10 months on - How is the change in fishing style going?

- 10 months ago I decided to completely change up my fishing style, and move from the reel up position to reel down.
I have persevered and stuck to fishing reel down and find this becoming a more comfortable style to fish with.
This video is an update on how the change is going.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated 👍🏻🎣
Try both of those casts and see which works out best. Please beware that a off the ground cast can need different clip down ends to stop your hook coming out when dragged over ground 😊
Great vid.
After watching, Ime glad I've ordered a pair.
Superb rod! Will probably add a second so I have a pair 👍🏻
Well done Ste. Keep going mate. Loving your enthusiasm. Giz a shout whenever ❤
@@jaypickup9060 nice one Jay, just enjoying my fishing at the moment and looking to improve where I can. Give you a shout soon 👍🏻❤️
@@North.West.AnglingI’ll give you a ring later. Going the Fort for a few hours today 🎣
Brilliant mate, nice to see your progression, im similar story, fished a single style all my life, just dont do well with change. Ste keeps telling me get that reel down, slowly moving it inch by inch 😂
Exactly mate, especially when you don’t need to change. Only reason I did was to add something new to my fishing and to keep it exciting. Have you give it a go?
@@North.West.Angling no mate not yet, I keep meaning too but chicken out and stick to what I know, I should do as I really believe that distance is key on some marks mate.
Keep it up m8
Cheers Tommy 👍🏻🎣
Practice makes perfect mate
@@NathonDuckers certainly does mate! Just trying to find the correct feel for the change in style and I’m sure it’ll improve 👍🏻
@@North.West.Angling the nitrons are good mate cause like a 65 how fast they are I started using the flat pendulum am I enjoyed. Using that for fishing worth a look at mate reel down
@@NathonDuckers will have a look at that mate and see if that style will suit me more 👍🏻
Maybe look up the off the ground cast as it's pretty easy to be honest and it'll get you more distance but keep it going 😊
@@adrianbryant7342 looked that up and I suppose that’ll give me an idea of how to get the tip lower. Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
Try the lay-back cast or otg and a longer drop
@ been looking at the lay back cast, will head down and empty b a h soon and put in some practice 👍🏻
Interesting video 👍 i'm more of a coarse angler but am getting more and more into sea fishing i use a fixed spool and fish short range most of the time but i guess at some point distance my be needed... not sure i want to go down the bird nest route though 🤦♂️ had some good sport after the minis from that spot must be some good conger in there plenty of food for em 👍 tight lines
Distance is not always necessary but can certainly help in situations. The change from fix to multi can be a daunting task to many but most find it not so bad once they get the feel. I’ve personally always been a multi user but in the reel up position. Som good fish in the docks, like you said, plenty of food source for them to go at 👍🏻
When you turn into the cast keep that head looking up.. try and keep that left arm extended out and at eye level and then punch and pull 👍
Great bit of advice and one I will put in to practice, certainly need to keep that left arm straight and a bit higher 👍🏻
