I really love this song but in spite of denials it's really about suicide, just listen to the lyrics. That does not upset me, it's really great lyrically, suicide is part of our existence. Who hasn't felt like ending it sometime.

@@leesulkowski6238 it's not about suicide, it's a about accepting your own mortal condition.
A lot of people have that fear, not knowing what awaits them after death, but this song says you don't have to be afraid of death, you need to live your life without thinking about what is going to happen in the end, because that's the only way you can be happy, "Seasons don't fear the reaper, nor do the wind, or the sun, or the rain, we can be like they are, cmon baby don't fear the reaper". Buck wrote that song because he was diagnosed with some irregular heart activities, and that made him think about his own mortality, How he could die at any moment, and how he could have died at a young age.
And it also talks about eternity, like when the song says "Valentine is done, here but now they're gone", or when the song talk about "Romeo and Juliet", that part is not actualy emphaciszing the fact that Juliet commited suicide, but the fact that she had faith that her love would be waiting for her in the afterlife, a thing Buck was also thinking when he wrote the song.

Listen for the last note of the solo, it holds until the second line of the next verse. You can hear it steady through the hook at he beginning of that final verse, then drop out right before the line "came the last night of sadness". Its hypnotic yet you dont even realize you're hearing it until you listen for it. Once you hear it, you'll hear it forever. A subtle touch but an integral part of the song's mesmerizing quality.

Yep...have seen them many times since the mid seventies. They are always loud. The loudest concert we saw them play was in one of our closed department stores. Strange place for a concert. We even took my then seventy year old mother to one of their concerts because she wanted to go. My late husband and I have been friends with the band since the early eighties.

BOC is something special in my book. One of my favourite bands. Whereas other bands in the early days of “heavy metal” pushed the sonic levels more, BOC retained a more subtle approach with an emphasis in the eerie and atmospheric-heavily influenced by the conceptual input of Sandy Pearlman and others and the band’s psychedelic roots. To me they created a catalog far more intriguing and varied than any other band

BÖC is one of my favourite bands and certainly the most influencial on my work as a composer / musician. I would love your input on the first video of my first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. If you have just 3 minutes to listen and a bit more to comment, that would mean the world to me.
