Thank you for posting this! It's so important to understand why the interviewer is asking such a broad question so you know how to tailor your response.
Appreciate it! I get the right approach how to response for those typical but very fundamental questions for being consultant. I think the 'fit' interview is somehow more important than case interview : ) I will try my best to give a 'great' level of answer based on your advice. Thanks!
Thank you for the video and I really like your tips but I also cannot help but cringe a little bit and here's why. You put so much emphasis on interview performance - if a candidate doesn't formulate and structure his answer the way you like, the way you've been judging candidates, by standards he/she are not aware of, you consider that candidate's answer as a turn-off and potentially as a sign that this candidate is not a good fit...On the other hand, multiple academic studies by top schools like Wharton and companies like Google have repeatedly shown that interview performance have little to no relationship with job performance.
Sure, but you're not considering the fact that the consulting business has a lot of client interaction. The people you put in front of your client have to represent the firm to the best of their ability, and that includes effective communication under high pressure. The studies you mention likely don't focus on client-interaction focused industries.

It is an important question, but you have to do well in all areas of the interviews to land top offers.
