Yes.
+mikoyyuy13
So I was thinking, what makes this satisfying is the perfect execution, right? He's doing it fast and efficiently.
What would be more satisfying? If he could do it _more_ fast and efficiently.
How can you achieve that effect?
Crank the speed up to 2.0.
Thank me later. :3
yes yes it is
you just took the words out of my mouth!
"don't try this at home"
Dudes he's cooking, I need to eat

TheKvack Muricaa

This was filmed in America.
I felt so pleased when he cutted that onion.
hahaha I thought the same
WHY IS THAT ONION PART SO SATISFYING FOR ME
It has an ASMR effect
Hail shrek
It's fascinating that there are people that can do activities like this with such insane precision. This is an indicator of natural talent and of a lot of experience, both of which indicate the chef's passion for his art and his dedication for self improvement. Keep up the good work, chef!
l would say you cannot do the things as good as the Japan's best in the world with knife
Those onion slices are thinner than a junkie's veins

you had dreams of becoming a sushi master? :)
4:55 and I have school XD
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef where can I purchase one of those knives, the knives I have from school become dull very quick... I have had them sharpened and I have sharpened them myself
+Karim Houri but....it's beautiful to see right XD
+Sydni2003 Their knife supplier is Knifemerchant, discount code NKB10 for 10% off (from another NoVe video). However, for the best bang for your buck, go have a look at Victorinox cook's knives, they're ridiculously good value.
The chef earned my respect easily, i guess he must have worked so hard to achieve skillz like that
nejc malnar I bet right after birth he was given a knife and some ingredients and made extraordinary food.
Such an important but often undervalued skill is cooking. Cooking will never go out of fashion as people will always need to eat, and eat well. I admire all chefs who have a passion for one of the most important professions!
Unless we develop replicators, like in Star Trek...
therhinoskull they still needed Neelix to cook whenever power was scarce ;)
Fayez Aladwan Ha! True, true.
Absolutely!
And I find it rather therapeutic as well.
Sorry to say but it’s not the even close to one of the most important professions. Aslong as it’s edible and you get your nutrition. Nurse or Neurosurgeon there you got one of the most important professions.
Videos like these are my guilty pleasure XP
I don't know why 10 years ago I was looking up knife skills but I did and have been watching his videos ever since.
Scallions: beautiful. Onions: precision of a master. Cucumber Decor: WHERE THE HELL IS THIS PLACE LOCATED AT AGAIN!?
***** I'll see what I can do if I find myself in Florida ;).

+SparklesThePanda Kawaii go check some ASMR.
Kaley Hagan search here on youtube. if you think that sounded satisfying somehow.
+Sir Cat II Colonel of the 4th Grammar Nazi Division Tbh, it's oddly satisfying when you're not expecting it to be Asmr.
Is it because of the bamboo cucumber?
because cooking, is art
I wonder if Hiro + cameraman thought they would go this far 😃
"don't try this at home" (never prepares food again and starves)

Maaan that's neat. That level of skill is downright mystifying. The cutting sounds are really satisfying too for some reason.
i did that cucumber garnish for my girlfriend, lets just say it was a good night.
thx crazy knife guy.
The crisp sound is so satisfying too...
0:13 Reminder: Don't try this at home
*Okay...I guess i'll never cook again*
That Guy lol
MccDonalds for the win Alex. ;)
This was unexpectedly entertaining. What a pro!
>cutting vegetables
>''don't try this at home''
***** No i did.
***** Are you really under-minding people like that? I'm sure that if people take it slow, they would be able to at least attempt these exercises.
***** Well, the majority of teenagers and adults know how to handle a sharp knife, they realize that the edge cuts. Almost everyone owns knives, people use knives daily for cooking, and they use their off-hand to hold the thing they are cutting, just like in the video. For example, people cut garlic in the same fashion as in the video.
***** Is the sushi served with that cucumber instead of seaweed?
***** Ok cool.
this is so damn satisfying to watch
There is just something so satisfying about the sound of consistent knife cutting. Ahhh!
Best cucumber peeling ive ever seen in my life
This Chef should be a surgeon with that knife control. Astonishing.
i cant even cut an apple in half without slicing off my hand
Then how you can write this? I wonder how.
***** Maybe they reattached it
Alex Bennington Good idea.
is there like a fetish for being satisfied by chopping food because I'm so relaxed by this
Thats hot
Same here
asmr
Still less expensive than a csgo knife
Lol
ikr
GG lol lets see him cut veggies with a karambit
+That one Innocent Bystander or the shadow daggers

I have all my fingers and i go
chop chop chop...
:D
I feel old 8 years ago now Just wow
This channel has grown so much I love it. This was there first video I watched. Incredibly satisfying
Very nice :) The sharpness of the knife is paramount. It's way more dangerous to cut with a dull knife than with a sharp one, as the chef clearly demonstrates. He also lets the knife do the work rather than apply too much pressure. I like this video.
can't agree more for your first sentence
I am watching a sushi video at 1am despite having 2 essays due tomorrow.
Man that's the best knife skills ive ever seen!!!!!
Nice work man :)
Where is your closest shop in Australia if you have one

2:07 "better you than you" ...yeah
***** Just joking with you guys, nice video though :D
dont cut it out, its soo funny :D
***** yeah dont cut it out. That was impressive Very well trained! Im hungry now
***** I thought that was a joke on purpose! XD Saying "Better you than you" is actually correct.
***** It means that you are mimicing someone so goood that you play him better than he plays himself. Doesn't make much sense but it's correct.
I've come a long way, I've been watching this channel for seven... whole years! I'll keep supporting you two! Thanks for teaching me so much!
the sound of it cutting the scallions is so satisfying
+nozfalo ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ...which dies at 1:26 lol :/

Can i hire this guy to peel my apples ?
Dillan P those better be some awesome-tasting apples
"Don't try this at home"
How am I going to cook for myself?!?!
That's what I also thought
Hahaha
3:27 The man behind him, he stares into your soul.
that guy has some serious skill to be able to chop like that and not cut off his fingers.
John Pugh he probably cut his fingers several times before
This guy has better skills than a surgeon . He should be performing circumcisions.
lol
Don't you mean cucumbercisions?
So do , I said the other Master Chef.
laughed my brains out
Surgeons watch him for tips & pointers.
I love the sound when he is cutting the vegetables,so oldly satisfying
did anyone notice the moody looking man on the right at the end? bet ya he's the boss! typical
wow nice skills! also 1,150 people checked their youtube and found this video. they said "woooo let's try this!". when they tried, some of their fingers got cut. then... the most waited moment. "OH FRICKING SHIT!!! ;-;" then they came back to the video and disliked with the fingers remained. the end of the maybe legit story of the 1,150 dislikers.
again, you have an extremely good cutting skills! All hail the Chef Hiro Terada!
***** no problem =]
they dont lisen he said twice dont try this at home
Michael Guest even fatal.
nejc malnar maybe they didn't heard that.
yeah
I started crying at 0:17 when he was cutting the onion. WTF.
Even Gordon Ramsay was impressed. Chef Hiro, You've surpassed one of the greatest Chefs in the world
this is so satisfying
I'm not even into cooking or stuff like that, I just like to watch vegetables getting chopped lol
Welcome back to the greatest era in history (2007-2013).
the sound of the blade slicing the veggies is so satisfying
This video has over 1000 dislikes... why would anyone dislike a video about a man cutting food for cooking purposes?
coz of the annoying music in the background maybe??
Jenky Acme no, it is youtube, respect everyone's opinion man
I dunno. I have noticed on YT that there will always be haters.
joe samuel ???? just made a comment about the music that sounds very annoying to me, is that disrespecting anyone elses opinion???
Nicely done! right down to wiping the board with a rag....
***** Yeah I'm sure its not uncommon to see a rag used as a regular tool for this purpose... not as a cleaning rag, but as just to clear the surface for additional prep work, so long as the rag is clean and sanitary I don't have a problem with it, however I can understand the 'debate over its use for such task. I mentioned it, since I noticed its use in other Asian cooking, or food prep vids vids.
***** Yeah no doubt I was just mentioning it cause you always see especially Japanese and or Chinese using the rag as a primary way to clearing the board for further prep work and its understandable..I used to work at one of the busiest restaurants in the United Sates and used rags to wipe and disinfect, but its been my observation its one tool that can't be used too much in that respect, but the Asian's seem to always use it as it ties in to their skill set, especially sushi in particular.
my dad owns a Japanese restaurant and he uses a rag (clean of course) too
Yeah all kitchens use them it's bad practise not to carry a cloth with you in most English and French kitchens.
+C D Kennedy in this case it acts as a broom
The moment when your so bored you watch a guy slicing
Same
Jub..
ive watched this guy's entire video about sharpening a knife before this vid
John Banez same
You're*, but yeah
I have nothing but admiration for this man
2:50 what we all want to happen when we sharpen our pencils
its david cutterfield :D
Du Bimbo :D
This guy is like a terminator sent back though time to show people how its done.
It's not like a terminator, it is a fuckin terminator
i’m probably gonna be the most recent comment on this video for a while; it’s pretty cool to see how chef Hiro has changed since the time of this upload - despite his skills still being top-notch today, of course!
sounds stops and resumes to say "'mm those cucumbers, 16th of an inch" ;)
And that's why I wear a chainmail glove
sad
I'm a chef, and I would prefer to NOT cut off my fingertips when fast cutting meat.
hardiehardley a chef with bad knife skills maybe... how long have you been a chef? im a qualified chef and chop fast without gloves.
Only three years i'll confess. But better safe than sorry. Imagine going up to the customer and saying 'you want food with nail or fingertips?' I will also confess cooking isn't my main profession, but secondary.
Not really making Sushi, Your making Miso Soup with that, Still SO delicious
It’s a pleasure to watch an accomplished chef with great knife skills.
What a Hiro
satisfying
now that is skill, nicely done!
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef hi daddy
That cucumber garnish is hard to recreate, he did such a good job of it.'A sixteenth of an Inch' haha? Who talks like that!? Bloody Americans.
+Ev James people who don't use the metric system?
(In other words, silly people)
+SerpentSword _ nah it's in freedom units, they best measurement system
+Ev James bloody americans pip pip cheerio mate
That guy's camera stare @3:33 has me rolling.
They hatin
They think I'm just too white and nerdy! Think I'm just too white and nerdy! Can't you see I'm white and nerdy look at me I'm white and nerdy!
"Don't try this at home."
Me: tries it at home*
Also me: dies*
dies yet lives to tell the tale that you died
i wonder how many people said "I can do that" and ended up at the emergency room
What an amazing chef. Knife skills are out of this world. I wonder how many times he has cut him self through out his years as being a chef. Amazing.
The guy has skills
haters everywhere 1000 dislikes
if those who hit the dislike button can do this im so sorry
They are jealous that they can't do this in a million times...
1000 people tried this at home, failed, came back and clicked dislike (with whatever fingers they had left)
proudestmikey Xaxaxax maybe
i clicked dislike cause its just a chef in a kitchen.. and there is no real skill behind it.. its his job. Thats like watching a video of a construction worker hammering a nail in without missing and saying "omg such skill".. when really its just his job...
Ok and whats your problem
You r such a hater
got news for ya its not the knife its the man holding the knife
***** yeah but i got a friend that can make a knife just as sharp as that one with a coffee cup im not kidding he sharped knifes with a cup or a filament from a light bulb damnedest thing
hardwirecars coffee mugs are made of ceramic, the same material used in most sharpening stones however he cant possibly get it to a perfect edge because of the impurities of the ceramics in the cup...
CAIDMASTEROFPYRO all i know is that was the absolute sharpest knife i have ever seen it would do the paper test with ease and cut hair off your arm like a damn razor and he has cut the tip of his finger off more times then most people and never even feels it. im sure its not a perfect edge under a microscope but damn for just using a cup it was amazing. you should see the filament sharpening(only works from certain light bulbs).
hardwirecars the cutting the tip of his finger thing just means he is bad with knives, i knocked the tip of my thumb once didnt even feel it just noticed blood all over the chopping board lol
Is it only me watching in 2020 to see how much he improved? 😂
Nope😂
mad skillzzz
