  • They were there to mark Hanuman Jayanti (a Hindu festival), in a (Covid safe) place of worship in northwest London. But they had only one thing on their mind - the wellbeing of their families and relatives in India. As India in on the red list, travel between the two countries isn't possible. Many weren't able to go for funerals to be with their families. Grieving is hard as such, but doing it from thousands of miles away feels even more difficult. Yet many have found solace in chanting the Hanuman Chalisa before Hanuman Jayanti on Tuesday. For many, coming together to be with each other is reassuring at a time like this.
