As someone who has been off and on with the TCG the gameplay of pocket is very disappointing because it does not have any of consistency tools and the game comes down to coin flips rather than deck game plan and skill expression.
I mean every tcg has flips. Pocket is honestly, one of the least rng heavy card games. Just because the flips in other card games arent visible, doesn't mean rng is not there lol. Snap and pocket have relatively low variance.
the actual gameplay is terrible but its still cool to collect a few cards everyday. for that reason i dont think anyone is gonna just drop the game completely. theres no reason not to spend 5 minutes a day opening up your 2 packs.
I have no idea why they changed the going first rule from the regular TCG in Pocket. In the regular game, when going first you can't attack or use supporter cards, but everything else is fair game. Honestly, I feel like they simplified the game too much from the regular TCG. Replacing energy cards with the energy zone, the bench going from 5 spots to 3, 60 card decks being reduced to 20 card decks, etc. Hell, I don't even think you can deck out in this game, so they removed an entire win condition from the game. Like, some simplification is fine since this is supposed to be a lighter experience, but I think they went a little too far with it. Now there's basically only one kind of deck (attack) and since the energy zone works the way it does, you're encouraged to use as few types as possible (with the exception of some Pokemon that can use any kind of energy for their attacks). I think the only thing I like more abut the battle system in Pocket compared to the regular TCG is the idea of prize points instead of prize cards.
My biggest problem is how the game plays like a WAY worse version of the tcg. The reason ex pokemon are so op is because the game lacks the tools to make non ex pokemon worth using except for if we're talking about a few handfulls of cards. The tcg has card like uktraball and evolution cards. Pocket is so nerfed in card power and so simple i doubt those types of cards will ever appear.
having the halved deck limit and halved points also messes with the game and weights everything more towards EX cards and quick strategies: long set up strategies are always going to be worse than something that is fast because there’s simply not enough victory points for control to be worth it when the opponent is already ahead with their RNG BS Misty-Gyarados or just raw powering it with Mewtwo or Pikachu
I actually feel the opposite. I felt that EX cards dominated in regular TCG, while I have somewhat of a chance with even regular cards in Pocket. Also being able to accumulate most of the cards a lot easier than the main TCG also helps. I feel like casual players have an actual chance to compete.
@@Drstrange3000 In the digital tcg (which has a piece of shit client) you can much easier get the stuff you need than in this. You start with a bunch of not horrible decks as well.
Not sure if you ever played it, but Terra Battle was the last mobile game I ever invested in, before the sequel and it shut down... I really hate how they won't make an offline version of most of these mobile games. Egglia got an offline and switch release with the gacha embedded into the game.
🔥 content and topics, literally the most influential and trendy creator. Also also someone’s who’s invested a lot into this game and hoping for a decent trade system I’d appreciate if you glazed this game ❤️
Aw yeah, the classic hate/love scenario. This is also my first experience with the pokemon tcg. Opening a pack x2 a day just for downloading is pretty neat. Battling however feels like the most rigged gutter trash I've ever experienced. Thanks for whooping my ass for the 30th game in a row.
in one hand premium is cheap packs compared to other games, but buying single cards is quite expensive 1 EX card every 100 packs opened. that's a lot. gameplay wise i am disappointed, only a handful of cards are actually playable and everything else is chaff. evolution cards are super weak despite being so goddamn bricky. eventually i think there will be enough cards to have more decks, but for now is so boring and unbalanced. and i don't think it will ever get better design wise because that's the refined formula they have been using on paper tcg for decades now. it won't change. despite that, trading will be the thing that will make or break the game for me.
feel the same about this game,it just feels terrible, if the opponent gets his engine running before you, you might aswell surrender because there's no cards to slow them down or outplay them, just sucks not fun at all
I don't know what to say but I wanna leave a comment so you do better in the algorithm so uh... meow? Also tik tok hawk tuah AI crypto ceo new year? Chat GPT! Schizophrenia. 👍

@@abhinandhari7812 like in yugioh your starting had matters way to much
This, the full sized TCG has a lot of tools to reduce the impact of RNG on your gameplan, and they're way stronger than in Pocket.
You must have never played the real Pokemon TCG 😂
@@TheHopelessThrumbo u do realise the high amount of variance in the og tcg though right?
Even energy is rng
Gameplay is essentially Roulette with more steps really given the lack of any consistency tools like the irl game
On the bright side, at least you didn't try Yugioh Duel Links.

@havasicsongorgeza I used to play it a lot back in the day. You could get really cheap codes to redeem through ebay.
thanks for beating my ass is a wild thing to say lol

Blaine's Rapidash and Egxeccutor EX are the only turn 2 evolutions that can work
Don't forget my boy Weezing! Honestly soeaking, the Koga deck is what keeps me playing this game.
You really did come back lol

Why does this game look like it's ripping off Palworld's character design?
Play goddam Hitmonlee, zebstrika or Lumineon to attack bench Pokemon lol
