯 Lance, when you expressed your feelings on the term, “Generational Talent”???!!! You said it without saying it… Can’t stand that term. This is a great take by the way…👍🏾👍🏾
#OnePride✊🏾🦁💙
Brian Thomas.... 4th or 5th WR....i recall another LSU WR duo where the second guy went 4th or 5th. He turned out decent😂
Xavier worthy is my guy in this draft. I pray the colts get him while trading back. Him in a steichan offense that predicates people getting open then having ar and jt in the backfield teams are going to have a long day.
Colts fan here and I approve this message 👏
I'd only want Thomas jr 1st if Ballard doesn't want his picks
As a UT fan for 50 yrs you are right. Worthy will be a good player. Maybe not an80 catch guy at this level but every other receiver will get more catches to go with his 50-60 catches. He is a difference maker for a good team.
@craigburnett6099 yeah I definitely can see that in him. He's what we hoped a healthy Paris Campbell could've been. But the way worthy plays he's going to be a very effective player with so many roles
I’m an FSU fan and I can tell you if I was a Colts fan I’d want Ricky Pearsall to pair with Anthony Richardson. When they played FSU two years ago they were unstoppable. FSU won the game but Pearsall did whatever he wanted out there.
No fear that he is 160 lbs soak and wet , huh?
If you look at Odunze’s highlights, dude constantly stop or lean back because the ball IS ALWAYS BEHIND HIM.
brian thomas is my fav from this wr class
Steve Smith Is The MAN!

Damn that was good to watch!
Off the football topic I looked you up just to get NFL info and I found your IG which took me in a rabbit hole and see what a family man you are and been with your wife for years. So I’m subscribing and love to see happy couples who put God first and football is just a bonus! And Go Niners!!!! ❤️💛
There’s NO ONE I trust more that Steve when it comes to WR evals.
He hand picked Jonathan Mingo for Carolina. Dude KNOWS BALL
@@lincolnchiller1274 true. It’ll be interesting to see if Mingo and Young can breakout this year. I still think Young is solid and was sent to a horrible situation.
@@lincolnchiller1274Carolina had mingo doing incorrect stuff. Things he’s not good at. Both Steve and Matt Harmon said that regarding in-breaking/out-breaking routes, Mingo was doing one type, when he was good at the other one. Matt also said Mingo should play in the slot instead of at X. But unfortunately I don’t know if Mingo will get a chance to develop with a lot of the weapons they now have in Carolina. We’ll see tho.
@@lincolnchiller1274Mingo blows

I only waited for this episode 😂😂 ty agent 89
What I like more about NAbers is that he has more of a DAWG to him. I like my WRS to be like Steve Smith, tough and after the catch ability
A lot of these wrs are very talented. Where they get drafted can make a huge difference
Good analysis here men. The concept of “F”/flanker rise is due to the hashmarks being the optimal way to win against modern NFL defenses.
Steve always show up fresh 🤌🏽
Fresh to death and ready to party.
Next can we get the perfect team fits for the top15. I’m curious what kind of wr the ravens need
Top tier WR analysis as always! 👏🏻 bagel analysis subpar tho, ngl
Regarding Marvin Harrison Jr...I think if you ask players "What is the most important thing you can do between now and the draft?" most would answer "Improve my draft stock." I think the correct answer is "Stay Healthy"...and that is the priority he put first. Guys with good tape and measurables have that luxury and Harrison Jr. took advantage of that. Good on him.
Steve knows ball. He's #1 I check for their opinion on any WR. Super detailed and usually highly accurate.
Pearsall will be the best NFL WR in this entire class IMO. He has ELITE athleticism AND already is an absolute technician running routes, has GREAT HANDS, GREAT TOUGHNESS over the middle, has an obsessive work ethic, plays with NFL veteran nuance. I think Pearsall has been criminally underrated in big part to his good- not great college production, but his QB's were not good and that alone can stunt the best WR's raw statistics.
You are absolutely correct. I'd bet my reputation on the fact he will be one of the top 3 receivers from this draft when we look back on it.
Every time I see you I have nightmares about all the beatings you gave us Atl Falcons during your career. It’s hard to watch you on your show flash backs occur. All I can say is that you were a “Beast “. Much respect!!!
👏🏿
When Steve Smith speaks you listen.
Good episode Smitty. Like how you stayed quiet at times to let buddy make his points. You cap on Keon though. He top 3 WR in this draft. Bet by next yr his stats prove me right.
The biggest change for me is the physicality. Passing offenses use the middle of the field much more frequently than say 30 years ago a WR going over the middle would get decapitated. If you are not old enough to have seen this you should take the time to go back and look at some of the absolutely brutal hits. This was before the “targeting” and hitting a defenseless receiver penalties were a thing. I’m not lamenting the rule changes, they were necessary for player safety and that’s a good thing. I’m just pointing out it was much more difficult to use that part of the field as much
Everyone is lying. John Ross absolutely has better tape than Worthy
Smitty! You and Lance is a perfect combo! He should be the new co-host with u!!
It’s crazy that when judging a wr far and away the best asset isn’t hands. MHJ by far has the best hands and routes
Steve what are your thoughts on Reggie brown from James Madison I thought he was the best wide out period
I really hope Steve gives us how he expects these top guys to contribute to their new teams, and the roles he thinks they'll have.
I think he said he’s gonna
Love these guys, especially Steve, but I almost cut this off at 8:00 lol. Glad I stayed around longer, but after looking at tape, it only reiterates that MHR is easily the best WR prospect (and actually overall) in this draft. Even the best evaluators trick themselves a little bit too much.
Just to add a little more context with AD Mitchell. His freshman year at UGA (2021) he was the guy and made all the plays on the outside. The following season he was riddled with injury and barely played and thus Ladd emerged. When AD transferred to UT he was healthy which is why it appears to be such a large leap.
These young kids today have no idea how good of a WR Steve Smith Sr. was. If I could build a WR my WR would posses the heart and tenacity of Steve that I have yet to see in a WR since Steve played.
That shirt is epic!
Steve, I’m genuinely curious to your evaluation on Worthy?
He consistently came up short in big moments and small. His frame is not going to last as it currently stands, especially being utilized in the gadget role he’s going to be. His hands are a pure liability and can’t defeat press?
Thanks,
Brian W
If the Pats take a WR in the 2nd woukd you take Adonai mitchel,Ladd mcConky or Keon Coleman? I'm leaning towards Keon with his size and speed
Smith the best in the game. The Xavier Worthy take is so based. Bc I was definitely looking at Texas games last year and it’s clear that Worthy > AD
Rome reminds me of Mike Evans a bit. Not a breakaway runner but an absolute dawg on contested catches and back shoulder.
That's a good comp with Odunze .. Larry Fitzgerald .... I do think some team will get a steal if Ja'Lynn Polk drops! ... I myself have McConkey & Worthy 9 & 10 ..
I never realized that Adonai michell and Brian Thomas jr birthday 🎂 is October the 8th!! 😂😅
Been waiting to see where you have Legette after his breakdown video
What would you think if the baltimore ravens drafted brian thomas junior with mark andrews already there at tight end and zay flowers on an up and coming year.
Great perspectives from great minds
Good paring!!!
Chris Carter & Jerry Rice…. Those were the two WR’S that, Lance was talking about…(my opinion)… Two of the best route runner’s of all time.💯🧐
Somebody watching film thank u. How y’all don’t got worthy top 5 Steve u the 🐐
TBH Xavier Worthy brings return ability as well, which some are overlooking. The new rule change is gonna make return men way more valuable.
Zurlein: "he said I know you're not a guy that'll go around telling people"
Steve: WHO?!?! 😂
I disagree with Steve Smith saying the truth lies in the middle for Xavier Legette. Look at Smith's college stats: 35 rec for 743 yards, 43 rec for 860 yards. He was way better than that in the pros. Some players figure it out and explode when put in a complementary system. It matters more what his role is in the offense
I'm curious of what Steve think of Rome fit with Caleb DJ and Keenan! Do you think the Bears eating this year????
Love Lance! Bring him back!
Been waiting for this SO LONG, I haven’t watched the video yet but based on the rankings I really disagree with Franklin over Ladd.
I think the ceiling is higher with Franklin if you can fix his problems and get him better. They are doing who is going to be better later in their career down the road not just out the draft.
Little hide and seek bc he wasnt on the field sometimes.. but he was 😂 bro Steve smith is funny
Steve’s the best WR evaluator. Me n him saw eye to eye on Josh Downs n he’s a stud for Indy who fell to the third. Steve got me to watch Kahlil Shakir’s tape n man, I walked away saying someone’s going to get a stl in the 3rd maybe 4th. Then he falls to Buffalo in the 5th. Dude is so good at breaking down WRs.
Steve I’m done being a panthers fan unless u honestly think Leggette can or is better than AD Mitchell? Pls respond my fandom is actually riding on this.
This is what I call a wombo combo
Drake Stoops is my "Julian Edelman"-like possession guy. Coaches son mentality and good hands.
Xavier Worthy to the Chiefs, from the Bills! Last time they traded up w the Bills it was for Mahomes!!!
They are down on Brian Thomas Jr. Persona, but when you look up the top 12 in all time yardage only three have that Rah Rah personality.
Legette is the steal of the WR class.
Interesting that Lance brings up DK while discussing Rome and he gets drafted by DK’s former OC’s team
I feel like Pearsall is destined for Indy. Freaky athletic and the connection with AR. I feel like his floor is round 3.
Malachi !!! Welcome to GangGreen Fam !!!! Hell yeah 💣💥!!! LETS GO JETS!!!! 💪✈️🙌
It’s how they are used. How they fit in the teams scheme.
New Kickoffs, Gonna be bigger guys since they don't have to run far. LBs, You'll see DT and OL over WRs 💯 STs is now different...who will adjust
Like i always say never pass on a LSU 1St Round Wr. if you need 1. GeauxTigers
Chiefs got Worthy the league in DANGER
Chiefs era is done
22:30 Holy crap that was such an amazing point about Odunze. Where someone told him he doesn't play to his full speed and it's because he's setting up for jump ball opportunities. He knows when to slow down so he can setup for that basketball rebound where he knows he's gonna win. What a sick take on Odunze. That was great. That's next level thinking right there. That is what scouts are thinking about. Odunze is playing chess while the corners are playing checkers. Side note: Xavier Worthy will be John Ross.
