The fact that this is in the rain is infuriating. They really have no idea what they are doing in terms of renting space for a contest like this. I love all of the guys, but deadlifting in the rain has to be so aggravating.
It's not all about the competition. It's about the atmosphere and putting on a show. This isn't the biggest money making sport. Its also kind of tradition to do it outside.
How many WSM contestant work out in the rain? Producers of the show should provide dry, well-lighted venues for all events. Maybe the participants should form a union.
I still say a business that has been around since 1977 should have a rainy day plan in place. Again, another disservice to all these athletes. They saw the storm coming and should have had a gymnasium set aside.
Luke Stoltman was filming vlogs and eating fast food day prior, he keeps on repeating the same thing over and over dude will never learn from his mistakes. Brian Shaw looks strong from his leg issue, good video !
I DONT LIKE THE RAIN FOR THIS.....ONE FOOT SLIP AND A SEVERE INJURY OR LIFE THREATENING. Should have under cover/inside if rain prevales. A slip by foot or hand IS BAD !!! COMPETITORS FIRST !!
I mean, they don't even have a livestream or a way to watch the events legally. They prefer the old ways of delayed TV broadcast when almost nobody watches TV anymore. Not to mention when it airs on TV we only see a few events and competitors, and they put too much emphasis on the interviews.
@@ajboyd9389 You are suggesting i have spent 15 + years to train for strongman to have an opinion. How would you assess Luke compared to other strongmen?
lol it's not that big of a deal, the NFL has games in the snow/rain too people. Americans LOVE complaining 🙄 As long as all the athletes are playing in the same conditions it's still a fair competition
Brian Had to rest towards the end this guy filming obviously never lifted heavy as hell. Unfortunately when you start stalling recovery time goes up really really fast. If he just tried to half ass a lift as fast as spectators thought he could it wouldn't of broke off the ground far at all if at all. Not sure on the weight but 6 , 7 , or 800lbs is far different then 3 or 4 recovery time is far different.
I don’t think that is fair. As a young child I remember watching it on tv and being amazed by it. WSM is a joke tho and greed holds them back. So many better promotions in the same space.
Whoever owns WSM is living in the 90's. It's like they don't even know internet exists. So much money lost and sponsors missed due to not live streaming this.
I’m just curious why don’t they hold the world’s strongest man in side like a huge convention center
They did during COVID
easy to answer
1. money
It’s always been held outside. Probably to show off the host location environment.
If they're going to be out in the rain anyway maybe they could finally run it in the UK next year 🤣🤣
If you turn the sound off they could be in the uk 🌧
The fact that this is in the rain is infuriating. They really have no idea what they are doing in terms of renting space for a contest like this. I love all of the guys, but deadlifting in the rain has to be so aggravating.
But don't worry, they disallowed figure 8 straps to keep them very safe deadlifting....
I went to WSM in 2019 and it was soooooo poorly ran. Horrible staff and poorly designed
It's not all about the competition. It's about the atmosphere and putting on a show. This isn't the biggest money making sport.

I think it’s fucking awesome. You battle your competitors and the elements. What other sport lets you do that
@@buffoonustroglodytus4688 football, baseball. Any outside sport really

Or they could just get on with it like they did ....unions 😂😂😂😂get a life
Crazy they didn't just put tents over this
The wind here was insane...I don't think they could have.
Well, the Stoltmans are use to the rain up in the Highlands of Scotland
Haha! Yeah, it’s must be proper annoying and make deadlifting a lot harder
Cuánto es el peso que levanta alguien me puede decir por favor gracias ?
Kinda hard holding onto a wet bar, especially one with that much weight on it.
Usually I'd agree but they have straps on so grip isn't much of a factor I'd be more concerned about slipping
@@user-my2se7sn3s I agree.
@@user-my2se7sn3s well yes but you also need grip.. its not lightweight
Why no canopies?
Slippery dangerous shit. The cooling effect may be good but everything under the sun from grip to footing would be scary shit.
At 4:21 in the video that’s me wearing a brown round fishing type hat, lower left screen. Deadlifting in the rain= bad grip.

Fun fact: Brian Shaw was told to keep quiet before the event, since he was making too much noise, shouting screaming and name calling.
you'd think they'd have some cover for the arena so they could compete with dry equipment.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ideal conditions 😂
Good

Yeah, he should be in his room reading the Bible and eating kale! 😆
He is among the top 10 strongest men on the planet I think he knows what he is doing lol

This was not the final day.
Don’t need to hear boos very childish both incredible athletes
Came to say this. Strongman is such a supportive sport, booing is out of order.
They're not booing. They're saying LUUUUKE. Nobody boos at these. Very supportive. You might also hear HOOOOP when Mitch Hooper is up.
Lol, Luke could only do 3 reps, he said he wanted a podium finish. Also does not have enough lean mass compared to most of the other top strongmen.
And where did you finish?

agreed, next time they should deadlift underwater. actually missing a brain.
Odd thing is WSM disallowed figure 8 straps for deadlift "safety" reasons, and then proceeded to make them deadlift in the rain.
he's old and torn hamstring before

Thanks for the sage advice. I was deadlifting 685 at 242 at age 20, for the record, though.
